- Hello everyone! Today we take Big Cat Energy to another level and review the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite. This is the shoe that was seen on the feet on Molly Seidel in her recent half marathon personal best.

Thanks for the review guys. Appreciate your perspectives. They say running doesn’t cost much but many of us disagree so some thoughtful insight help us make decisions. I’m always intrigue with tech and it’s a big motivator to clock miles. My first carbon fiber plate shoe is the Nike Zoomfly Flyknit. Recorded my fastest 5k in it. I’ve also have experience in the Zoomfly 3 and Endorphin Pro. I’ll have in hand the Atreyu Artist soon. I’m intrigue with this Deviate Elite, 361 Flame and the upcoming Boston 10. You’ve hit it on the nail for me as a versatile plated shoe. I’ve also really come to appreciate some volume in the toe box. Looking forward to more future reviews. Keep up the great work.
This review answered everything i wanted to know about this shoe, brilliant guys well done.
I hope they release it properly, not like what Adidas is doing with the Adios Pro (small batches and impossible to find). I found one at 400+ (re seller) . If a company does not want business ill take my business somewhere else and Puma seems to be it for now.
This last section is worthy of its own clip!
What time stamp are you talking about?
33:05 felt like a mini shout-out for me 😉 greetings from the (now graduated) master student!
First run in these today. Knocked 28 seconds off my 5k pb to 17.44. I have been training hard so there is that but they were really quick too. Really soft but springy too a joy to run in.
For feedback on the sound. Matt's sound is definitely the most muddled. It also always seems like Nathan's sound somehow takes priority or is louder. If he is talking then you can't hear anyone else. I do think Dave holding the mic has helped his sound a lot. Now he just needs to get a stand for it to free up his hands.
Great content, guys. Keep it coming. I'm excited to see what this mystery shoe is.
This is helpful feedback. We think our next step is getting us all the same mic to use for some consistency
@@DoctorsofRunning that would probably help a lot. But I'm just being nitpicky since y'all asked.
Finally, an alternative to the Next % in the same weight class and more outsole (interesting what David said about the Alphafly since it also seems like too much shoe after 8-9 miles for me). Looks like a buy (and maybe return my new Next % I purchased for fall marathon).
I found the Puma Liberate Nitro to be a great training shoe. It's a light, flexible shoe that has a big range. As a big time Nike buyer, would love to provide feedback to Puma on how Puma is going to replace my pretty significant purchases there. It sounds like the Deviate Nitro might be a natural transition to racing.
Great review!
Is the mystery shoe the Adidas Takumi Sen? Looks like a similar shoe.
Great review guys. Please keep us posted on durability.
Are you guys also going to test Puma’s stability Nitro? Cheers
We hope to in the near future!
@50:03, who farted? lol
Suitable for wide feet with combs
Curious how y’all feel like the Saucony Endorphin Pro feels compared to this Nitro Deviate. I feel like both feel natural, close behind the performance of AlphaFly and great uppers? Curious to hear y’all’s input.
Good summary guys. I have the deviate nitros on the way.....What’s the mystery shoe ha-ha 🤷♂️🤷♂️😁😁
Between this shoe and the "mystery shoe", I'm completely hyped!
thinking its the ASICS MetaSpeed Sky
@@ItsInstinctKnives Apparently not! Another user asked below if it was that shoe, and they said it wasn't!
If the other shoe is not hyped then what is 😄
Magic Speed?
What was it? Alphafly 2?
Any idea when these will be released in the UK?
Sounds great!
could you guys help me choose between the eternity nitro and nike vomero 16s , which is better out of the two, and more durable and comfortable for daily runs
is nitrogen infused pebax a new thing? nike etc uses just pebax without nitro?
Any idea on the release date?
Tentative April 1. Another is will they release it in small batches because i hate what happened to the Adios pro and im looking somewhere else due to their marketing strategy.
Enjoyed the review, thanks. What was the mystery shoe?
Ironically the shoe got delayed in this year. So still some time to come before we can say what it is a full year later 😂
@@DoctorsofRunning Wow, you guys really get these shoes early!
@@DoctorsofRunning Is it out yet? 😄
Still waiting for the mystery shoe...
So the Deviate elite is peba-nitro foam blend but the Deviate (non-elite) is just nitro tpu foam correct?
TPU or EVA, we haven’t gotten confirmation from Puma
I wonder if Puma has considered putting a drop of human blood in their shoe like Lil Nas X.
HAH!
Is the other shoe the metaspeed sky or another one?
Another :)
Have you had a chance run in and compare to the 361 Flame, specifically stability and midsole feel?
Not yet!
The shoe you can't talk about yet. I would of guessed it to be the Asics MetaSpeed Sky. You said pictures of this mystery shoe won't be released for another 2 months. The pictures for the Asics MetaSpeed Sky were just recently released. Did you mean the shoe won't be coming out for another couple of months or will you get in trouble with the nondisclosure police? I just read now, this Asics super shoe is coming out March 31 so maybe your talk'n about another shoe. I hope the curiosity doesn't kill me or my cat.
Wrong guess :)
My guess is an upcoming Skechers marathon racer. I think I remember Connor from Running Warehouse mentioning a Skechers shoe that he couldn't show or talk about in a video a few months ago. Could be wrong though.
@@DoctorsofRunning Presume it's not the RC Elite 2 since that was already announced. So Skechers Speed Freek? Pic was posted by @believeintherun on IG around the same time, then deleted shortly after, but not before being reposted by @benjohnson763. There was also another leaked pic which u can find on Weibo via Google Images.
Magic Speed?
