@@aigarius exactly, after a week or two of living with any bmw you get used to the haptic buttons, and honestly the haptic quality and feel itself is super nice and realistic in most models, the ix might be an exception though.
I have one, I never need to look down at them, you find them by feel. Once you have your hand on the idrive controller the top buttons are naturally under your fingers and they have a nub so you can feel where it is.
As a massive BMW fan I would say calling this ugly is the biggest compliment it's ever gonna get. I would rather look at a Hyundai, and if you said that to me a few years ago I would've laughed.
You are not alone. BMW design looks like design degree undergrad capstone projects nowadays. Manufacturers doing well in the ICE era don't mean they will have an edge in the EV era.
The B in the « gear lever » is what you were lookin for for the car to have the strongest engine braking until stop. The button with the car and 3 lines on the wooden plate can set the engine braking on different levels too.
For the one pedal driving, you have to put it in "B" mode which is done by pulling the shifter back again after pulling it once to put it in "D" (drive mode).
This is correct. The Shifter toggles between âDâ and âBâ. The BMW product genius mentioned they kept both modes so that it allows ppl to transition to EVs.
Less confusing on the i4 because they just replaced sport mode on the shifter with B mode, so it came more naturally to me and also kinda mirrors to the downshifting effect of the old sport mode too.
Tbh, that is one HUGE sin đ I'd like to think looks is something a lot if not most people take into account when leasing or buying any vehicle. Hell, even Prius took it to heart. Now the longer I stare at that plastic grill, the worse it looks. At least for the most part that interior is near gorgeous!
Man, I'm at 5 minutes of the video and I already love your feedback, you're not only great in reviewing phone and tech, but really amazing reviewing cars too... Let's see the review on the cup holder weird location and the useless empty space that BMW couldn've used to have a lot of storage in front
Couldn't agree more - not just the case for this car but all of BMWs new designs for the X series SUVs have become extremely minivan like. Extremely strange to see the design language go from sleek German lines to what it's become now.
As a minivan owner, maybe it looks like one but it sure doesn't have the storage functionality of one. Minivans are huge caverns of space. This ain't it. The lack of storage is what I hate about SUVs. They are so inefficient in their space allocation.
it's not that bad, it looks normal considered the other electric cars are looking like a bug. it looks like a normal BMW SUV. i would rather drive this than a sh*tty Tesla
I love the crystal details in my new 760i; they add a lot of class and elegance in a way other luxury car manufacturers are missing. I'm not a big fan of this minimalistic/futuristic look some brands are going all in on. If I'm going to spend over $80K+ on a new vehicle, I want to see and feel fine craftsmanship. Maybe I'm old-school, but I like touching/using well-appointed buttons, knobs, switches, and handles. I like contrast stitching, plush materials, and a vehicle that feels like it's been cut from a solid block of heavy metal. Though, I'm new-school enough to also appreciate the integration of high-end technology. I like the infotainment, the wide HD dashboard screens, the big TV for the rear passengers, the highly detailed software/UI, etc. It's knowing how to balance all of these features that matter, and most car companies aren't getting it right; you either get one or the other, seldom both. Tesla would be a perfect example of a manufacturer that's entirely too minimalist; nothing about their cars seem luxurious. It's unfortunate that a modern car brand produces vehicles that look like an already dated future. What I mean by that is their vehicles resemble old Hollywood movie representations of what cars will be in future, if that makes sense. In some ways it feels like it's already come and gone. However, some extremely high-end car brands, Bentley (for example), have all of the amenities and hand-crafted details you could ever want in a luxury vehicle with the exception of luxurious/updated/attractive software. Their UI often resembles an 1980's DOS system (in some ways), extremely dated. This is where I think BMW is getting it right; you have all of the new and attractive technology with a good amount of interactive and quality details. I'm very satisfied with my BMW, though, I don't really like the look of this particular one from the outside. I think EV's in general look pretty bad.
The design feels like what would happen if someone who wanted a sleek, futuristic car and someone who really dug those early 90s glass and metal tables fought.
