That ending, as someone who played the original, felt like we we're robbed in a sense. In my opinion, the removal of Cloud saying what he's supposed to say.. Before I even started Rebirth I was spoiled going into it when it was coming out. I had heard where the end was gonna be, and I had a sneaking suspicion it would end there too. So basically I got through the whole game looking forward to hearing those lines and then they weren't said. It feels like they took away a very important moment which hopefully you're right and it plays out as the original intended later on. That said, its like you say: its an intentional change. They did it this way to show us - who follow Cloud's perspective throughout the game - how absolutely messed up he is because of Sephiroth and Jenova. We are absolutely supposed to be confused at this point, which feels weird knowing how its supposed to end so I can only imagine what its like for someone starting with Rebirth. I look forward to the answers in FFVII:Re3(most likely FFVII: Reborn if we take the soundtracks names at the end of the game into account). Also, they did say there wouldn't be any DLC like the Yuffie one. Vincent and Cid are to become available in the final part as playable like Red XIII became playable in Rebirth. I wouldn't hold onto hope about a Vincent DLC, and instead be pleasantly surprised if one does actually come. And with that said, the wait for Journey's End begins..

@@dstroxp I don’t get how his transformations will work. Like they’re going to have to nerf him if it’s anything like the Galian Beast fight. The only things I can think of is a) they’re temporary transformations or b) it’s more plot specific. Like maybe he only transforms for certain battles such as Hojo, Sephiroth, etc.

You're one of the few who can see without Clouded eyes... The loss I feel after playing this game is worse than the OG. Perhaps because we spend more than 100+ hours with the characters and Aerith especially. Aerith really become the heart and soul of the party for me, she even show leadership when everyone was down and Cloud somehow lost his way. So yeah, great job by Square Enix.

That speech in the temple was also incredible. I also absolutely loved Cloud in this game. That moment he has with Barret after dyne was so good. And then the why he went downhill from there…gearing up for a fantastic climax.

don't forget that Tifa saw that glitch too in the ancient city. And at the very end, Nanaki can sense her presence.. So... Maybe Aerith was saved in an alternate reality. Now what? Well we have to wait 3 years -they'll have to get in on the market for the 30th anniversary- to figure out! Again...

@@dstroxp if you didn't play the original game, you should try it before 2027! of course, graphisms are not as good as on the ps5 game but the story, characters and game mechanics are still as good as it was. Have fun!
The great thing about the structure of Rebirth is that you can literally revisit any chapter, or even just go to Chapter 12 and go back and complete anything you skipped. If there's one thing I recommend, it's to do the protorelic quests that you missed because there are some really great character moments in there, ESPECIALLY the ones in Cosmo Canyon. I for one couldn't bring myself to continue without completing everything I possibly could, but the game looks out for the player by making literally nothing missable. Now for the ending. The one major takeaway from this ending that needs to be understood (which you seem to be onboard with) is that the final hours of this game are presented to intentionally mislead and confuse. There is so much information crammed into the last few hours of this game that there's no way to process it all on first watch, and even through multiple watches and analyzation we still don't know what's really happening here. The truth is that nobody knows what's going to happen going forward, nor what is truly happening now. We are on one of the craziest cliffhangers ever, and if there's a few things that are true, it's that: 1. Cloud's mind is completely shattered. The overload of information that the poor man has suffered in the wake of one of the most tragic moments of his existence is too much for him to bear, in addition to the personal stuff happening with him on the molecular level. The genius part of this is that his confusion is conveyed through the player as well. We're just as confused as this guy, and are in the same boat of not knowing what to believe. 2. Aerith is dead, and Cloud is in denial about it. Our party has suffered that loss clearly, while Cloud has not. In the fight against Jenova, he's the only character that doesn't have a maxed limit gauge, and he's the only character that has seen this ambiguous nature of her "dying/coming back to life". Whether he's somehow seeing all the possibilities via world line convergence, somehow remembering the OG timeline, mentally distorting what he's currently seeing as a coping mechanism, or any combination of the above, it's clear the man is not all there by the end of the game. 3. TIFA NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED. MY GIRL IS SO DISTRAUGHT AND CONFUSED AND JUST LOST HER BEST FRIEND AND HER BOYFRIEND IS ACTING LIKE A SHADY WEIRDO UNCONCERNED ABOUT THE DEATH OF HIS OWN FRIEND OMG SOMEONE GIVE TIFA A HUG PLEASE. *ahem* If you're interested in some theory crafting for the next game, I would personally recommend checking out Maximilian_DOOD's post-finale stream on Twitch and go down the rabbit hole with him. He (along with his chat) comes up with some really interesting theories and observations that REALLY paint the end of the game in a much more sinister light, even sparking the hatred and ire of some of the fandom in the process. The constant mood in the OG I like because its sad the whole time. Shes gone. In rebirth though its tough because you get to know the characters with the audio dialogue and improved imagery. Kept going back and forth with this one because its sad, but then you get into the shit talking cause Sephiroth is smooth with it. The sadness went up when Cloud layed Aerith down and you see everyone just standing there in shock. Plus Sephiroth talking with Aerith's theme in the background reminded me of thev way it felt on the og. For me though, what puts this scene over the top is Aerith's theme coming back in hard at the start of the jenova fight. At that point couldn't help getting misty eyed.

Yes it it's no secret even if you haven't played the original FF7 everyone knows aerith dies. So I thought they were gonna change it up but I'm excited to see how cloud will deal with her death since he believes she's alive in the remake
@ETHomerin from this game I'll take everything I just love it. It was a lot to process but I think that's the fun part the 4 years I've speculated with others online leading to rebirth release now as we wait for part 3 is gonna be interesting either it pays off or not the journey was fun
Remake and Rebirth both mean so much to me, and I always appreciate seeing love thrown their way. Same goes for the OG. I truly take these games as the creators’ love letter to life itself, and the fact that these games were released in pretty dark times make them all the more precious to me. i whole heartedly agree these remakes in this time are truly a blessing and I love every second when i fire up remake or rebirth and know their history because I grew up watching advent children and knowing key points in og ff7 so its easier for me to digest the remake compared to others will bring myself to finish playing og ff7 before part 3 drops

If they did do a Vincent DLC it would be awesome to play as him going through the temple and even helping out the Turks.
