    It would be sick if the default block spacing somehow scoped to 1 level down from the whole document. I feel like with most designs you're going to want to cancel out the space from the header and the first blocks, so the default already has you making decisions when you just want to be making your site.

      But it makes sense that widely available patterns are agnostic.
      I'm trying to make a starter theme for myself this weekend, so I'm just thinking out loud. :)