Love your channels and reviews MKB! Any chance youâll be able to do a review/test drive on a Fisker Ocean One/Extreme/Ultra/Sport in the near future? Thanksâđœ
Love your car reviews! I own the ix with the sports package and after market Vossen wheels, and I love it's looks. So the rattling sound the door makes is due to the frameless windows. Also there is a B mode which does one pedal driving.
Hand gestures to adjust settings would be a game changer in a Tesla that does not have buttons. Especially useful when driving. Would love to see this type of update for cars that have the inside camera.
You do know that you can edit the same controls in Tesla with physical buttons that he did with his hand for the BMW right? Next track and volume controls can be done with the physical scroll wheel buttons on Tesla's steering wheel.
That gesture control has been there for a long time now, always been like that. Mostly works but it is annoying or irritating when it doesn't work and makes you look stupid in front of people
Could someone watch you some how through the sensor, if they could somehow hack into the car? Just curious, hypothetically. Like all they would see is shapes with no color and ultra low detail?
This is a review of a car by a guy who has owned and driven very few cars. I mean, didn't he say the first new car he owned was a model S? Then he promptly smashed it?
All you have to do click down in the drive selection switch to enter B mode and it will allow you down to zero quite quickly. Then toggle it down again to go back into D and coast. It auto brakes to cars in front of you in D mode so sometimes you think you're in one pedal mode but it's really not. If you want it to come to a complete stop then you need to be in B mode.
So I got mine a few months ago and I'm in the UK so there are some slight differences. 1. Yes the front looks like bunny teeth till you know that it's self healing material and protects the sensors and driver aids which is pretty awesome. 2. My kids use the gesture gimmick to change the songs and increase the volume all the time đ 3. I do not like BMW but every time I get into my car it's like being in a warm blanket on a cold winter's day. Really amazing feeling. 4. The absolute worst part I have with this car is managing the aircon, why do you need to open some rubbish app to increase or decrease heat... My kids love it, wife loves it, grandson loves it so I love it. My personal issue with it is the range. On paper I'm meant to get 215m but am only getting 180 at a push. Again, I'm not a fan or BMW at all and my choice after a number of test drives was either BMW or the MACH-E and am happy with my choice of the BMW IX Hope this helps anyone looking to buy the car
Really LARGE self healing bunny teeth. They should get rid of that grill design across all the models its too polarising. You either love it or absolutely hate it.
@AutoFocus i don't pretend do be an expert but, isn't that sound from the door soft close system which you bypass by "slamming" it to hard? I have to check myself when i get around to see the car
Yeah, the bright headlights on many new cars are really great. /s. I almost have to wear sunglasses when driving at night because those headlight coming towards me is like staring at the sun.
Tbf, I can't recall a time I've had an issue with BMW lights facing me in the oncoming lane. Or any of the German brands. It's normally Tesla, Toyota, or some lifted truck that blinds me. Then there's the people the have auto high beams that don't work well and is on 90% of the time blinding everyone around them.
My daughter and I pass one of these yesterday. Before I could say a word my daughter said/yelled "What is that incredibly ugly car" She is 15 and does not car about cars except they be electric so for her to notice the aesthetics is something!
Thanks for a great review. I am a happy BMW i4 edrive40 driver. The standard wheels on the i4 look much better than the standard wheels on the IX. The IX has upgraded wheels available and i strongly recommend them. As other comments have said, the full regen you want is avaiilabe by driving in B mode. Lastly, the i4 edrive 40 has a similar center console but not the wood veneer. the buttons are easier to see and use on the I4. I kinda like the look of the front of the iX. It has grown on me.
Don't own the i4 but did test drive it, I feel like it hits a sweet spot that the iX misses. It's like the iX either needed to back off more like the i4, or go even crazier like the i7.
"great review" You should try to watch savage geese or something. This video is such poor quality and shows how much marques cares. I mean comparing his tech channel to this is a night and day difference. Stop commenting this :) u know there are way better reviews
The capacitive touch and delay make it feel very unintuitive and i think that would bother me the most about the car being that you have to interact with it everyday. I love tactile feedback
Agreed. This is a fauIt imo. Never understood why manufacturers keep going this direction. Love the looks though. As someone heavily into cars but never into BMW's, the newer designs are perfect, much better than when BMW's all looked the same.
