It goes without saying, but I LOVE ALL THESE CREATORS I'M REACTING TO so make sure you go show them love!
HIIIIII
❤️
that's so thoughtful
Hi I have a question. I have been using the aha bha pha miracle cream and it irritates the outer edge of my nose and it’s currently dry and flaky so idk what to do. Any advise???
I'd love to see you respond to Dr. Dray's thoughts on the retinol product! Love your videos and your channel was actually the final push for me to go see my Dermatologist and now I'm on Isotretinoin and can't wait to use some of these products when I'm done! The centella and green tea cleanser has been a dream for me and my currently very dry sensitive skin ❤️
I’m glad people loved his products but I would have preferred to see him addressing criticisms of his products. He didn’t really address anything negative even though the people in these videos had some criticisms in their full videos.
i get your point, but how do you expect him to address these criticisms? he JUST launched the products. he can’t change them right away. maybe when he launches an updated line of products he can do something about it, but i don’t see how he can do anything now
@@pia1945 considering he makes the video sound as such? “Reacting to people BASHING…” he made the people sound aggressive, yet he only showed their mild criticisms of him. It’s a mellowed out way of playing the victim, without outright doing so.
@@austinq3151 he obviously made that title to garner viewers. he was very polite and never implicated in this video that the criticisms the reviewers made were in any way unwarranted or unreasonable. also wtf does this comment have anything to do with my reply
@@pia1945 everything you said is exactly what I was pointing out. You clearly are enjoying consumption of that bait and switch. Enjoy 🙃
@@austinq3151 hyram has a lot of viewers. he has the most following out of all the "skinfluencers" on youtube. it's because he makes good marketing decisions. as a relatively old viewer, i watch hyram's videos because i was hooked by his personality and his proliferate and factual knowledge on skincare. and the reason i was intrigued was initially because of his thumbnails and titles. i literally did not care about skincare before hyram, and his controversial thumbnails and titles pulled me into the community and his content kept me there. at the end of the day, he's a very sweet and polite person who's passionate about skincare..
but sure waste your energy on hating on him as if that affects me in any way.
This video reminds me of when asked in job interviews to explain one of your negative traits, and you answer, " I'm too hard working sometimes,". Lol. Its like.. ok... let's discuss the real issues, not sugarcoat everything 😅🍨
Yeah, it's that same kind of 'reverse honesty/ psychology'. Employers don't want to hear: "I'm always late for work and I hope I'm not still working for you in 5 years time," but I think I'll say that next time just to see if I can win any brownie points for my honesty! In the meantime, Hyram would be better-off allowing people to just express their opinions without trying to spin it into a PR opportunity if he's not going to be totally honest and transparent himself.
Right??? 😂 Great analogy! This video was so sugarcoated and not addressing anything. And you see all this people making excuses for it. There is no excuse for not confronting and not telling the truth. That’s what a good business would do.
I love Dr Drea
@@lalablack6038 she's really good..BUT she is too conservative sometimes. Follow Dr Shereene Idriss and Dr Alexis Stephens
@@MD-jw6lj What does being conservative has to do with skincare ? Not bashing , just an honest question.
Dr. Dray was pretty critical, I wish he would have reacted to the whole thing.
I actually found her video to be very biased
I think he did. But he just edited a lot of parts.
@@dora876 She definitely was, she said so in her video. But despite that she basically said don't buy the retinol, they're over priced, and the applicator sucks. I find it funny how he didn't include that
She actually admitted she was biased b/c Hyram sends her followers. But Hyram still left out Dr. Dray's most critical comments. She said she would not buy this line and advised sticking to equal or better products that are lower priced. She said only to buy the line if you want to specifically support Hyram himself.
No she was not
when he doesn't actually review the real criticism of his brand...
Was looking forward to what he had to say about the critiques
He said he’s gonna upload a part two of 50 minutes maybe he’ll address more there
Probably bc he is those type of CZcamsrs who can't handle criticism. oR it's "clickbait"
@@purples5736 But he already skipped over the actual bad things Dr. Dray said about his products (and this is someone who said she was not going to touch the social/political issues with the launch and admitted she was biased b/c Hyram sends her more followers). He is cherry picking the positive comments that have mild criticisms attached to make it look like everyone loves his brand.
Because he thinks he's right about everything when he doesn't have any skincare qualifications at all. 😶
Tbh the videos he decided to use weren’t really “bashing videos.” I was expecting to see his reactions to more brutally honest reviews like Cassandra Bankson’s video.
