I clicked to Dimash singing S.O.S. and I wept. I can affirm that 3 years on, Dimash still brings on the chills to his millions of fans around the world with each new song and performance. He still practises every day he can, pushing boundaries. You can’t imagine how he has made the impossible, possible. As a 78 year old U.K. lady, I’ve travelled overseas for the chance to see Dimash in concert, which, btw, are three and a half hours long! Everything from opera to rap! Playing instruments, dancing, interacting with the large stadium audiences who come from all over the world. He is special.

I totally understand this first experience. This song was also my first one of his. He comes from an opera parents background. He was offered a full time job with an opera company and he turned it down because it would limit his creativity and what he could sing. He is one in a million. Go to his page and join and follow. I agree, so many will never hear his talent. To hear a different way of making a song " his" try " ikanaide" that one gives me double chills always. He does pop songs also. Seeing Dimash for the first time is almost a religious experience as one cannot miss that one is witnessing greatness personified. It's no coincidence as he is considered, possibly, the best vocalist to have ever lived; and he is still improving every single day due to his relentless pursuit of self-improvement of every aspect of performing - since that performance he's widened his range, improved his stage presence, improved several of his languages (especially English), learned how to dance on stage, and sings in more genres. I can't wait to witness your journey. Unlike most artists, most of Dimash's songs are masterpieces, and they hardly sound similar to each other as he's a man of a dozen voices! Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave 2 semi-tone range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. Also I highly suggest watching SOS that he performed 3yrs later for his digital show he did during the pandemic, shot in a sound stage in Ukraine. There you can also put subtitles on so you can see how special the lyrics are as well. You will see how he often makes different choices for the same song yet just as magical. It’s also visually stunning as well.

Anecdote: I am 36 years old, I have lived all my life (since I was 11) taking pills for depression and generalized anxiety, I suffer from insomnia, eating disorder, etc. I've known Dimash for 5 years, with this specific song and for 4 and a half years I stopped taking the pills.
No kidding, ever since I started listening to it, I felt like it helped heal my soul.
with this song I could feel as if it hugged my soul and said "Okay, I'm here" and every time I'm about to have a relapse, I hear "OLIMPICO" with this song, these lyrics feel like they scream at me "You can beat him You are stronger than all your problems!"

Samaltau has a similar effect for me, it's such a simple song but sung with so much emotion that it calms me, it's also tells a very sad story so makes me realise that things could be a lot worse and I'm fortunate to live in a country with no war ( yet) ...no high notes or vocal gymnastics, just easy to listen to, Dimash ...

Меня иногда поражают реакционеры, которые при этом сами являются певцами и вокальными коучами, которые в своих реакциях боготворят Димаша, поют ему дифирамбы, употребляют такие слова о его голосе, что хочется верить в их искренность, а ты заходишь на их канал и просто ахереваешь над тем, что это была первая и последняя реакция на Димаша)) Прикинь, и такие реакционеры есть, хотя, наверное, ты и сам это знаешь))
Я всегда захожу на канал реакционера и смотрю, как он реагирует на голоса певцов в разных муз.направлениях. Какие слова он подбирает и произносит в адрес певца и зачастую они одни и те же.
По факту, реакционеру абсолютно наплевать на кого делать реакцию. Для него главное, чтобы песня была обсуждаемая или известная и у певца была большая армия поклонников, ну а дальше дело за малым, восторгаться человеком и как можно больше.

Crash course on Dimash, he started vocal training at age 5 classically he performs all genres. He sings in 13 different languages and plays 7 instruments. He has a 7 octave range. And can hit the bass notes. He calls his fans "Dears" He is a very humble man. During his concerts he bows in gratitude to his fans several times. They don't stand because it is considered rude to block the view of those behind. He is often called an alien.
The highest note he has hit was D8 which is not even on an 88 key piano

Tip of the iceberg with Dimash. This was not as low as he can go nor was it as high as he can go. He is fluent in his native Kazakh as well as Russian with English now becoming a fast third with a little Mandarin thrown in for good measure. However, he sings in about 15 or 16 languages. This was French. Try Stranger in English. He will shock you every time. He sings in any genre he wants and plays multiple instruments, composes music, acts and even raps in Kazakh. His latest song Omir was released on his birthday, the 24th of May. He composed it in appreciation of his fans whom he calls Dears because he considers fans part of his family. A very humble, respectful and appreciative artist. He has a fan base around the world so get ready to translate a lot of comments.

Been a big fan of his since 2017 when I first heard him singing this exact song on the Chinese singing competition “I Am Singer”. He doesn’t have any particular style other than what can only be described as “Popera “. He sings in several different languages and all kinds of genres. His vocal range is only surpassed by the quality of person he is.

Dimash is an earth angel. He has been training since the age of 5 and has honed his voice into an instrument which brings people to tears with its purity and emotion. Dimash sings with his entire being, not just his voice. His body language, expressions, everything conveys the message he is trying to portray. Another song which is equally able to bring me to tears is Ave Maria. He does not utter a single word, but brings me to tears every time.

I have recently come back from Armenia & Turkey where I saw my first 2 concerts & cannot wait for my next time! He was younger in this video & had now just turned 29 & still performs this song live. Not surprised at your reaction, Dimash is THE greatest vocalist of ALL time! This was 5 years ago, he is so much better today! He sings all genres and 13 languages. Since I first listened to Dimash 3 years ago, I have to listen to him multiple times a day. Dimash turned 29 on 24th May 2023, he’s a worldwide superstar but I suppose because he hasn’t signed a contract in the West (thank goodness!) still there are people who haven’t heard of him yet! His base/baritone registers are incredible! I think he probably had a 6 octave range here in 2018, in 2023 that has now increased to over 7 octaves. Every note beautiful! I think he’s an angel! His surname means God given, I believe that’s true!

Something out of my body, I was depressed, locked up at home and unable to go out, a friend sent me that same song, I cried a lot, it had never happened to me. Actually The Story of One Sky music and song was composed and written as the soundtrack for the short film The Story of One Sky. Without the film the song is not completely understood. One vocal coach was critical of his extreme vocals as unnecessary because she did not see the film first. Fans insisted she watch the film after which she completely understood the necessity of the extreme vocals and agreed they were brilliant and necessary to the story.
But,please Do Not go directly to One Sky, it is trul 17:13 y amazing, and I think you need to hear a lot more from him first before One Sky.
