I'm a moto fan boy... Been rocking moto for 15 yrs or more now.... Sticking with them through the ups and downs. Motorola is decent on pricing.... They don't try to rip your mouth out.
Same here I went to Samsung twice, I always came back to Motorola. The ecosystem is just better.

I was never into flip phones but now that Floss has invented the word "flipologist" I must get the Razr so I go around flipping it open making that sound and telling everyone I'm a flipologist.
I rocked a bunch of flip phones as a teen, so I'm glad this came back. It's the main reason I copped a Z Flip 4
I think this might end up being the first flip phone I will end up buying. Haven't been this excited for a new phone for a long time. Guess I'll wait for the full review though, since it's not been out long yet. As always, really appreciate how in-depth Flossy's hands on videos are, especially from a buyers point of view to get a good taste of what it's like to use any product.

I traded in my Razr 5G I have had since launch in 2020. Never had a issue with it and screen still looked like new.

Looking forward to the full review of this. IMHO slab phones have gotten way too big and this fold form factor is impressive, especially being able to do most things on the outside display.

I ended up pulling the trigger a couple days ago. Really loving it so far. Even typing on the secondary display is surprisingly easy as it feels like a regular sized keyboard with the only difference being that it fills the entire screen. Had lengthy conversations on this thing and the battery life when only using the cover display is amazing. Very simple games even something like the classic angry birds or hill climb racing is weirdly more fun on the cover screen 😂

The fact that the volume up and down buttons change depending on if the phone is folded or not shows you how much attention to detail has gone into this phone

The fact that they supply you with a case AND a charger is something I really wish other companies would adopt. So sad how every compant went from having headphones and wall adapters and cords... to just cords

@MumenRider78 protectors part of the screen you peel it off you mess your phone up right on the box have a z flip 5 RN ask for a screen protector for my big screen they said if you take the one it has and don't have a professional samsung guy there you WILL mess it up and there are no protectors for the big screen.

Moto brought what I wanted to see in a flip phone. Full apps on the external display. I want to run the Nano Teleprompter app on a flip phone with really good cameras.
The more i see this the more I'm interested in this phone. I grew up in the flip phone era so this would be like returning to my roots. Im actually getting tired of these rectangle phones. Variety in needed
Compared to the recently released Oppo Find N2 Flip, the Razr 40 Ultra edges out with a better chipset and a bigger outer display that can run full-fledged apps. On the other hand, Oppo's contender has superior camera experience, longer battery life and faster charging - features hard to ignore when the asking price is about the same.
The oppo is the one I had my eyes on to begin with until I saw this moto razr and I do believe I like this better. Never had a motorolo phone but a little out of my price range at the moment. Love it though ❤
PPi patrol in the house. I love that the inner display is 6.9 inches. I hope the big & flat screens come back in a big way
That is such a cool phone. So in theory we should be able to save a bit of battery by just using the outside display, right? One thing I would’ve added to the phone is a spring for the flip mechanism. It would’ve made the flip more confident and satisfying, but it would mean no half-open mode.
Yes since you are only using half of the phone screen (or less than half).
I don't think you'd get such huge battery savings. The processor will still work as normal, and afaik that's the biggest battery drainer. Also, you paid for a full display, why only use half? XD
@@leonro because you have the option to. Being able to have the option is worth more than not having the option at all. Even if it ends up being a smaller end result.
I think having the bigger outer display means less needing to open and closing it to have the inner screen protector eat shit after almost a year. I hope that makes sense actually.
@@leonrodisplay is a big battery drainer. Just compare battery life with high and low brightness to see this.
Worried about the quality tbh. Seems hard to get a case for it, as well as motorola not keeping up with their device coverage regarding software updates.

I think this will be my last year having a iPhone. I got a new job where we use androids and carding 4 devices is hell. One thing I’ve appreciated about androids throughout the years is like you said they not only listen to consumers but they actually make some dope tech
Last iphone I had was the iphone 7 plus. Been android since. I do not miss Iphone one bit! With this foldable would b a great time to switch 😂. People saying the camera is not that great. My argument always is that I own several cameras, as I do photography as a hobby. If I want amazing images I just grab my camera. As long as the camera on the phone is decent, it's all I need. Plus I aways edit the images anyways.
Coning back to this, this was my first ever folding phone. And i absolutely adore it. Really hope itll stay alive long enough for me to keep using it for another few years.