It’s in Part 2
Yeah I’m surprised he didn’t select Cassandra bankson’s video
Yeah I found cassandra's review more honest and brutal than others. I can understand why Dr. Dray didn't discuss the political side of this controversy and simply the ingredients and it's possible effectiveness.
Tell Cassandra to look at the camera instead of above it when making videos.
@@MrTmenzo lmao what does that have to do with anything
You forgot the part where Dr. Dray says they’re overpriced 🧐
The company calculates the price not Hyram
Overpriced ? Really how cheap do you buy your skincare ?
if you go to the inkey list you can buy amazing products for like $7
True
@@Karincl7 It’s overpriced when you consider the sizes and similar products by the inkey list.
Hyram avoiding to address actual criticism of his brand for 22 minutes
lmao
Right?
what’s being said ?!
Right though? They're not "bashing it" (total clickbait title, which is one reason I don't watch him anymore, he does this often) they're simply providing logical reasons why this skin care line is just a cash grab. Cause I'm sorry but it is. He only made it because a bunch of teens kept asking him to and guess what? Teens don't have wallets.
@@JamieYAYme teenager here and I agree he’s not even a dermatologist and made a skincare brand
No hate here. I love watching your videos, but this is too much of a clickbait for me. This was carefully edited to only show the positive, glowing highlights of your products. Plus, I can't help but feel like Dr. Dray is the most credible reviewer because she's a certified dermatologist. I would have loved to see you react to her entire video - and reviews of your brand from other dermatologists. Again, no hate - just my opinions.
Well said I agree
100% cherry-picked reviews. “See! These people said it’s good” 🙄
Yeah, I love Hyram, but I watched her entire review and it was not as positive as he made it out to seem. Maybe he’ll include the more negative side in part 2, tho. 🤷🏻♀️
@@jayceklept its almost like you didn’t even read this guy’s comment lmao

You should've included Cassandra Bankson. Her review was one of the most thorough and non biased.
I’m gonna watch hers. Thank you
Ikr? Like, everyone was expecting it. Cassandra always comments and congratulated him on his brand, I think they're friends too, and now he's not gonna react to it? (Nvm there will be a part 2) Also, he didn't even address actual concerns and criticism in this video, especially Dr. Dray's. I feel like he just pointed out the good points to make it seem like it's such a great brand. He's lowkey just reviewing their reviews back.
He's probably gonna be pointing out the criticism a little more in part two just to say "No look, I'm not ignoring criticism." after seeing a lot of comments saying the same.
@@SR-gm3zf lol and guess what, 2 months later and he never did a part 2 cuz he knows people are gonna bash him more for covering up criticism in the next video (which is non-existent).
I LOVE HERRR
Meh, dr. Dray is the best considering expertise. Cassandra is just meh
I like how you editted out the actual criticisms lol.
I love hyram but I'm a little sad he didn't address the more heavy criticisms around Selfless. The potential green washing, the fact that people with arthritis have a hard time with the packaging, etc. It just would've been nice to hear his thoughts on those.
people with arthritis having a hard time with the packaging ???🤣🤣 sorry but that’s reaching.
Lol what? People with arthritis?? are you joking? This is how skincare products are always packaged
What is arthritis?
Alicia it’s a condition that makes your joints sore and swell up so therefore makes it hard to open the packaging
@@Adam-lh3gp it's not. I learned a lot about that with Selena Gomez's brand. She created all her products thinking about how hard is for people like her to open and close bottles daily. You will think is easly, but it's actually sad when you cant twist and pull products correctly because you are constantly shaking or because it causes you a lot of pain. I have seen videos of people struggling with Hyram's stuff, just looking at it I can tell it would be impossible for someone with these kind of problems to be able to use buy them.
Okay i was already on the fence about the brand, but hyram dodging the actual criticism solidified my decision to not support selfess and other brands he’s pushing
You were selfless and used the money on better things
fakery like almost every 'influencer' - dont trust them, its all just a facade
I forgot who said it, might have been multiple people of influence, but it was essentially "never buy a product a content creator tries to sell you", it's the modern day snake oil salesman pitch.
I agree. Hyram let the fame get into his head is not authentic anymore
Honestly, I love some of the brands he constantly talks about (the ordinary, CeraVe, Iunik, krave beauty, Isntree, etc.) however, this video was very dodgy and I hope he reacts to some actually criticism next time.

@@Theo_the_cheeto yep, totally!
