I gave myself the challenge of a permadeath run. The only exception was letting Astarian drink us dry to appease the Astarian thirsters out there. In my mind, it's still a permadeath run, but call it a Capri Sun run if you want.
Rules of the Permadeath:
1. No Revivify Scrolls
2. No Withers Revivify
3. Main Character Dies - Full Restart
3. No Save Scumming*
*Save scumming allowed if a bug occurs.

Sacred Flame not only hit but finished the fight when everything else missed. Very rare moment indeed.
Literally could probably count on one hand the amount of times that's happened.
In my playthrough sacred flame was almost a meme with how little it hit regardless of hit percentages. Like I was getting 90%+ on some enemies in act 3 only for them to still save out of nowhere. I fully expected that to happen here.
That Hag Fight was INTENSE, Shart came in clutch!
Dude, most stressed I've been in a game on soooooooo long.
I was so unprepared for that fight I never went back to kill her. Raphael was the scariest fight in the game. That shit was hard for me as my team synergy was not that great at the time.
Take gale/ be a wizard or mage, use magic missiles (best with that necklace that gives it one additional missile and lets you cast it once for free). The mirror images have 1 hp and magic missiles can't miss and you get to select a target for every single one of them allowing you - as longs as you are standing somewhat central - to hit all the mirror images at once.
Though the chaotic dramatic approach in the video has also its flair and definitely makes for the better entertainment

Using Silence on the hag is really OP for those doing this fight. She doesn't spawn her copies. The only "downside" comes when you want her hair for the ability +1. It only worked for me after she moved out of the Silence bubble and I passed all my turns when she was at like 5 HP. The downside is there only because you MIGHT die the turn you have to pass, but it's still worth it.
19:08 spirit guardians is SO FUCKING STRONG. It’s my favorite cleric ability by far. Fighting the undead becomes a (relative) cakewalk, as long as you’re properly leveled, unlike me, bc I was about a level behind in almost every area I was in 💀

My next run will be a perma-death too, after completing the game two times and the second being in the tactician I found the game pretty easy compared with other cRPGs and I'm down for a new challenge.
I'll try a perma-death dark urge run and stream it too as it looks funnier sharing it with other people.
Deciding between a shadow monk or glom ranger for total annihilation, or bard for a pacifist run.
There's a mod called Tactician+ I believe that might be good to look into as well! But making the game perma-death is a great time. Really makes ever decision count more.
Ypur character will get pushed off a cliff at some point. I can guarantee you.

Damn i didnt realize how lucky i got on the witch fight. Beat it level 3 with darkness, water spell cleric, lightning channel revealing her invis, though i did save scum a little when she appeared out of nowhere and one shot my guy
Dam I am also 29. I remember Pegues and his eye too. Good time for us geezers.
The Hag is NOT HARD with these few tips:
1. To locate the real Hag, look for the red dot on your mini-map (easiest method)
2. To locate the real Hag, press examine on each of Hags. The real hag will have a status called Fey Life. None of the others do.
3. Throw rocks or random trash you find around the world at the illusions to dispell the illusions.
4. If the Hags are grouped up, use an alchemist fire or vial of acid, anything that does an AOE attack. They only need to take 1 damage to kill.
5. You can easily end the fight by using a Thunder Arrow (even if not proficient) right behind the real hag, sending her into the chasim. She'll need to hit a saving throw to resist the shove... it's veryyyy low. You'll likely succeed on first try.
6. If you want her low health for the legendary Ethels Hair, use oil barrels and smoke powder barrels to surround her. Placing objects from the inventory costs NO actions. Next, fireball it. Kamikaze a character if you need to. Use invisibility to get close or buy an invisibility potion from a trader. Make sure to sneak, just in case. Use turn-based mode.
Or you can just drop a silence bubble on her before the fight, it is a ritual, and she won’t even be able to clone herself. Recast it if she moves out of it.
I don’t get why people make it so much more complicated than it is. 🤷♂️
I just blasted her with Lae'zel and Karlach's attacks. They can do like 40 dmg each per round
Or you could skip all that and just bring a character that knows magic missiles like Gale - can't miss, deals at least one damage and can hit all mirror images at once with a single action if positioned somewhat centrally (you can even cast some stronger spells during the other turns if you got that necklace that adds 1 additional missile to every cast allowing you to hit all 4 with a rank 1 spell slot missiles - though you should still inspect once she transforms the girl (in that case the level difference gives it away (1 = girl, 4 = hag))

@@emilia4355 well let's just say I had a little "incident" with Karlach. I played as a Drow warlock and upon being robbed in broad daylight, framed and set up by kids and corrupt guards twice in a row, racially profiled, threatened with death at least twice just for asking for help - I decided to side with the very welcoming and polite to the point of submissive Goblins and purge that hate filled grove!
Then Wyll for some reason left (guess that prick doesn't like fighting on the side of good and justice) just as I was about to do his quest! When I decided to check the place out anyways I luckily ran into a bunch of friendly paladins, who said they had cornered the beast down the hill. - So I went down, got yelled at for doing what was right by what was obviously a devil (cementing my conviction that I took the lawfully good route) and somehow things escalated and I maybe kinda ended up cutting her head off and trading it in for a sword that gale ate not even half a minute later

I genuinely don't understand how you could have done that, is it from a mod?
I'm the sort of player that goes by a no stone goes unturned approach, yet I've never been level 5 before going to underdark. I've got hundreds of hours over multiple runs, I just can't understand what I'm missing to be that far behind? The only thing I can possibly think of that I've done differently is not unleash the Spectator within the Iron Flask- even then I can't imagine being level 5 before the Hag's lair or even starting adventures into the underdark.
Not a mod. To be honest if you're doing everything, I'm not sure dude. I saved the big boss fights for last so I could be as strong as possible going in. So really focused getting as much side content done prior to doing Gobbo and Hag. Doing the gith creche mission is a BUNCH of XP. Getting every companion you can and exploring everywhere also drops a lot of XP as well.

I usually finish act 1 around level 6, almost 7. You can go in the Underdark before freeing Halsin, fighting the Hag, or the Gith. There is a lot of exp in this game.
Yeah I was going based off of information provided by the video, there was no footage of underdark so I anticipated it to be so. I've got 250+ hours post launch over multiple campaigns and have just never managed to do that before haha.

killing the intellect devourers at the start and attacking the mind flayer normally gets me to lvl 2, to get to level 3 i do withers temple, the goblin fight at grove gate and kill the goblins inside the cave next to the grove, im normally level 4 after killing all the goblin leaders and then 4 - 5 u can get good exp from killing the fishmen in the underdark including booal, the drugers at the dock, the spectator, hook horrors and minotaurs. thats the exp route I normally take, theres probably some quest and discovery exp filling in the gaps

Silence is a Ritual Spell, you can cast it where the Hag is before engaging the fight. Her clones are a Spell.
This fight is so easy, most people I see make it so much harder on themselves than it needs to be.
Tbh I thought we would have initiative at the start from "Surprising" and I could just one round her with the 3 of them. I thought wrong.