I test drove this car in this exact spec a year before buying it, but when I bought, the sport pack became almost standard equipment and does make the car a lot better looking. In real life, Iâve never gotten so many compliments on a car, and I use to daily a Porsche 911 GT3.
Marques you should definetely review the Q8 Etron. We have the previous 2019 generation and have done a lot of driving all around Europe with it. You see a lot of them here in Western Europe too. I am interested to see your take on the new facelifted one with like 500km range and 180 kw charging speeds.
I thought first gesture controll is gimmicky too, but driving 7-series and 8-series for the past 7 years now, I don't want to miss it. It's the most used feature I use in the car except gas, break and assist controls...
It should have 400 mile range, especially since you might be carrying a full load and possibly towing something. It really needs more range. Also, on the interior. the front portion of the interior has that open area and I can see people having things roll into the driver's compartment causing a potential issue. I don't know why they just didn't have a center console. It should also have a hot/cold cup holders in the front. đ Yeah, the crystal thing is stupid as are the capacitive buttons in the middle, that's kind of silly. I think there should be HVAC control be physical buttons.
I love mine, even though my kids named it Chuck. Hand gestures definitely a gimmick. This video reminded me that was even an option. Another big miss was no tow hitch or roof rails for a rack option. But it really is that comfortable and that quick. Heads up display option also shows CarPlay iPhone map directions. Well integrated.
Would be cool to see some of these shot at night with all their led light accents. Same for some of the previous videos you've done. Awesome review as always.
For one pedal driving you move the gear shift down once more while in drive and it will be in the "B" mode, that will allow one pedal driving Edit: you can turn it on or off while driving
I have a 2018 530i that has gesture controls, itâs not something I use often, kinda makes you look crazy in traffic but fun to show passengers etc lol
Grabbing a portion of the speaker grille fabric as part of the interior door handle is an interesting design choice. I'm curious how it would look after a couple of months of lotioned hands or bits of hand sanitizer will affect that material.
I know a few people who own this car and all of them keep praising it. So I did a test drive last week and have to say I like it a lot. The Chesnut leather interior looks really good. The B&W sound system is the BEST I've heard in a car. And I think the killing part is the driving experience. It's so smooth and quite. The handling made me feel like driving a small sedan. I wish it could have the look of the new X5 and price cheaper.
@@sierraairehvac agree w Xiong comment above, Iâve own 2 prev teslas, have the ix now. Great build quality, way quieter, smoother ride than either my prev model y and 3. Plenty fast, range exceeds epa. I have the m60 and get over 300. My y and 3 always underperformed epa range. Also have the b&w sound system which is incredible . Has icon led headlights which are great, very roomy interior , though trunk a bit smaller than the y. Software intuitive and responsive , not as good as the Tesla UI but way better than say Mercedes.
@@jfrid1942 youâre absolutely right. I currently own and drive a Tesla Model 3 so can 100% relate. I like the charging network and software UI. However the overall driving experience in an iX is way better than my model 3. I guess itâs unfair to compare these two cars as theyâre not the same price category. Model X should be its component but it is also priced higher. In terms of range, my Tesla is always performing under its promise. In winter it only achieves 50% ~ 60% of its claimed range. I donât own iX so I canât say for sure. But just from what I heard itâs far more consistent to its claim.