Dang I wish you would’ve addressed the end of dr dray video when she gives her thoughts on the line as a whole and brings up the green washing and white saviorism
Pretty sure Dr. Dray said nothing about white saviorism. She did talk about the fact that the website claims that 10% of sales from 2021 are gonna go to charity partners and that every six months they're going to publish an externally verified report on how the money is being used where it's going. She invites anyone who wants to purchase the products as a way of contributing to this to make sure to check the report out. That's it...
I feel like that was Cassandra not Dr Dray
@@cathl4953 when a white person gives to people of color to try and look good and be selfless but it’s really just to make themselves look and feel better because they are “saving” people who really don’t need him to save them. Like how hyram calls this brand with his name on it selfless because the brand donates some money to Africa
@@lunaas1029 As someone who is mixed, a minority; white "saviorrism" has got to be the most racists and offensive made up term I have heard this century.
Because he is helping people of color? Or minorities he is a white Savior? OH my goodness, thank God he is helping people. Who cares if you think his intentions are right or wrong thats none of your business and I am certain those who are suffering don't mind at all. This is an American made up ridiculous idea, because people who are truly suffering don't give a shit about the made "white saviors"; they need help.
Also, Cassandra Banks is in fact white so maybe she should stop with her self righteous antics and sit down.
The absurdity and actual pretentiousness of people to actually tell people their own intentions and attempt to discourage people being helped. That's is insane.

@@cathl4953 As far as I’m aware it’s when white people think they need to save others/are saving others. Keep in mind this is coming from a white person and I may be incorrect.
I really hoped he would have addressed the Affordability and Capitalizing on African community points that were constantly brought up by the people. Actually, that is needed to be addressed. I love Hyram so very much but the main criticism that were given by the people were these two exact points. Just an opinion, no hate.
i was waiting for him to bring that up, and it didn't happen. I really like him, but this entire video was a clickbait, he did not address the real issues with his brand/products.
Wait can you further explain this? I’m confused
I would agree. I want to try it bad but I can’t afford it right now
Also the accessibility aspect of his choices in packaging. Multiple people mentioned how the firm squeeze tubes are going to be difficult for folks with arthritis and neuropathy. Doesn't seem like he is willing to accept the serious criticisms as much as he wants to "accept the criticisms"
@@Kiterpuss yeah even young Cassandra Bankson was having difficulty with the packaging. Those tubes are so difficult to squeeze though she did say it might’ve been designed to not let people use more product than they actually need. 🤷🏻♀️
Problems with this video:
1.) “Reacting to people BASHING…” - he made the people sound aggressive, yet he only showed their mild criticisms of him. It’s a mellowed out way of playing the victim, without outright doing so.
2.) Not addressing bigger issues that people have been bringing up (ex: green washing and using white-savior analogy as his mission statement.
3.) Zero transparency on his ALLEGED charity contributions from his sales.
P.s. feel free to add more issues, I’m a little tired rn to type up any more. Plz follow sequential order (ex: next would be 4.)

It's fair enough that he wanted to capitalise on his popularity, but don't dress it up as something else.
This is the first vid I've watched in months and it's sad bc I thought he was actually going to address actual criticism. Ah well..
The moisturizer smells like vegetables and smell lingers. I just want to hear him actually hear the negativity as I bought product and this was so frustrating to watch.

They used clickbait in their thumbnails too so this ist just..their humor I think. Everybody knows that they would not bash it anyways. Everybody knows how CZcams and clickbait works to not fall for it.
I hope he will address the elephant in the room in another video. He's a likeable guy with positive goals and I think as a whole, we want him to succeed. I don't think addressing the controversy surrounding the marketing concept and availability for purchase in Africa would hurt his brand more than neglecting to talk about it. He is being open about what he has learned about the launch. If he has learned something from that, I'd like to hear it. I am more likely to trust brands that recognize, admit and evolve from their mistakes. It shows integrity, which is something I think Hyram has demonstrated a lot of in the past.

Dr. Drey did not bash Hyram’s skin care line, such a claim is completely hyperbolic at best. The title is pretty misleading. Also, I’m genuinely concerned as to how I should move forward in terms of following Hyram. I recently found out that he was in a partnership with “First Aid Beauty” and he didn’t disclose as such. I have spent A LOT of money on this brand because Hyram endorsed it. I thought he only promoted the brand because he personally liked it, turns out, he had financial incentive to promote the brand so heavily. Now I’m seriously questioning my entire skin care routine and I’m honestly just so frustrated with Hyram’s behavior. Perhaps it's in the second video? Or part of the 2.5 hours that was cut right down...
