- It's that time of year where everyone gets to pick their new school backpacks, everyone had a difficult time choosing what backpack they wanted. The kids are so excited for school to start in a few weeks! Back to school!
My daughter used her same backpack all six years of college, and I’m still using it 35 years later! Jansport!!
Yeah I’m from a fortunate family but as a principle unless we needed a new backpack/school bag our parents would not get us one, we would have to buy it ourselves and put one of our old ones in a charity shop. Obviously it’s just whatever suits each family !! xxx
i usually get another one each year but I didn't really go to school this year so I'm gonna use the same one
I still have my Jansport from high school and I started 9th grade in 1996!

Just love how you included Addison with all of the choices. You could give the "extras" to the place that helps Foster Care Placement Children. They are always looking for backpacks.
They probably gonna keep some considering they opened their house again so they might get more kids during the school year that would need them
They usually do such actions. But as they opened their foster/adoption license again, they probably keep some. But Shelly said also something about returning stuff.

Just love how helpful and kind and sweet Jacob is. He helped with setting up and cleaning up and he helped with Addison on the phone.
Just an idea: you could make some permanent 'names in a hat' system, such as a cup full of Popsicle sticks with the names in permanent marker. We've used that in our classroom for years and it makes it easy to choose a random child without any prep-work.
Loved this video. Seeing what backpacks the kids picked and both the parents reactions was priceless..... I think I can tell why Shelly has trouble throwing.... Her demonstration of throwing was a dead give away. She was talking about throwing and she moved her "hand only" forward as she said she couldn't throw through the doorway. When throwing you have to move your whole arm as well as your hand towards the target....Practice makes perfect ...You can do it!
You are the best family. These parents always make sure all of the kids are treated fairly and have so much fun with everything they do! Love all of you!
I love how Aubrey was keeping Addison updated and showing her everyone’s back packs my siblings would of hung up on me, the such a good family😊 such a great foster family

That was really fun to watch and see their styles and what they picked out. Shelly and Jared you did a great job of knowing what each child would of picked out!!
So many good choices!! I think my favorites are the striped one that Addison got, Brinleys pink one, and Kasons space one. I'd use any of them! Also the multi colored Adidas and the one with stars all over it were really cute. And the red one with hearts all over! And the very cutesy one with the rainbow and everything.
Guess it's a good think I'm not having to pick a backpack, since I would not be able to make a decision! What did surprise me a little though was that none of the kids seemed to look at the layout of the backpack. When I got school backpacks I usually wanted as many different pockets as possible, and I knew what kind of pockets I needed.

And also thank you for being so honest about quarantine and how she’ll be allowed out tomorrow Etc you didn’t have to tell us that you could’ve said that she was clear and she’s finished quarantine so I hope you don’t get any backlash of any kind for it , you did what we would have done under such Circumstances and the child’s age!

This back to school video is by far my favorite one I’ve seen this year ! What an amazing idea to let the kids shop for their backpacks. They are so grateful for the bags, and not wanting that pricy on brand bag. Like nobody chose the Jordan one, until the last one. Lucky Jacob. It must be very stressful seeing the bag he wanted, and had to wait till last.

All the kids are so sweet and supportive of each other. None act entitled or insist upon super duper expensive. You have raised them to be normal kids!!!! Plus you teach them all skills as the come along. Look how Trey went the other day and got the air blower to clean trampoline! Love!!! You guys💕🦋

Jansport is the best! I have black one with leather bottom I bought in 1992 for college after I got out of the military and now use it as my carry-on when I travel, I will not fly without it. My lucky pack. Lol
@@Soy_niah get one with a leather bottom, they all are good, but the leather I believe reinforces it since all the weight goes to the bottom.
You guys are a especially awesome family I love how you cheer each other on and I think it's really cool that nobody said wait that's my backpack and then fight over it the kids are so awesome and they encourage each other and are there for each other I hope Maddie feels better soon

Tell Addison I am still praying for her , and hi rest of the family. Wish I could visit to see what a great foster family is .I been In foster care since 12 year old until 2o. It wasn't that good. But kind of ok. But ya family is really beautiful and great.

I’m using my same backpack I’m used and bought last year for freshman year of college. Need to fix a few things but other wise still looks brand new!!

Yes! I work in a hospital and they won't let us retest when we go back to work after testing positive and quarantine because you can test positive up to 3-4 months after your initial positive test.

My grand boys all had LLBean backpacks all the way through high school and 2 of them through college!!!
I keep seeing that crazy #Pizza 🤪 🍕 backpack 🎒 at the store.
We never had cool backpacks like that back in 1973 when I walked 2 miles to kindergarten. 🤣.. but we had tin lunchboxes with the Brady Bunch.. heh..
and we didn't get high-waisted jeans. We had to wear
toughskins from Sears and Roebuck Store. 😕
The fabric made legs sweat but they were better then the cloth leotard tights by Winnie the Pooh.. 🙄..also from Sears.
Then we had clogs or Gogo boots we wore for shoes.. and Combs in our back pockets of our Levi's with plastic jelly shoes and tall hair with aqua net.
We had plain paper.. til one year TRAPPER- Keepers came out WITH A 3 ring binder..
and that was a game changer.. we never had glue sticks either or sparkled crayons.
We had #2 lead pencils ,and ✏ 😀 then cement glue and it smelled super strong.
We had cardboard pencil boxes and brown rulers 📏 😀 and five cents in our pocket for milk.
