    I love watching tomatoes grow. I think they are my favorite thing to watch for a few reason. they are never the same if you like to change up the type like I do. they always produce rather nicely , thanks for posting this video

      I am weeding and pruning and spraying all day today and tomorrow. Its the big mid summer clean out. I like looking at all the tomatoes and shapes as I do this boring task.

    This is a winner for me, saved a seed from a blush tomato I got at the market , these have a very nice shelf life too.

    The blush looks good. Might have to try that next year. My currants started to crack too. I think I will do just one plant next year with room to spread. Maybe in a container to control the water a little better. They do have a nice taste. Great review:)

    Is that blush tomato an Artisan from Johnny's? I am growing one called blush with free seeds Johnny's sent me for promoting their company.

    I have tomato plants and you can see them on my channel, I let mine vine out instead of steaking them. I do this to let them grow the way nature programmed them to. Would you do a video comparing and contrasting the two methods? You can use my plant as an example of letting it do whatever it wants method, it is a plum tomato if that makes a difference.

    will spraying the plant fruit with calcium help the cracking?

    Hi Gary... how does the taste compare to sungold cherry tomatoes?

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
      @THERUSTEDGARDEN  Před 10 lety

      Sungold is sweeter. This Blush is a bit less sweet but good. The yellow currant is closer to the sungold.

    could you clone by rooting some of the new little branches...I forget what they are called...have a short term memory loss when I am trying to remember something that I usually know...lol.... and overwinter the baby plants in your heated green house or house?

    • @THERUSTEDGARDEN
      @THERUSTEDGARDEN  Před 10 lety

      Vicki Olson I could if I had a good heat source for January and February. Right now its cost prohibitive. But one day if I get land and a greenhouse... i think I will do that.

    • @vickiolson1198
      @vickiolson1198 Před 10 lety

      I have a south facing plant window in my dining room in my brick house. When I get back there, I think I will be trying it. All I have where I live now is an east facing picture window that is very shady and only has direct sunlight in the very early morning. Not enough I think without adding artificial light. I have overwintered pepper plants in it though...
      I would think that if you did not want to buy seeds every year and did not have the space to separate your varieties in to stop the cross breeding when saving seeds, that if you had enough heated space it would be a great way of increasing the number of plants that you had over the years as well as keeping the breed pure. If you only cloned your biggest and healthiest plants that produced your best tomatoes from year to year, you might even be improving the breed !!!! ahhh !!!! I remember....suckers !!!!

      Next time you have a short term memory, GENTLY tap your forehead about ten times, to see if the memory return.Most of the time time the memory is immediate. Gentle tapping creates new neural circuits by increasing the blood flow of oxygen and nutrients to the brain. You can read the "look inside " section of the book of Tap-A-Cise, on Amazon.com, if you want to know more. Have fun.
