Jim Henson/Chaplin Studio Tour - Hollywood

- This is a tour of the Henson/Chaplin Studio in Hollywood, California. Due to company restrictions, I wasn't able to show some parts of the studio, but for those of you who are fans, I think you get a good look anyway. The camera I was using was old, so it's not exactly HD quality, but it's better than nothing ; ) You can catch my other video of my internship, which has pictures of the stuff you don't get to see in this video like the sidewalk with Chaplin's footprints, the vault, and the Creature Shop. My Uncle worked for A&M RECORDS 25+ years, don't FORGET AFTER CHAPLIN STUDIOS, it became A&M RECORDS in 1962. Alpert & Moss!

What a beautiful place to make movies & records. It's been preserved quite well. Chaplin was an incredible actor, producer.

Wow, you lucky thing, you! Thanks for sharing this with us; I'd LOVE to go and see this place in person. I'm a huge Chaplin fan with a passion for history ; I'd have to plant a kiss somewhere in there as "thanks" to Charlie himself!
I have watched your video a few times-thank you so much for making and posting! I am a huge Chaplin fan. Your video is a compliment to Making Movies-it is amazing to see the before and after. Thankfully this studio will be preserved for future generations.

Charlie was a pioneer in filmmaking but Jim was a pioneer in his own right. They were both men before their time & did what they wanted to do not what they thought other people wanted them to do. I'm glad Henson studio's owns it today & I can't think of anyone I'd rather have occupy the space. Somewhere Jim & Charlie are smiling down & happy that their legacy lives on.

Thanks for the comment, but unfortunately this studio is an important working studio in Hollywood, and it serves more than just the Jim Henson Company. I understand your point of view, however, I think Chaplin would be proud of the fact that his studio is still being used for its original purpose. The Jim Henson Company clearly understands the historical value and has maintained as much of the original studio as possible. It has nothing to do with Chaplin's political past.
