- Hi, We are Elaine, Darren, Max.
As soon as we are able, we will drive our Ford Transit
self-build campervan to our little house and land in Central Portugal.
In the meantime we continue to enjoy things here in the UK, and we get a lot of enjoyment from sharing them with you.
In this video we do the Low Force to High Force Waterfalls walk. We have lived in this part of the world most of our lives but have never done this walk before. We will certainly do it again. We truly hope you enjoy the video.
Thanks so much for watching and most importantly don forget to give this video a like, and subscribe if you haven't already.
If you would like to support our channel further, maybe you would like
to buy us a coffee, we do hope that maybe one day soon we can
do the same for you.

What a beautiful place. Thanks for taking us there!
You're welcome Karen, we thoroughly enjoyed the day and slept well too !
That waterfall is amazing. 🌊
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you
Beautiful scenery. Love the stone buildings and stone walls. What a beautiful terraced waterfall. So brave to cross the bridge. Can you just imagine the history around these special serene places. Wonderful these places are protected and maintained for the public. Perfect spot for a picnic. Isn't it so much fun to be young and retired. What a lovely day you had. Safe Driving! All the Best! - Vanessa
Good morning Vanessa, I'm so happy that you enjoyed the video.
It was a lovely trip away and just showed you don't have to travel far for a total escape.
You are right about the area being well looked after, the first bridge, we crossed, was over 200 years old and a plaque told a sad story of how the original bridge had failed after many years and 3 local workers plunged into the river below!
Thank you again, Elaine
wow..another beautiful place
Hello Lucia, you're right, it is beautiful.
Thank you watching :)
(Moira Ashton) Oh that was beautiful !! And dear Max enjoyed himself too, Those waterfalls were amazing, what is it about rivers and waterfalls? Sort of magical! Your camper van looked so cosy when you were playing scrabble, I loved the stone sheep, and the inscription on the stones by "A walker" a lovely lovely vlog, thank you muchly!🥰 😍 🥰 😍 🐕🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑xxxx
Evening Moira, Hope you are well.
Glad you enjoyed the video, Max really enjoyed himself and was shattered by the time we got back to the van.
Have a good week, Elaine

Just stunning. the waterfalls, you couldn't have picked a better place to visit. Well done. Jim and Harriet from Richmond , Va.
Thank you
Ah! Travel Scrabble ❤️ such memories you invoke, and the colour of the water, peat stained, ❣️ I just loved your day out. 👍
Hello Jane, glad you enjoyed our day out too.
Yes the water was like rushing cola, tumbling over the rocks. Max seemed to really enjoy it!
Darren and I thought your latest video was excellent, I may be asking you lots of questions about food storage when we eventually get to producing some of our own.
Take care, Elaine
I noticed the peat stained water, I remember wondering why that colour when I was in Scotland, Greetings from New Zealand, winter here but still pretty warm.
We avoid the 689 Nenthead to Cowshill Road it’s too dodgy .
Yes they needed an R in front of Ejecting
Hi Ivy yes it's a lovely colour isn't it. Very interesting indeed. Thanks so much for watching our videos and commenting, it's always lovely to hear from you :)
Ah! I love High Force! It’s years since we’ve been though. Can’t believe you’ve got to pay now! Scoundrels😂. Middleton in teesdale is so beautiful. I’d love to get myself a little small holding there .....dreams!
I do enjoy Middleton, but my heart is in Weardale really.
I hope you get your dream, but wow the prices there now are wild!
Thanks for watching, hope your allotment is doing as well as it looks in your videos. ...I love your give it a go attitude ☺
That walk was stunning and the waterfalls were magnificent. Great that you are staying in England for hottest part of the summer. The Indie Project are finding the heat in Portugal very hard to take while working. Thanks for sharing your lovely adventures. Looks more like Maxx taking you two for a walk.
Good morning Ivy, hope you are well.
Max loved this walk, as he loves all of them.
Yep, it just doesn't feel right to travel at the moment, not because we're worried to catch anything, but many friends in Portugal are just starting their covid jabs.
Take care, Elaine
Hi! Loved all the different scenery, you captured both the force and calm of the water. Music spot on as always. Today's best: That sheep had a lockdown haircut 🤣 Looks like you got summer over there, picnic in short-sleved T-shirt! Thanks for this vlog!! All the best/Katarina
Hello again Katarina, thanks for watching and for your lovely comments.
The day out fab and flowing water is always a winner, summer has arrived in quite stark contrast to long, cold spring. How's it fairing for you?
@@PensionersinPortugal Thank you for the kind reply! You just taught me something new today👍🏻have not heard that "How's it fairing for you" expression before. Well, things are good over here, we have 24°C today, so summer has finally arrived. Take care!/Katarina
Hi to you both,.,,what a lovely walk that was, loved the scenery, loved the animals and flowers, and the stunning waterfalls.
There are some really beautiful places in the UK….Max loved it, his face is looking a lot better, well done Elaine..
Music was perfect again….so good to see you both….thanks for taking us with you …..have a good week…Sheena.💐😘
Yay great that’s our exact route to Gretna the B6277 , they hold weddings 💒 in High Force Hotel . Forest in Teesdale , onto Alston , where we have a break . Then onto the 6071 to Brampton - Gretna . We will be there this coming week . Tyvm .
Beautiful place
Absolutely, thanks for watching
Max’s face is looking a lot better I think 🐶🐶
Hi Mark you're absolutely right, I don't think the steroids did anything, but I now make all his food and that seems to have helped. Thank you for your kind words, Elaine
Ahh enjoyed that nice walk with you, very relaxing , made us laugh when Your fur baby Nearly got stuck between the gap😂. Those steps would have got my heart rate going . Where did you end up staying the night
Evening Brenda, glad you enjoyed and it felt like you came along, that's great!
Max did have to do a bit of Hippy, Hippy shake to get through and refused to try it on way back!
The park up we found on park4 night, not too much further along the road. We had it all to ourselves until walkers started pulling in from about 8cm. We'll definitely use it again.
Just watch your video Amazing waterfalls defo on my list of places to visit in the school holidays how far would you say the walk is in total thanks
Good morning Van Grandad, love the name!
Thank you for watching and your lovely comments.
The walk is roughly 6 kilometres from the Bowlees car park and back.
Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, as the path varies in height and quality alot, but otherwise excellent. Loads of places to stop and take in the views, plenty of space to watch the river and some amazing wildlife, especially birds if you into that...
We took a snack and our time and it took 4 hours, we had the weather too, so it was fabulous day.
I really hope you do it, thanks again for watching, Elaine
@@PensionersinPortugal thanks for the reply want to take the grandkids with us think they should be ok with 6k lol 😂