@@sierraairehvac Model S/X are overpriced for what you get. What's so much better about the model X tech versus the iX? Tesla's charging network is open to all other brands in Europe and is opening up in the US; it's not an advantage anymore; and frankly regulators should have cracked down on Tesla's proprietary network built with subsidized money years ago... Tesla's big advantages in this segment are 0-60 time (do buyers really care about 3.8 seconds vs 4.4?), cargo room (definite advantage), and available (but extremely expensive) 3rd row options. For those who care more about luxury than performance and don't want a 3 row vehicle, then cargo room is the only real standout. The only technology feature Tesla has that BMW should probably adopt is sentry mode while parked. Otherwise, the BMW has better parking assistance tech, better parking cameras (360 view), a HUD, android Auto / apple carplay capabilities, steering wheel stalk controls, comparable ADAS, rear wheel steering, radiant heated panels, laser headlights, B&W sound system, more free paint options, more free interior color options, available real leather, better noise insulation, better ride, more wheel options at lower prices, more service locations. Tesla has entertainment options built into its screen, but then those are easily replaced with tablet computers, Nintendo Switch, or Steam decks. Difference being that kids/passengers can actually use those other devices while the car is driving. Teslas don't allow steam to be used on the back screen, nor while the car is in motion. Plus, the back screen is worthless for games and at a weird angle. No one wants to pivot their head to the side for an extended period of time unless they want a neck cramp. It really goes with the philosophy that Tesla just rapidly integrates technology without really thinking all that much about its use... whereas other companies are considerate in their implementations. The model X has also been a service nightmare over the years. From front water intrusion, to suspension issues (failing control arms), to rear passenger door alignment issues, and at its higher price point (recently discounted) both the interior and exterior quality just isn't comparable to the other luxury brands. Why have so many people bought them since 2016? I imagine it's mostly due to a previous lack of options and availability from other brands, or because a lot of Tesla shareholders made a lot of money on the stock and used it to buy an expensive vehicle. BTW, didn't the iX 50 beat the model X in the 70 mph range test? It's definitely a bit of a shame that BMW lost its US federal EV tax credit that would have lowered the price of the iX by $7500, given that they still had quota left with the old federal tax policy. A blunder by the Biden administration, IMO. It would have been fair to allow brands to finish out their quota for vehicles made outside the US. It isn't like the iX is made in a third world country or China; it's made in Germany with well paid and well treated labor!
â@@updlate4756 Well said. I went for a Model X test drive today. And I agree that the cargo room is probably the only significant advantage. The falcon wings look cool. But I'm not sure how practical/reliable they're in real life. From what I tried, it took much more time for both opening/closing. And due to the structure, the 2nd row passenger don't get much glass roof. The driving experience is definitely much more comfortable than my Model 3. I guess it's mainly due to the air suspension. But it feels much heavier and less agile than iX. For the tax credit, the BMW sales told me they were still able to frontload the tax credit if I do leasing, like giving $7500 credit up front.
As an avid driver, gesture control is great while driving. Itâs super convenient and you can change music, lower volume, mute the song without any distractions. Great for drive-through as well
I own the ix and its the best driving car Iâve ever experienced. One note: to get to regenerative driving mode, you pull back the lever shift after being in drive mode to âBâ mode and you then have one pedal driving. Also, my car doesnât have the wood looking center console, but rather piano black. Didnt like the look of wood in a hi tech car, but piano black does show fingerprints. My only complaint is all the tech starts to get confusing. Also might be the old foggy in me, but have no interest in haptics where you wave your hand in front of the radio for volume control or to change stations. Same for hands free drivingâŠ.zero use for that even though the car has it.
I honestly think this is best car review channel on youtube, you don't just mention the flashy cool features, you go in depth in describing the honest experience (pros and cons) of actually using the vehicle. Thank you!
Like the other commenter mentioned, your not a car enthusiast if you think Marques knows what heâs talking about. (Excluding infotainment/software) Heâs the sorta guy whoâd review a gt3 car and complain that it doesnât have a usable front trunkâŠ
One-Pedal drive is the B mode on the shifter, it has soft close doors so you don't hear any rattles when you use them. Marques needs to do more research
These videos are super cool and shooting them on the Phones was a great touch but can you adjust the PAN on the Audio during post. Please centre all the audio. Its kinda disconcerting when your voice pans all the way across the speakers especially when listening on headphones.
Hi Marques! There are some details in this video that somebody at the dealership should tell you, so you could tell your viewers, that could change the way people look at this car. First of all, of course there is a one pedal mode, you just have to put it in B mode. Also, you can personalize the BMW iX as you wish, this is not a Tesla. You can change the colour of the grill, and also the bronze trim, you can change it to black. You can also change the Cristals inside, and choose those buttons in metal. The usb c in the back arent regular usb c, it's 45W usb c, so you can charge your laptop. The door closing sound is like that because of the materials that are chosen to build the car, as carbon fiber. And also the plastic grill is not normal plastic, it's auto regenerative and hides all the radar and sensors. And as it's obvious you can change the wheels to something much more beautiful, as the 21 or 22'. You can also have sport package. So, as you can see, most of the things that you mention in the video are things that could be changed, and you would know that if somebody told you. One of the many advantages premium brands have over Tesla, is the way you can personalize the car, and that should be mentioned. Anyway, I usually love your videos but in this one you should also have done a better research
Marques, I love your work but I agree with the person above. I feel like whoever delivered this car to you either didn't give you the full scoop or you chose not to tell the full scoop.