Ah yes.. the art of clickbait
Acting like this is his first time seeing any of the videos is worse than knowing he picked the exact parts of the videos that make his products look not as bad as the reviews actually were
AHHHH HI HYRAM
PLS NICOLE HE PUT U IN HIS VIDEP
I RAN TO THIS NOTIF TO SEE IF HE REACTED TO YOU
Oop
HI BOO
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Clickbait title. Literally not even mildly negative complaints, you should react to the actual comments. If you’re confused look up skincare addiction on Reddit, everyone will let u know how they really feel 😅
The one review we should care about is Dr. Dray’s. She actually went to med school for this stuff.
Too bad Hyram cut out the worst things she said about the products and the part where she admitted being biased.
yep
@@junedaisy707 she’s none of those things you list. Just stop being an online troll
@@MAK0948 I'm sorry you are in need of prescription lenses, because she does have skin issues. Nothing wrong with having skin problems, but many of the things she recommends don't really fix those issues, hence people keep buying a plethora of these products without much benefit specially when the person is older.
@@junedaisy707 just because she’s a dermatologist doesn’t mean she has to have perfect skin, she’s a human too.
It’s nothing personal, some people just don’t want to spend their money on overpriced products from influencers, myself included. Still appreciate the videos.
the packaging is what makes it pricy. It’s a very eco friendly brand and getting things to be environmentally friendly make it’s quite expensive, however I’m not bashing you or anything. A lot of people just don’t want to spend so much money on skincare which I totally get
His products really aren't any more expensive than most brands. It's pretty affordable for the most part.
@@je4ns__ respectfully, I go with my tested and tried basics that work for me. The donations are a tax right off by the way, a lot of businesses do this
@@je4ns__ sugar cane is still awful for the planet and it's also dirt cheap. The packaging does not justify a massive price hike
@@taylorpaige1117 you can get similar products cheaper, for example I love cera ve and the ordinary
Dude it’s expensive damnnnnn just accept it
You are a breath of fresh air! I absolutely love that you are trying to educate ppl on skincare ingredients. I have to admit in the past I kept scrolling past your videos thinking it’s just another young guy into makeup and doing tutorials. But after watching one of your videos I was very impressed! Keep up the good work 👍🏻
They're not"bashing" your line, they're telling us the truth. Especially dr dray and Dr shah. And nevermind but you're products are nothing ground breaking and overpriced
You mostly reacted to the positive comments. I’ve seen Dr Dray’s review till the end and that’s not always the case lol
he didn't react to the discourse about the brand's greenwashing :/ convenient I guess
Green washing?
@@tiaratheawesome9462 yeah
Or the white saviorism in the ads.
@@S0FlA isn't that illegal?
@@tiaratheawesome9462greenwashing can be illegal but since most greenwashing does not involve explicitly false statements, it's hard to take legal action against it.
What a genuinely beautiful person you are! No big head from success, no personality change ( not that I expected it) and with such a young person that is commendable! You just keep being you!💕💕💕
the biggest frustration with the industry is elitism and unfortunately your products are much more expensive than The Inkey List baseline. It excludes a huge amount of people from ever using your products; regardless of how amazing they may be.
just curious what elitism has to do with these products being more expensive than the inkey list?
The inkey list is extremely cheap which is great for people with low income (like myself) but hyrams products are fairly priced for what they are
@@sophiagrace6361 but the inkey list and the ordinary make excellent products? So logistically yes, he has cut out an entire demographic.
Lol 😂 that was an interesting comment. If you want it, save up for it like everyone else does
@@HelenPoodle his line isn’t even expensive, I don’t think you understand what expensive means 😂😂😂
Stop exaggerating, his line IS affordable, it’s just not as affordable as The Inkey List
dr dre: i mean it’s logical 🤷♀️
hyram: THANK FREAKING GOD MY LIFE IS COMPLETE
Dr Dray is the GOAT
the title is so dramatic for no reason
Hyram I’m SOOO freaking proud of you!! I LOVE your brand n what it stands for. I purchased the cleanser, exfolianting serum, n oil control serum so far💕💗 n I’m loving them. Thank you for being such an inspiration n just a beautiful person inside n out. We love u!!!!
Seeing you so happy and smiling at the beginning of the video is awesome. You deserve it. Can't wait to try your brand.
