Hi there! I noticed that this extension is requesting permission to read my browsing history. Can you please clarify why it needs this access and how it will be used?
Very fair question. Google uses confusing wording here and a lot of people misinterpret it. Basically, the extension requires access to the "tabs" resource, so that it can inject the code that is necessary to display the toolbar and its actions. Since the extension is only allowed to do so on specific websites, it needs to be able to see which pages you are currently on. That's what it means by "browsing history". This is actually the most critical permission of all, otherwise it simply won't work. It also allows the extension to open a new tab, which is necessary for the download and "expand" buttons, as well as others. But it doesn't actually sift through your history and everything remains on your local system. None of it is accessed outside the limits of your browser. However, there is one thing that I need to point out. As I said, the extension requests access to specific websites. Unfortunately, I accidentally left in the "google.com" domain, which I was using to test something during development. I then forgot to remove it, which is why it is currently not only asking for access to discord.com and midjourneystats.com, but also google.com. That was an honest mistake and was unfortunately misinterpreted by a lot of users. But that's on me. That's v0.0.20 by the way. I have already submitted an updated version (v0.0.21) which removes this error. I expect that to be reviewed and released by Google within the next 24 hours (hopefully). That being said, it will still ask for access to your browsing history. But if you google it, you'll realize that it is actually a very common permission among extensions. I hope that clarifies things a bit?
Google makes its money by collecting its users' personal data and using it to create targeted ads and personalized services. That's why I don't use Chrome.
@@TokenizedAI I trust Firefox. I don't trust Google Chrome. Firefox gives me a much more up-front, customisable user experience where I have more control over security options. Google works in the shadows, is hyper-intrusive and inherently untrustworthy. IMHO.

This has become my favorite extension, hands down and I had no qualms about dropping coin for the pro version - even if I never use the fancy features you deserve the payment for sure! I appreciate your work and your honest and genuine approach to it all. Thank you!

Not sure if this is an option but i often have to paste my prompt in and type -seed 1, then paste my prompt and type -seed 2, then -seed 3, -seed 4 etc etc. I usually make about 20 prompts (80 images) before finding one usable image to use. I have a product use case in which the product needs to (almost) perfectly match in the represented image. 10 to 20 prompts usually provides 1 usable image. if this extension were to help me stop having to type -seed 1, -seed 2, -seed 3 through seed 10 or 20 i would likely subscribe. my two cents -weird 56, -chaos 38, -iw 0.5 -ar 9:16 -seed 72, -i can’t stop using parameters even in youtube comments.

Can you clarify where exactly you asked for help? Which Discord server and which channel? Cause I don't see any unanswered help requests inside my Discord server (discord.gg/KgsBzfP5).
Good question. Then some people will start using the website and some people will continue using Discord. The Web UI will probably have its own weaknesses too. I've used the alpha and wasn't super impressed. Either way, I'll adapt the extension so it can be used on both. It will probably work a bit differently there but I'll make it useful. And technically, I eventually want to extend Promptalot to other image generators as well. Not necessarily just Midjourney.

I appreciate everyone's concern about this. As I already explained in another comment, this is because the extension accesses the "tabs" resource, which was necessary to inject the toolbar in the correct page. It is a very common permission among extensions that add UI elements to web pages. Well-known extensions such as LastPass and many others ask for the exact same permissions and even do it in a blanket way. Google's wording has been confusing about this for years because it does not actually allow the extension to look at your "history". It just allows the extension to check the URLs and title of the current tabs that you have open. That being said, I am cognizant of the fact that this is bothering a lot of people. I am currently working on a solution to this. It seems that I may be able to inject the UI elements without those permissions. I might even have an update available within the next 24 hours.
unfortunately, the free limits are going to stop me from introducing this into my workflow. it's just not enough for the amount of images I do to adjust for it. I'd be out of free ones in like 2 days.(I'd have to switch to EDGE from Firefox too.) I'd have no problem paying for it if it added different features, but the limits will just get in the way of trying it for a couple of months until I can't live without it (possibly.)
Care to elaborate on "different features"? Your high requirement for prompts puts you far beyond anything that 99% of the users are currently saving to the platform. You seem to be a significant outlier with this need. Any specific reason why you would need to save thousands of prompts in 2 days?
@@TokenizedAIMaybe I don't understand the usage. It says 500 free prompts. As I work with images I'm probably doing 50-100 an hour as I iterate an image. Is there something I don't understand? If so, i might introduce it to my workflow. Is it clicks on the toolbar? What constitutes a single prompt? As far as features it would be amazing if you had the ability to build out keywords as a pro feature with drop-downs. There are so many "options" that you can put into a prompt that have an affect but there's no way to remember them all. Maybe it could be a different cut of your tags, or crowd sourced maintenance somehow. So for example let's say I don't know that there is a style of "associated press photography", I should be able to find that in a category of photography styles and have it add it to the prompt.
Yeah, I think you misunderstood the point about the prompt limit. You can use the extension as much as you want. All of the basic features remain untouched and free. The limit only applies to prompts that you actually save to your account/profile on the Promptalot website for organizing purposes (if you even create an account). That'll become a lot more relevant once I introduce "templates" and "workflows" as additional features. I've noted down your feature idea. Sounds like something I might implement at some point.
Oh awesome! The pricing sheet just says 500 free prompts and I thought that meant a monthly usage of the toolbar to craft a prompt. That being said, I will look to integrate this into my workflow. If it's something I'm using daily, I will want to support you. @@TokenizedAI
You know it's moving to a web interface right? Why clutter up and complicate what is a clean simple UI, especially knowing it's already obsolete and being replaced? If the answer is to get "subs" and people paying you money every month, this is very dissapointing.
I am aware. I have used the alpha version and it's far from perfect. Quite the opposite actually. I will find ways to make it useful there too. And don't underestimate how many people will stay on Discord for social reasons. The extension is part of the Promptalot web app, which will eventually allow you to do things that Midjourney's web app won't (simply because it's not within the scope of their core business). So there's absolutely no need for you to suggest that I have ill intentions. Why is it that people get so upset about something they don't even need to use. And the basic version is free too. PS: Over 8,000 people seem to think it's a useful extension. Why judge?

Suddenly? It never worked on iPads. It's a Chrome browser extension and iPads don't support Chrome extensions.
