    Hi Mark. Absolutely itching to get out in this tent come the better weather. The difference in quality between this beauty and some cheaper tents of a similar design has been highlighted in some recent videos I've watched. Frankly I don't regret a penny of my investment. When you think of the extra cost spread over the length of time Hillebergs last it pales into insignificance really.
    Like yourself I can't relate to people who say this tent is difficult to pitch. Once you get the four corners pegged you can't really go wrong can you. Getting it nice and taught, I've found, is just a matter of having the four corner guys angled in a straight line with the opposite apex. Having spent most of my time in coffin tents I absolutely adore the space and headroom in this. I'm the wrong side of 65 now and only started using two trekking poles recently (previously I had used one); so it's come at just the right time since the extra pole is no longer extra weight.
    Anyway I just thought I'd let you know all this trivia, being that it was your videos that played a large part in finally convincing me to invest in this tent.
    Take care.

      Hi Frederick, I'm really glad you're happy with it. I love mine and I totally get where you're coming from regarding tunnel tents. The space inside the Anaris is perfect for me. Weather permitting I'm planning to use mine in a few weeks, I just can't bring myself to put it away and wait for the Spring.

    Great review! I was going to get one of these but it's been out of stock for months. I think you're right that it could probably cope with "mild" winter conditions or wild camping in the garden. For proper winter wild camping, I'll stick with my Soulo. Hope you're recovering now.

      Cheers, Andrew and thanks for watching, it's much appreciated. I'm yet to use it due to Lockdown but will do as soon as I am allowed. So looking forward to it. I have a feeling I'm going to be very surprised how stable it really is.

    Hi Mark, it's a great tent and one I considered before buying my Notch which I continue to be happy with . Like the notch you can have all the doors rolled back one thing I really enjoyed in the summer as you get great veiws through the night.

    Bought one a couple of months ago and haven't had chance to try it yet due to circumstances beyond my control. For a 2 person tent with that much room, I consider 1.4 kilos to be definitely lightweight! Thanks for the review.

      Same here, I haven't had the opportunity to use mine in anger yet. Hopefully soon though when I come out of Tier 3, My first impressions are that its a lot stronger than I may give it credit for. I'm with you on the weight, I think its a lot of tent for 1.4kg, can't wait to get out. Thank you for watching, its much appreciated.

      Cheers mate. The Anaris is right up my street, I had looked at other lightweight walking pole tents but most of what I saw lacked the quality I wanted. Flimsy zips, poor seams etc so I bit the bullet and forked out for the Anaris. I don’t have any regrets at all. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it. 👍

    Hi mate I like the look of that tent and 1.6 k isn’t too heavy either, like you say ideal for spring/summer but I would be inclined to use it in all seasons just drop the poles down a bit and the tent should reach the grass 👌👍 also dropped you a sub, ATB Mark & Simon

    • @QuakerJones268
      @QuakerJones268  Před 3 lety +1

      Cheers, much appreciated. I thought about this tent for a long while and as a saw the availability drop I decided to go with it, plus I got a cracking discount on from Taunton Leisure using my Defence Discount Card. The quality is superb as you'd expect from Hilleberg which makes up for the weight. Its 1.4Kg not 1.6kg so its lighter than you think. I have tried pitching it to the ground and its fine, the only thing is that it reduces the headroom a bit. I will use it during the winter I reckon. Absolutely no regrets buying it. Thanks for the Sub, I subbed you back although I do watch all your vids.

    Great vid thankyou, i got the nallo 2 gt and love it to bits, but wanted something lighter for proper backpacking on dartmoor, funny me and my mate was talking about this one just the just the night why i was in the nallo and hes in the soulo , like you said super hot days be perfect to have i think, and we’re the same 1.4 is super light to us lol, so ditto, so you reckon its worth it over the nallo 2ft for backpacking?

    I do love my Hilleberg Soulo, but I also have a lanshan2 that's got more room and is less than half the weight.
    If you like this design of tent (duplex like) but don't have the budget for a Hilleberg take a look at the lanshan2 - it's a great tent for the money.