Motorola did such a good job with this. And with the RAZR 40 rumored to be priced maybe $500 or $600, it will sell like hotcakes and will entice foldable noobs to the form factor.
Please do your usual review, gaming test, sound test, video, and cameras. I am liking this phone so far!

Floss video always on point
I received my Razr Plus yesterday, June 28th. Really want to love this version as the flip style implementations are preferred compared to a brick style smart phone. So far battery life is good to great. I am a moderate user and find much of the use to be snappy. I have noted that at times my transition between apps and scrolling to be somewhat jerky and not as smooth and polished as I have come to expect. I will put this through the paces to see if this is right for me. Thank you for the good review. I look forward to a follow up review for the Razr Plus.
Day two of my use and overall the battery life is adequate. My initial observation is the Flip phone competition is good for overall product development to ensure everyone innovates instead of just doing the bare minimum and calling it an upgrade.
Ultimately I will end returning my Glacier Blue Razr Plus. This device is nice, but I am disappointed in the overall product. In my opinion, this device does need the premium specs to include the latest processor as well as 12 GB of RAM. The Razr will be a great Phone for most users, however it will not merit my long term use.

Been a Flossy subscriber since the day he arrived on CZcams. Like always, he has the straight dope on mobile phones. And also like usual, Flossy's RAZR+ review did not disappoint.
After seeing his review on the RAZR+ I didn't hesitate to order mine directly from Motorola (a "Lenovo" company). I too snapped up the magenta color (so I can see the darn thing when it is tossed on a clothes pile).
P.S. I was initially debating which flip phone to buy, but with everyone giving the RAZR+ from excellent to rave reviews, I decided on it. The decision was also made easy because I have been using Lenovo PCs, notebooks, and tablets for 15 years or longer, I trust this Chinese brand. (I have never had a Lenovo product fail. In fact, I still have every Lenovo product I have purchased. They all work, but are now dust collectors.)

In terms of battery, the Flip 5 would be way better and last longer since it will be using SD8 Gen 2 (the one used by S23 series) while this Razr is just using SD8 Gen 1. But let us see once the Flip 5 comes out.

Another Flosstastic review. Been waiting for this one - really thinking of getting my first non-Sammy phone since the S6. The real appeal to me is to be able to do mostly every app on the front screen. I get so deep into the specs that sometimes 2:37 I have to remind myself Floss is from nyc. 🤣

So I currently have the S23 regular 256g. Lovely little powerhouse and fun to play with. Have to say, immediately after owning it, I did miss having a bigger screen. Someone pointed this out to me before I bought it. I don't use it as much as I used phones with bigger screens but this razr seems like the perfect sweet spot 👌🏻 best of both worlds. And a gigantic 6.9 screen which is awesome. I think I'm gonna go for it. Looking forward to the full review floss! Peace out ✌🏻❤

Already preordered my plus through att for 182 bucks. Had a 2020 that lost its screen after 3 and a half years. But I still love the small footprint and smart phone capabilities. Cheers.

I traded in my iphone 13 pro to get the S23 Ultra. The phone is a beast and no regrets at all.
If possible, keep your iPhone as backup; I tried switching full time and I couldn’t, so now i have both the S23U and iPhone 14 PM. Two of my friends also tried and they couldn’t as well but they had traded in their iPhones and regretted it.
Man I've had two samsung flip, kind of disappointed they didn't come out with a bigger front screen, Motorola knocked it out of the park.
Rumor has it that your wish will be granted with the Z Flip 5
If it is a foldable phone and becomes small, the internal screen should have been wider in the classic 16:9 format because it is too tall and thin. It's so weird and reminds me of the external screen from the Samsung Z Fold series. If it had been wider, the 16:9 image would have been seen larger and better framed, without black side bars. However, the internal screen cannot be controlled with just one hand. It's too long. At least if it was also wide in the 16:9 format. Thus the external screen would have been larger too, much more closer to 16:9 format. 90% of the time of use you can handle the phone with the phone closed. This way you rediscover the pleasure of a small phone for basic stuff.
