NICE work Chris! Sure is nice having new plumbing on a vehicle. Exhaust leaks drive me nuts. My Volvo 940's exhaust has been hacked together from front to back, and has tiny leaks everywhere. I'm too cheap to do it the right way, lol.
I should've listened to you years ago and never bought the Blazer and Jimmy I owned - would've been way better off (mentally and financially) with a Subaru! 👍
Was surprised to see that much rust - wasn't real bad, but more than I expected for your area. Was that a NJ car?
Also, was that flange a Subaru part, or aftermarket ... and was it made specifically for that application, or was it just a universal fit part? That was pretty slick! 😎

Thanks Smitty, yeah, not bad having to replace the exhaust system every 16 years. It was a NJ car. The flange was specific for the Subaru exhaust, but was not a Subaru OEM part. This is where I got it (not a Sponsor) fxexhaust.com/products.html

Wow i have the same problem right now! Funny because i live in NJ and currently have this problem with a 2003 Subaru Forester. I’m hoping this website can give me the flange i need to fit my cat. Thank you for posting this video!

You took on a big job there. Especially without a lift. The underside of that car is pretty clean.

Thanks Wyatt. I bought this car new, but we lived in the Salt Belt for a number of years. I tried to wash the undercarriage a few times each winter. Looks like the exhaust system still rotted away.

hey Chris can you help me real quick. I just put in a new OE exhaust system + cat converter on my 03 Subaru Forester. there's a tapered flange that connects from the cc to the resonator with spring bolts. do you know if the flange should sleeve over the resonator? without it being seated flush I can't get the springs bolted on. right now I have the bolts on without the springs but there's no tension and it's kind of loose. I'm thinking I need to take a bastard mill to the inside of the flange. what do you think?

Do you have a link to where you bought that flex exhaust flange? Or one similar?
