I was so fucking happy to see Charlie close out this game as a Pirates fan. I remember always rooting for him when he was in Pittsburgh. Even though his stuff was good and he had great potential he struggled a lot. I would have never envisioned him going this far, but I'm really glad he did. He worked his ass off re-learning how to pitch and look where it got him.

How could you not root for the Astros in this series?
I mean I obviously did, being from Houston and being a fan since I was a little kid.
But everyone else how? This team had all the personality, and they struggled to get there. Half our roster combined is paid less than just Kershaw. A good portion of this year's team was veteran players looking for their first win. Others like Charlie Morton were stuck on dead-end teams or constantly needing surgeries. Gattis battled substance abuse and depression during his all-important college years. The all-stars on the team endured several 100 loss seasons to get here. Almost every player on the team had some massive hurdle to overcome and all of them did.
The Dodgers didn't do any of that. They tried to pay their way in, with the highest active payroll in baseball. It failed. Their players are good, and will likely go on to win championships of their own, but the Astros deserved to win more.

Charlie Morton is the reason why the Astros have that title. Got it done in Game 7 of the ALCS when everyone was used and pitched a great game and then got it done in Game 7 of the WS when he was the ONLY fresh pitcher out there. When everyone's tank was empty and they needed a pitcher to go 4 plus innings, Charlie was the guy. The wildcard that no one ever thought about until he came out and produced.