Nice review and one of the few reviewers that highlights the front door issue. You may think that the car looks ugly but I think it looks cool and aggressive. However the front doors shuts sounding like a trash can. I bought my car from BMW Park Lane and they say that it is normal for this car to sound like that as the doors are made with light materials
I came so close to getting one of these last month, but at the last second went with the x5 phev and it was an excellent decision. about the same price but the x5 has real buttons. honestly its the better car
The door sounds funny because you're not really supposed to slam it due to the auto shut feature. It closes by itself with a slight push. I think the grill looks cool, bro. It has an option to micmic a broom sound created by a famous sound artist. The oberhead window can also block some of the sunlight when it does the fog up feature. This car is super awesome. Just got one a week ago.
The m sport model (I think just called sport in the US ) with the 21 or 22 inch wheels and the shadow line package looks a lot better, when I first saw this car in pictures I thought it was ugly too and couldnât really understand why the reviewers were saying the interior was so good as it just looked ok to me but after seeing it in real life and sitting in it I was shocked how much I liked it and ended up ordering one in phytonic blue to replace my eqc , itâs hopefully coming in June and I canât wait
I have the m60 blacked out with black rims etc, itâs awesome. Love it way more than my prev model y. Expensive but you actually feel like you bought a luxury vehicle which I never did with my prev Teslas
Bought one. (M60) Love it. Love the look, love the sound, Love the ride, nearly zero complaints. (Didn't go with the crystals, did go with the actually sexy black & bronze/gold wheels) Gesture controls are awesome/useful. The Bowers Wilkens sound system (the higher option) is the best thing smoking.
I have the crystal dial in a 22 850 with idrive 7. It's actually very nice when you get used to it. The top of it is also like a touchpad that you can use to manually enter data by just drawing the character.
I would have to say Guilty of 2 Sins, there is a huge issue with BMW Quietly removing the Air Suspension from both the 40 & 50 Models, which drastically changes the drive characteristics of this car. Many of the reviews recommend the 50 as it "had" Air Suspension as standard, which unfortunately now isn't the case, they even removed it from owners cars without notifying them, only to find out upon delivery reading through spec lists. For that reason alone I would not go for a BMW IX, I'm a previous I3 owner and really appreciate what a piece of striking design the IX is, but clarity to existing and potential customers really is a deal breaker. Being in the UK we certainly feel the automotive boom in the US, there is no doubt that the UK is crying out for cars Like the Rivian R1S /R1T, and the Ford Bronco, at the moment, Land Rover are left to rule the roost with their Defender, and whilst a great car, there are serious reliability issues and they are yet to release a fully electric Defender. As a side note I really enjoy both both your tech and automative videos, would love to see a top gear style show with you traveling across the states in various EV's, relay style.
What I like about the new bmws is, that they support the new digital key standard for digital key plus on iOS and at least the normal digital key on android
The iX is actually built on a EV dedicated platform from the ground up. It's actually the first purpose-built electric vehicle from BMW since the i3. Just because it doesn't have a frunk doesn't mean it wasn't built on a EV only platform.

I donât know why the âahhhâ at 13:13 made me laugh so hardđ
I think it might be ahhh, the kids in the car will make you go nuts playing around.
Exactly my mind reaction, perfectly executed
Same! LOL
The design feels like what would happen if someone who wanted a sleek, futuristic car and someone who really dug those early 90s glass and metal tables fought.
And they both lost! đ€Ł
Seems silly but that sort of thing often happens behind the scenes when it looks that way on the final product!
Canât believe its the same company that designed the i3. i3 looks so much better than this.
And a third person definitely was part of the fight, a person who is fascinated with beavers
makes sense.
It HAS one pedal drive to stop. You just need to put in B mode! It then stops all the way and has stronger regen.
That disgusted look on Marques's face at 9:27 when he slams the cheapest sounding doors in the world...absolitely priceless.
