The four star ball is the first dragon ball that goku ever had, he got it from his grandpa gohan after he passed. You could say it has a lot of meaning because it started the journey.
To answer your question about Trunks. Future Trunks lived in Universe 7, but in a different timeline/parallel world. Universe 6 is another universe, but a universe in the same flow of time as ours (The timeline Goku and friends are currently in).
Future Trunks is from a different timeline, same universe.
More accurately, Trunks is from an alternate reality with their own twelve universes
Future Trunks' Universe is really just a different "timeline" and so there's only 12 universes within 1 timeline but time travel would create an alternate timeline.
And we know of at least 3. This one, Future Trunks' timeline, and Cell's timeline where he took the machine back instead of Trunks.

Monaka used a technique similar to Mr Satan's Miracle Special Ultra Super Megaton Punch that was used against 18. Much like Mr Satan's technique, it shocks the body so bad it has a delayed reaction.

I truly believe Monaka pulled the punch quite hard. He had to ring out Hit after all. If he had used his full power it would have likely vaporized the entire galaxy they were in. C:

The four star ball is important because it’s the first one we see in Dragon Ball. Grandpa Gohan had it and left it to Goku when he died. When Goku was a kid living alone he would talk to the ball and call it “Grandpa”
I’m glad other people already mentioned why the four star ball is so important due to it being the first ball that Goku started his journey with Dragon Ball but also, I’m sure that when it was created that they wanted to put emphasis on the four star ball more so because it also is midway between one and seven. Just a nice even and middle number.

To your question, Trunks is from an alternate reality. His timeline is the "original" whereas the one we are watching is the result of Trunks altering time (and thus reality) causing a split. Both realities have a set of twelve universes overseen by Grand Zeno

Especially before Goku went SSJ. It was honestly so annoying. Each episode had like one move that they each used for the entire episode. Then the other half was just the characters on the sidelines constantly worrying and describing how one is doing better or worse. Lmao

I wouldn't say universe, because Future Trunks for Z came from his timeline to warn Goku about the android threat, and because of this, Goku died from the heart virus and the other Z fighters got killed by the Androids except Gohan who was the last warrior left until he died cause Trunks to turn Super Saiyan

Biggest misconception a lot of DragonBall fans have especially ones that didn’t watch original DragonBall is that Goku is dumb he’s inexperienced in Super they dumbed him down to try to recapture the naiveness of him when he was young cause he lost his grandpa when he was like 5 and was living on his own till he met Bulma at 12 there’s so much Goku doesn’t know but he’s always known and been around martial arts and he’s a Saiyan that’s why he loves fighting so much and he wants to be the best fighter he can be that’s ultimately the story of DragonBall being the best fighter but yea Goku isn’t really dumb he’s naïve but most fans and even the writers sometimes play into him being dumb tho

Trunks is in the 7th universe. Same timeline as Goku and everyone. Hes just from the future version of the timeline. Which he changed and branched off when he went back in time. If he hadn't come back in time, it would have continued as Trunks knows it, but instead its on its own path now. So technically, "future trunks" is no longer their "direct future" if that makes sense. We got a hint of this back in DBZ when trunks didn't know who android 19 and 20 were.