The one video I did not expect Hyram to make.
I love how much thought you’ve put into your product! Truly passion!
It's hilarious how he wants to "prevent deforestation" and yet he unnecessarily packages his products in cardboard and paper packaging. Jeez
I watched a video from another CZcamsr (Shelbizleee) where she breaks down the sustainability of Selfless, and I think she mentioned that the cardboard was 100% recycled, if I remember correctly.
The fact that it, for whatever reason, is the only skincare line that doesn’t cause these ungodly and painful cysts on my chin is enough for me 🤷♀️ It’s pricey but for *me* it’s worth it. For a new brand creator he’s still on the learning curve so all is well. Excited to see where this journey leads Hyram. Keep at it, DON’T get discouraged - get inspired! You’re doing great love
The fame got to his head
As far as I could see the vast majority of criticisms online were the marketing, the environmental impact and the price. None of these issues were covered in this vlog and so that’s a little disappointing as that was the reality of the response to the launch.
Hyram l, you deserve this. I have been following since three years ago…(like 6500 ppl I think) so you have came such a long way! You inspire so many people mot only with skincare but how to actually live better!
My skincare has changed thanks to
You so kudos to you bud! Love you!
He should have reacted to Cassandra Bankson's recation. I think it was extremely honest.
Everyone I’ve watched are acquainted or friends with you : Dr Dray, Cassandra Bankson, James Welsh, Mad about skin, Doctorly. Talk about unbiased 😂😂
Hyram "Wait for part 2"
Me: *waits for 1 or 2 months*
Hi Hyram! I haven't watched this video fully yet or ever used a product of yours, but I was walking though the mall yesterday for the first time since my province reopened and saw your skincare advert in the window for sephora! I thought that was so cool and amazing, and I was very excited for you.
Whatever the reviews remember no one gets it perfect right off the bat; criticism is key to learning and growing & practice makes progress. Your brand and initiative are so beautiful, I know it can only go up from here!
Wishing you well!!
How I can trust your products when I can’t even trust the content of your video? Lol
I think “bashing” means something else to me! Great job on all your products!!!! I LOVED seeing your face and reactions to their reviews. You can tell you were like “okay okay I will take what you’re saying under review and remember this for next products” ❤️❤️❤️
Why would you use the word bashing when thats literally not what they did 😑
“I want the truth”
Skips past the truth
I'm sorry but most criticisms I've seen are valid and this feels like you're purposely being disingenuous.
It's called Selfless by Hyram. It's an oxymoron. He is a hypocrite just by breathing now. Done.
This is literally a +20 min ad 🤪
And youre watching it 🤪
Yeah. As all of his videos lately. So sad 🤷♂️
I hope that the line expands in the future for additional skin types. I feel like a lot is meant for younger acne prone skin. I'm 40 and I'm looking for wrinkle and hyperpigmentation support for dehydrated skin. Would love to see more come soon.
Retinol = good for wrinkles and hyperpigmentation
@@kaiw522 yes, but the product was specifically designed for acne hyperpigmentation. Its clear the line was meant for 16 to 25 with acne and oily skin. Mine is sun exposure and Tranexamic Acid is the best ingredient for me to treat that.

I bought all the products & I love all of them. They do feel really lightweight but like Dr Dray said the moisturizer leaves your skin very soft. So proud of Hyram, it’s because of him I’m taking care of my skin. I’m definitely one of his “wiser” fans as Dr Dray would say 😃
Aaahhh this vid show how SELFLESS he is
Dr. Dray: “This is a logical ingredient in this formula”
Hyram: 🥳😇☺️🥰🤩
he even threw himself on the bed like bro I promise you this isn't the compliment you think it is
The weren’t even bashing it tbh 😅making a brand comes with constructive criticism. Dr. Dray is a licensed dermatologist :) she was nice throughout the whole video. I know you didn’t mean any harm ❤️ Ily and ik that’s basically what you said tho :D
Just putting us out there because I found this out about three days ago and that’s what I stopped being a fan that you are actually paid by a lot of these brands to say that you like their products and you don’t say there’s a sponsorship in the video also you will bash people celebrities for having an ingredient in a moisturizer they use and then promote a product that has the same ingredients that you said you don’t like there’s proof of this in the video hyram him as a hypocrite if you want receipts
I'm pretty sure the title was more for click bait purposes
I agree but I feel like he “cherry picked” the nice elements of the review videos and left out the harsh criticisms that he should have been reacting too
