No need to have all of that set up. I have a HDMI to USB 3.0 Video Capture Card (chaired on the market for roughly $13) that streams in 4K at 60fps. Plug that into the laptop with the HDMI cord and plug that cord to the Switch dock. I hope that helps.

Meanwhile for the past month I’ve only been using:
- Elgato HD60X
- Nintendo Switch model HAC-001(-01), docked with official Nintendo Switch dock, AC Adapter and HDMI cable
- MacBook Air 15.3” (M2 chip, 2023 model), base 256GB SSD with only 8GB RAM Space Grey
- MagSafe 3 to USB-C cable connected to Apple branded compact duel USB-C port 35W power adapter
- ANKER 555 USB-C Hub (8-in-1)
- PDP Airlite Wired Headset with built-in microphone (made primarily for the Nintendo Switch, but also works for any other device that uses/has a 3.5mm headphone jack port), connected directly to my MacBook Air via the headphone jack port
- OBS Studio (for Silicon based MacOS), for streaming and recording to my CZcams channel (same account as the one I’m typing this out from)
I haven’t needed to get the Egato Prolink cable but I might do so simply for an extension cord for the PDP headset 🤷🏻♀️
I cannot for the life of me get my audio to work with my m1 and hd60 x.. for the record I can hear bits and pieces but it sounds like garbage.
How much does all that cost in total? id love to do with a MacBook also

Oh I have the same capture card, you can actually open up audio settings in the capture card via windows control panel and set it so that you listen to the device, also OBS monitoring as well. no need for the extra audio cable :)
Yes that works, only thing is the switch doesn't have a mic built in so using the chat link gives a huge benefit here so you can be heard if using game/party chat.
@@MidnightMan Problem is that most people who play on switch don't really mess with the mic settings. I personally use a wireless headset and just group up with friends via discord for vc.

I'm having an issue where the sound coming out of the switch nothing but crackles. im thinking it has something to do with the "grounding" part you mentioned, but my elHD60S+ doesnt have one of those switches.

Make sure it's plugged into the microphone jack and not the headphone jack of the capture card

So I have an iMac 2017 4.2 GHz (quad core) intel core i7, switch and a canon m50 and an Elgato hd60s which I use to play and record gameplay (cause I don’t have a tv and monitor as my iMac is 27’) I want to start live streaming, would I need to upgrade anything of the things I have now? curious to why you are using the 3.5mm cord, hdmi carries audio and video it should be sending all of it through the one cable. is it just not supported in that capture card? my buddy has the elgato HD60s and can just use hdmi
Yes you can use just HDMI, but since the switch has no built in microphone, using the chat link cable gives you the option to connect a microphone w/ headset to be able to chat with people if you want to.

You do not need the chat link at all. The audio can be pulled from the HDMI. You may just have to add an audio source in OBS.
Yes that works, but not if you want to be heard on a microphone with people you're gaming with. Also would need to mute your TV

Anybody know how to fix capture card audio that has a static/buzz to it? I’ve noticed when it’s plugged directly into my Mac it’s perfectly fine but when I have it plugged into a usb c adapter it comes back?
Can I use my MacBook Air? The version I have is 1.1 GHz Dual-Core Intel i3. When I stream using my Mac my stream is super laggy and I have the same capture card in this video. What should I do?
Dual core is not powerful enough, you’ll need a better computer. Any of the silicon Macs are good to stream on
I was really hoping you could show a way to view the Streamlabs software and gameplay separately.. like I'm streaming through the software but I have the ability to play my game without my video of myself in the way or only being able to play the game in the software where it looks so much smaller... idk if that's possible but I hate having so much going on around my game or on it.
If I’m understanding you correctly, you do NOT want to play your game from the computer. There is a natural delay, you want to view your game from your monitor or TV outputting the console video feed directly.

I have 2 monitors and would like one to have the Streamlabs setup and the other to have my game full screen so I can actually see what I'm playing without the Streamlabs software obstructing my view and having to play my game through the tiny window in the streaming software with my head also in the way. lol idk if that's possible or even makes sense. lol
The audio from the Chat Link Pro doesn’t come into Streamlabs. It just doesn’t appear

If so, how do you route audio?
Totally! Audio can be passed over HDMI through the capture card. The computer your gaming on must have the capture card set as the audio output device via OS settings essentially.

I would double check your cables and connections, make sure everything is hooked up correct and that you're not passing a higher refresh than what you're capture card/monitor can handle.

Yes it will work! Use the chat link with your headset mic and have a second mic for commentary

I tested it out, didn’t work well on Mac. Might in the future make one for windows, we shall see but it’s not high up on the list atm 👍🏽
