Paul and Timothy

In his second letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul placed his "signature" at the beginning, as was customary at that time. Alistair Begg's message on these opening verses guides us through Paul's greeting to his younger colleague, as he prayed God would give him "grace, mercy, and peace."

He is my spiritual father and though we our your dear boy's and dear girls, we can be a mess sometimes but saved by grace from our LORD Jesus Christ. We listen to you day in and day out so that God may help us build our character and to help us spread the good news in a sound way. Thank God's love and promises for those who love him and who believe in his one and only begotten son. For I know that God is not just words on paper but the true living God of action through our faith. Thank you Jesus Christ and Paul and Timothy for this letter to us. I pray this in Christ holy name,amen.
