So Who are Campervan Journey?
We are JT, Harry, Claire, Sam and Ben, oh and Hunny the Dog. We discovered campervanning in 2015 when we bought our first Volkswagen T5 Combo after seeing many at our favourite campsites. We were staying with our tent, and dreaming that one day we would have our own Campervan. After much research, we bought and converted our own T5 Kombi to suit our requirements, check out the video on the channel. We soon discovered that owning a Campervan is a way of life and it is not just about amazing trips round Europe, it’s as much about great days out and family time…
We have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places with our van, many of which we know we wouldn’t have seen if we had not owned it. They instil a sense of adventure and where shall we go into your life.
After 3 years with the T5, we upgraded to a Volkswagen T6 California Beach, our current van, and we continue to enjoy travelling and visiting some amazing places. You can check out our latest videos and adventures here on the channel !

I think less is more…… we love the fact of not having a complicated set up, we move every night mind I like travelling to new areas and places not going back and fro to a campsite. Glad your set up is working for you. That’s the key is getting what suits your needs not anybody else’s.
Thanks Cathryn, less is definitely more. We didn't miss anything we left behind, except maybe a thick jumper for those chilly mountain nights !
I’ve got the same fridge as you, but mines branded as Just Kampers. It’s been brilliant, lasting several days running off the leisure battery in my van. It’s very efficient.

We’ve reduced the amount of kit we are taking as we have two dogs one of which I’m training to be an assistance dog and they need floor space. Next time we are going LWB and sliding rock and roll bed lol
We’ve got Vanessa bags for our shuttle, they’ve been an absolute game changer (along with packing cubes)

Great tips,we have a air beam awning which is brilliant but heavy and bulky.
I've heard some sites are a bit fussy about pitching a tent as opposed to an awning, have you found the same?
For cooking you can't beat induction hobs if you have hook up.

We had an Airbeam awning with our T5 van, but couldn’t get on with it so went back to a tent. We have not had any issues with campsites thus far, but we do book as a tent and most of the places we go include 1 vehicle on the pitch which the van counts as.
We have seen more and more people using an induction hob, so maybe something for us to investigate further…

What happened about getting a bigger van?
Still on the agenda…lead times are crazy at the moment, over a year for many options so not been easy to see lots of the vans we were considering. We will be visiting some more shows over the next couple of months, hopefully there will be more stock around 🤞
Hi JT, I am very keen on purchasing the Vanessa storage bags and wondered which to choose? As they have options with or without sun blinds with or without linings? We have a Cali Ocean. Do you have any advice please as to which to choose? Oh, and did you buy direct from Vanessa? Thank you . Ian
Hi Ian, thanks for getting in touch, as Beach owners we have found the Vanessa bags a perfect addition for our trips away. We do indeed have blinds on the rear windows, not sure if the Oceans have these, but we bought ours from campervantastic.com. They do have an option detailed for Oceans, so might be worth a look. do you have an electric fan heater for the tent at night? ours works a treat.
We don’t, have not tried that yet. What type do you have ?
We have a Glen 2kw heater, got it from Amazon and it’s a life saver. No need to wrap up at night as you’ll be toasty warm. Perfect in UK and Europe

Do you have power in the tent and van at the same time or just the tent?
@@stephenrichards3395 Hi, at many of the sites we stay at we have been able to plug in both Van and tent. All depends if there is a free socket...! I guess you could also get a cable splitter /adaptor as well as a backup. Thanks for watching and getting in touch, cheers JT
