Does anybody have more 30 minute TPIR episodes with Ian Turpie? If so, can you please post them here on CZcams. It's educational for the United States to discover Australian TPIR history.
I actually painted a painting based on a behind the scenes video Brisbane TV made in 1984. For me, game shows are more about people’s stories than anything else. Even the money and prizes pale against what each participant has been through to get there.
@@betaman7988 It did back then somehow, probably due to the kitsch of the show relative to anything the UK had seen before I suspect, but today I would agree it couldn't.
ajk Well the Price Is Right is different from anything else because (whilst the prizes were crap) there was an endless flow of them going to contestants without a whole load of general knowledge being required
Great stuff, you cannot beat great shows like this, some of the stuff that they put on nowadays is like watching paint dry on the wall.
I totally agree, love the feel of these 80s shows.
Love this show, have you got some more episodes to upload please? Fantastic.

15:06 - Barker would've banned that.
"Ian's back for more big deals..." that makes it seem more like Let's Make a Deal than TPIR lol
Can you upload "The Price is Right - 4-9-12" please?
Distributed by Fremantle Australia
Almost. But it only counts in Horseshoes and Grenades.
Devastating to me how excruciatingly low-budget this is. As if they just wanted to torture contestants.
UK in the 80's was WAY worse. By necessity because of the regulations on game shows there at the time, but still. This is nothing compared to that.
ajk Totally agree. An hour’s Price Is Right that could only give away £6000 in prizes sadly could never work

It was the style at the time