But he drives a tesla. I drive tesla and no other car has the cheapest sounding door than a tesla. Impossible for any other car to sound cheaper.
â@@dipesh267 But then BMW said "Hold my bier."
All frameless doors sound cheap. Teslas especially so since the interior door card is so flimsy.
â@@dipesh267 he drives a model s. Have you ever driven a model s? That doors sound real meaty
Agree!!!, that face to me looks like OCD
Cmon man! That motion control is pretty sick. Anything to keep your eyes on the road is great.
Hand gestures to adjust settings would be a game changer in a Tesla that does not have buttons. Especially useful when driving. Would love to see this type of update for cars that have the inside camera.
Or they could add buttons that responde immediately
You do know that you can edit the same controls in Tesla with physical buttons that he did with his hand for the BMW right? Next track and volume controls can be done with the physical scroll wheel buttons on Tesla's steering wheel.
bmw has this for a decade
"in a Tesla that does not have buttons"
Yeah, that totally doesn't sound brainless at all.
Better voice control would be preferable.
That gesture control has been there for a long time now, always been like that. Mostly works but it is annoying or irritating when it doesn't work and makes you look stupid in front of people
It's a nice feature for the passenger(s) to use; whether that is a good thing or not is up to the driver.
Could someone watch you some how through the sensor, if they could somehow hack into the car?
Just curious, hypothetically.
Like all they would see is shapes with no color and ultra low detail?
Me 1 hour agođđ
This is a review of a car by a guy who has owned and driven very few cars. I mean, didn't he say the first new car he owned was a model S? Then he promptly smashed it?
His biggest compliment on the looks was that the headlights were bright đ
He said that bright headlights are good
He might be one of those people who drive with their brights on at all times, blinding people. Seems more and more people do this nowadays.
@@Charlesbjtown BMW Laserlight is supposed to not do that.
Those sensors are probably the same one that tesla uses for coalision detecton.
Love your reviews. I like the gestures and use them all the time on my Current X5
Calling this car ugly is the biggest sin.
5:23 the seat with that plastic hole is like a screaming alien đ
Gotta say i really love this channel. Cant afford anything showcased, but its fun to watch
You should definitely drive the cars and give a review of the driving feel and the general experience (ie. Acoustics, ride quality etc)
Hey, I don't know how long you've been doing it, I just noticed it, but props for the actually good captions
I paused the video and showed my mom this car and asked what she thought.
Her gut reaction noise was "eeughh".
Very accurate summary.
Totally agree with you about the design the look of the car.
Are those lights on the sides of the hatchback opening? (2:50) I've never seen anything like that before.
..... quite simply the best reviewer of stuff on CZcams, always worth a watchđ
So I got mine a few months ago and I'm in the UK so there are some slight differences.
1. Yes the front looks like bunny teeth till you know that it's self healing material and protects the sensors and driver aids which is pretty awesome.
2. My kids use the gesture gimmick to change the songs and increase the volume all the time đ
Again, I'm not a fan or BMW at all and my choice after a number of test drives was either BMW or the MACH-E and am happy with my choice of the BMW IX
Hope this helps anyone looking to buy the car
Part of the range issue may be the temperature since it's been winter the last few months (presumably since you got the car, ish)
lol bunny đŠ·đŠ·đ°
Really LARGE self healing bunny teeth. They should get rid of that grill design across all the models its too polarising. You either love it or absolutely hate it.
why would someone in their right mind buy an electric BMW? a company is almost dead!!
@afonsosalbrecht their share price has gone up 20% this year and expanding production capability. They are not going anywhere.
My wife's new car, not the prettiest, not big and burly, but efficient to run, comfortable to ride and quick to respond, just like me. She loves it.
Loving this channel more and more, Lol. Need more MKBHD in my life!
My daughter and I pass one of these yesterday. Before I could say a word my daughter said/yelled "What is that incredibly ugly car" She is 15 and does not car about cars except they be electric so for her to notice the aesthetics is something!
Check out the configurator. It looks much better with the sport package. Of course there are several colors to choose from too.
