"Very dry, extremely dry."
Um... I'm sorry, are chips (crisps) soggy in Ireland?!
They probably meant it didn't have a lot of flavor so then all you felt was the dry texture. There are Doritos like that to me.
Right? They're chips! Of course they're dry!
That's her WHOLE THING.
Everything's "Droi"

That girl/guy is always negative about everything. Look back in the other videos she’s in.
Chips are too dry? Wtf...
@@squirrel6536 nah doritos are way less oily than potato fried crisps
ive never really heard of someone saying "these need a dip" when talking about Doritos
I know, right!?!? What the heck?
You can literally buy a jar of doritos dip and/or salsa right beside the bags of doritos in supermarkets in Ireland, the UK and Australia. I don't know about other countries, but I do know for the ones I have mentioned.
@@leannepaxton5012 we dont in the US atleast the states ive been to we have tostitos brand dips for like corn chips or plain potato chips
@@jamesbrisendine8917 , interesting how different countries have the same brands of some food things, but not necessarily the same range in that brand!
I've read through quite a few other comments about this and from what I can tell, it seems like mostly Americans are used to only eating the plain chips/crisps with any type of dip.
Even though you get the flavour from the dip, I still find that quite bland and not as tasty!
Although, I have been brought up having flavoured chips with dips as a treat. I don't think I ever even tried plain chips with dip until I was an adult and was served it, whilst I was somewhere overseas, maybe as something to pick at at a restaurant while waiting for a main meal to be served!
I guess it just depends on what you are brought up with.
I'm not a fan of salsa or any of the doritos dips. They are always stocked on the shelf beside the doritos chips (not refrigerated, I prefer the fresher, refrigerated dips. My favourite would be a creamy roasted capsicum (I think you call them bell peppers- not the spicey, hot peppers) and the cool ranch doritos, which are called original doritos in the UK, but it's very difficult to find those doritos in Australia, where I now live.
But in my opinion, so long as you have a flavour of dip that you like and whatever flavour of chip you like, it really doesn't matter what combination of flavours you eat together! They all work!
You should give it a try! You might be very pleasantly surprised! 😉
They always want to dip a lot of stuff in tea like. Cookies are only dip in milk not tea. You only dip chocolate chip and oreos
"OOH THATS MAGNETO"
"no..."
"NO ITS MAGENTA"
"thats a colour..."
Donal has the best goofy personality and giggly laugh. It warms my heart every time I hear it.
I agree, he's adorable 😊
I have never once dipped Doritos in anything.
Same here! Are we the weird ones?
@@zakkybounce Me, either. They're flavored, so I eat them on their own. For dips, I always get plain tortilla chips.
@John Mitchell So, why not just get a cheaper plain tortilla chip? I mean, the whole reason I'd get doritos is for the flavoring
You haven't really experienced a Dorito til you dunk it in a cauldron of melted cheese.
@John Mitchell I like Doritos for who they are - yummy junk food. But if I spend time shopping for and making guacamole and fresh salsa, I get the small-batch white corn tortilla chips that come in paper bags. Can't imagine a naked Dorito! Tostitos, yes, though.
"Canadians can't do anything normal" LOL
It's cold here at a minimum 7 months of the year, we have a short summer we do what we can :)
@@daveyhouston Lol it is awful.
Does the ketchup flavoring warm you guys up or something..?
@@Jan7th No that's All Dressed. LOL and some times Dill Pickle flavor
@@Jan7th The ketchup flavour is supposed to be on normal potato chips (fried potato and ketchup works together as flavours). The Doritos version is not a good match (corn chip and ketchup) and just tries to play on the fact that ketchup chips are popular in Canada. My family finds them rather nasty and they love ketchup chips.
To be fair I’m Canadian and hate Haiwian Pizza and ketchup chips. We aren’t good cooks at all.

I had never heard of wasabi. My friends played a trick on me. I mistook some paste for guacamole. I almost stepped into the light.
"almost stepped into the light"....love it. Good wasabi will do that, alright. Part of the appeal.
Your friends are evil 😂😂😂
The first time my sister ate sushi she thought the wasabi was guacamole (I don't know why) and popped the whole thing in her mouth. I would have warned her, but we teach tough love in my house... plus she wasn't going to share so.. live and learn.
It goes right up your nose
Friends? I don't think you could call them that
"Tangy" cheese are nacho cheese, which are actually the original flavor. Cool ranch (aka "cool original") were created years later.
Yep--I'm enough older than Cool Ranch that I remember when they came out. Don't remember how old I was, mind...
Plain corn was actually “the” original Doritos flavor.
@@thecrippledrummer You sure about that? I thought that the original Doritos flavor was taco.
Right! What kind of alternate dimension are they living in where Cool Ranch is "original" and the real original Nacho Cheese is now called Tangy? Is this what would have happened if the Germans won?
Original was salted, then came the cheese flavour, there was a taco flavour.and years later the “cool” flavour came out.
Doritos discontinued the Extreme Pickle flavour in Canada, and I will never forgive them for that.
I want to move to Canada now for the ketchup chips.

Sugar Heart they cost more there. Almost $5 for that bag over there (€3.95). Not much more but since the Euro is stronger than the dollar ($1.11 =€1) there is a small difference.
I have this thing, where when I go to the grocery store if I see a bag of chips that I’ve never seen before.. I have to buy it so I am truly enjoying this.

