I do not know what time this was taken. I went to Girvan with my sister and friend a few weeks ago and the place was hopping. I had never seen it so busy.
Used to holiday there years ago, dont know what has happened to the place, Pubs closed, no where to go really, its really sad, we head to Stranraer now where shops, restaurants, hotels, entertainment are far better, but will always have a soft spot for girvan
@@thesmithsfamily1901 was very busy in the 70s and had loads of entertainment loved it then, I understand the cheap holidays abroad hurt but look at Largs, similar to Girvan and it still is packed in the summer, Stranraer has the oyster festival that brings thousands to the town, also good live music in the pubs and clubs, Girvan needs the likes of that as well
The locals are obnoxious individuals filled with prejudice and hatred. I’ve been cursed with living in the town and cannot afford to move so I’m stuck in this nightmare. Don’t be fooled by a town’s nice scenery and seaside it’s the people that make a place good/bad not its surroundings.

Never, ever in my life have I met such small minded people. And what a shame...I always say, if Girvan was on the south coast of England, it would be a mecca for artists, musicians, free spirited folk, and general good eggs. We should meet for a beer....strength in numbers.😁

The cheap flight to Spain happened sadly. In the 70s you couldn’t move for tourists!

@@matta5160 I grew up in Girvan. Moved to Edinburgh. Girvan is a proper shit hole full of idiots. It's like the land that time forgot.