No hate but the front of this is car is genuinely shockingly hideous to me. To each there own ig but man I just cant understand it
it's a butt. Somebody sat onto the front of your car and left an imprint. You may even say it's butt-ugly
i4 and M4 's grill now looks quite good compared to iX
I really love how the car looks like
You also look like the car
I test drove this car in this exact spec a year before buying it, but when I bought, the sport pack became almost standard equipment and does make the car a lot better looking. In real life, Iâve never gotten so many compliments on a car, and I use to daily a Porsche 911 GT3.
A lot of tech under that grill. Plus it self heals if rocks chip it. Very nice car
It should also have a hot/cold cup holders in the front. đ
Yeah, the crystal thing is stupid as are the capacitive buttons in the middle, that's kind of silly.
Is that an US thing? In Europe the IX can tow up to 2.5 tons.
@@Psi-Storm I think so. At least when I ordered mine they werenât options.
I love the look. I mean the door closing sound is classic BMW. the grill does look weird. but if we can change colours and stuff it would look dope
The bull balls grill got me dying đ
Maybe I missed it but what's under the bonnet?
Would be cool to see some of these shot at night with all their led light accents. Same for some of the previous videos you've done. Awesome review as always.
Electric cars do have some interesting lighting arrangement. I would love to see some night shots.
@@TheGlobalProfessional yeah each car has its own style too
Not sure why my mind went right to shot (with a shot gun) at night, maybe cuz the car is so ugly that's what really needs to be done with it...
@@WadeMcLure it really is ugly :P
For one pedal driving you move the gear shift down once more while in drive and it will be in the "B" mode, that will allow one pedal driving
Edit: you can turn it on or off while driving
I have a 2018 530i that has gesture controls, itâs not something I use often, kinda makes you look crazy in traffic but fun to show passengers etc lol
Pricey, definitely yes ! Ugly ? , ...beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't consider it ugly.
Grabbing a portion of the speaker grille fabric as part of the interior door handle is an interesting design choice. I'm curious how it would look after a couple of months of lotioned hands or bits of hand sanitizer will affect that material.
totally agree.
There is a handle in the insight you can use...
I would love to see a Autofocus on the Subaru Solterra as someone who is very interested. Love the videos though and the honesty!
Does it require a subscription for turning on the headlights or turn signals?
Love how the back seat AC control is more functional than the driver.
Great for drive-through as well
Hey itâs me, the person in the comments you predicted would like the look of the car.
Thank you!
lol I guess you're not a car guy
Like the other commenter mentioned, your not a car enthusiast if you think Marques knows what heâs talking about. (Excluding infotainment/software)
Heâs the sorta guy whoâd review a gt3 car and complain that it doesnât have a usable front trunkâŠ
Yup actually f electric cars. That's bs
One-Pedal drive is the B mode on the shifter, it has soft close doors so you don't hear any rattles when you use them. Marques needs to do more research

the rattles are still inexcusable. My 05 Taurus doesn't even do that

Can I personalize it to get rid of the ugly nostril in front and just have no grill since it's an EV and doesn't need one?
Marques, I love your work but I agree with the person above. I feel like whoever delivered this car to you either didn't give you the full scoop or you chose not to tell the full scoop.
@@raddaks2039 No you can't, because the vertical grills are around since 1933 and it's not a matter of function, it's about looks and brand recognition, it's heritage

And so we can see the nighttime modern smartphone camera experience đ
There is a one pedal driving mode, when you put the gear lever into D, you drop it again and it puts it into B which is the one pedal driving mode.
The folder s are mostly used to store the hazard warning vests which in Germany are mandatory for you to have for each passenger
No one stores them there, theyâre all in the trunk
Also great place for kids to store half eaten lollipops.

Which camera was the video taken with?
What I like about the new bmws is, that they support the new digital key standard for digital key plus on iOS and at least the normal digital key on android
The iX is actually built on a EV dedicated platform from the ground up. It's actually the first purpose-built electric vehicle from BMW since the i3. Just because it doesn't have a frunk doesn't mean it wasn't built on a EV only platform.
i appreciate you calling BMW out for this design. what are they smoking over there, the fact this design made it through blows my mind
It's actually a dedicated platform. Just for the iX. The no drunk was just an early engineering decision to not have it. Wish it was there also.