I saw ketchup and thought “must be Canada”.
When you pulled out the ketchup I knew they were Canadian.
Did you know Doritos were first made in Disneyland? The original flavor was Taco Seasonings.
Love it when I can find that flavor in the wacky throwback packaging. Like eating Doritos with I Dream of Jeannie. So mod!

They didn’t do the original “Nacho Cheese” kind... I’m a bit disappointed...
I'm pretty sure that was the "tangy cheese" flavor? Like Cool Original is our Cool Ranch, and their sweet chili heat is our sweet and spicy chili.

With all respect to the Try folks, there's been an appalling lack of Dermot lately.
I think they broke him the last time when they gave him peanut butter. You could just see the look of despair on his face.
I dunno, the insincere overacting was a bit tiring.
LoveClassicMusic0205 I still think they should make a “Dermot eats peanut butter” video. The entire video would consist of giving him Heineken and different peanut butters for 20 minutes. I’d share that video everywhere!
He's on vacation btw
Seriously the lack of Dermot is starting to get to me.
She said the chip was dry
IT'S A FECKING CHIP NOT A PEICE OF CHICKEN
Exactly. She is bloody annoying. So sullen.
Maybe she meant an old taste.
some chips are greasy. ther's def a difference between chip dryness
dry with chips generally means they dry your mouth out
Maybe because the blue ones dry your mouth out. Whereas the othe flavours dont because they arent as salty.
Lolsy is my favorite!!!! she is so funny.
Martin you're so adorable everyone should start using "it's more like a sharp elbow to the throat" as a descriptive phrase for food .
Fun fact: most wasabi flavored items and "wasabi" served in sushi restaurants is actually just horseradish with food coloring. Actual wasabi root is incredibly expensive so mass production is not economical.
Not too many people know that. Wasabi in sushi....good. But horseradish on a roast beef sandwich? Ohhhh, yeah.....now you're talking.
I love spice. But wasabi? Horseradish? No thank you.
Thank you! Was about to comment this.
@@9SmartSand6: Or any kind of beef. Especially when your sinuses are stopped up.
Definitely will clear your sinuses. But that head rush...that's where it's at.
"my favorite! This is me in a crisp!"
"I'm really not into these"
"It's very dry..." WTF? It's a tortilla chip!!!
Technically, very few people have actually had "real" wasabi. 100% of packaged wasabi and most of the wasabi served in restaurants is mainly horseradish and/or other flavors. Real wasabi is very expensive and needs to be grated fresh because the flavor comes from a reaction that is caused at the time or grating it and only lasts for a couple minutes before losing the flavor.
True and wasabi and horseradish are related but they are not the same.
Trying Doritos around the world? It seems more like "Irish people try Doritos sold at their local supermarket".
New from Doritos: A Sharp Elbow in the Throat
"doritos are very expensive." tell me about it. My son has sensory issues related to his autism and has to eat nacho cheese doritos with lunch and supper. Every once in a while he will eat cool ranch, but only mixed with nacho cheese ones. My monthly doritos and corn dog budget is astronomical.
Do you live in a country with a costco? I get them at costco semi-regularly and you can pay 4$ for a giant bag of them there when they're not on sale -- they should have lots of bulk corndogs and other sensory-neutral food! Not a costco shill lol just a big fan
Also I'm Canadian btw in case 4$ seems high still
You should feed him a keto diet
Sometimes they on sale. While I like Doritos, I actually like some of the cheap brands as much or better because they have more flavoring coverage
Crystal Marie
Not sure if you check your messages but I second the Keto diet recommendation. I understand autism can make particular pickiness even more due to the sensory issues. I knew a kid who wouldn’t say certain words because he didn’t like the way they sounded in his head (mostly hard k sounds).
I know it’s a big thing to switch diets. I’d only recommend you watch “the magic pill” on Netflix before deciding. And if you want to say it’s not my place, that’s fine too. Good luck.

In the early 2000s here in the States, we had guacamole flavored Doritos. Those and dnL (melon flavored 7up) were my go-to snack during summer school in ‘03.
The guac ones were great. We saw them show up again around here mixed with a rather spicy variety (habanero pepper I think). One of each together or just alternating between them was great.
I saw the ketchup and was confused cause I always see them in the stores, but then I heard only in Canada and realized that is where I am
Did you not know where you were until then?
I'm so old that I can remember when "The Blue One" was NOT |normal| Doritos, but a new flavor being introduced. Yeah, the original Cool Ranch (which was better than the flavor they have now, BTW - it instantly replaced Nacho Cheese as the party must-have.

Things are so different in Ireland. Original Doritos were unflavored. It was called "Toasted Corn" in 1966, and the first powder flavored Doritos, Taco, was introduced a year later. Nacho Cheese flavor was introduced in 1972 and was a huge hit. Cool Ranch came out in 86, and was introduced overseas as "Cool Original". Other flavors have come out sporadically, but Nacho Cheese still dominates in the US.
For some reason, I recalled taco being the original flavor. But I'm sure you're right.
@@kareninalabama Well, considering "Toasted Corn" was really a no-flavor flavor, Taco would have been the first _actual_ flavor. Originally they were supposed to be used with dips, but then they added the flavor "putting dip in the chip". They even had a sour cream and onion flavor, but that didn't last long. It was a much bigger success on their potato chips.
