    As someone that was a former Cast Member at Disney World through the Disney College program, those underground tunnels was the best idea Walt had. There is also a Subway restaurant down there for the Cast Members and a salad bar and hot grill. Also, there is a beauty salon so that the Face Actors; which are Snow White, Cinderella, etc, to get their wigs and make up done. There is a small game room down there near the door to Main Street. Another secret is how Cast Members get to the Magic Kingdom entrance for them. Cast Members have their own parking lot and there is a bus we would take from West Clock that would bus us over to the Cast Member entrance to the underground tunnels.

      When I used to work at the Magic Kingdom In 80s and 90s the cafeteria was a full functioning restaurant. We had a grill, entree line, salad bar and speciality bar. On paydays on Thursday we used to get 6oz prime rib dinner for five dollars. They served breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    The tower of terror doesn't drop you. According to the Engineer that built it, it works by a spring pulling you down faster than gravity and is much safer than people think.

    • @ryanlovesanimalcrossing1887
      @ryanlovesanimalcrossing1887 Před 7 lety +88

      That's right, just not a spring. It's a pulley system, with a motor that pulls you down faster than you would fall with gravity.

    As a former Jungle Cruise skipper, it technically isn’t a track, but a trough. Looks like a martini glass, which gives the boat the natural rocking motion. The skipper does control the boat (forward, back, neutral), but doesn’t steer. It’s a pain because each boat was different!! Some more finicky than others. Jungle is also one of the few areas on ground level. :3
    And to add, in Liberty Square, you’ll find a tree with lanterns. There are thirteen lanterns, one for each of the original thirteen colonies. Each lantern is made by craftsmen in that state, so if one were to break, it must be sent back to that state to repair.

    Technically, the Utilidor is not a tunnel system, since it is not underground. The area where Magic Kingdom sits is only 3 feet above water level, so if they dug underground, they would have had to spend a lot more money than they had budgeted for to drain the swampy land, so they built the Utilidor above ground (as a basement) with the earth that they had excavated from Seven Seas Lagoon forming the structure of the Utilidor.

    Err, wouldn't the American flags not have the current number of stars mainly in order to match the time period of the Main Street setting? It would be wrong for them to have the same number of stars as the current flag, anyway, regardless of the flag code. I think not having to take them down is just a happy side effect of the theming.

    • @jaylaurtutorials369
      @jaylaurtutorials369 Před 6 lety

      Chris Knight do you think that this guy just guessed that the flags were Like that????

    • @cwknight
      @cwknight Před 6 lety

      3 wish Of slime not necessarily but people believe and repeat misconceptions all the time, don't they? Including Disney themselves -- for example, it wasn't until after Tony Baxter discovered the maintenance record card in the early 2000's that the existence of the Hat Box Ghost was acknowledged as ever existing. Before then, even though it was mentioned officially on the pre-release audio album, Disney denied it's existence.

      According to the Keys of the Kingdom tour, the flags they don't have to take down only have 12 stripes, so nothing to do with the theming. Plus there's other areas on property that have these flags up all the time, obviously nothing to do with turn of the century theming anywhere else.

    • @scotthouston4714
      @scotthouston4714 Před 5 lety

      @@FrenkTheJoy Also on that tour, They tell you that Main Street leading up to Cinderella's castle is built going uphill. The reason is for the safety of the guests and to slow them down while heading toward the castle, Also another secrect is that all the parade floats have drivers hidden inside of them.

    Great video which gets a few things wrong. My sister did a training at Disney for her airline. They told her that the grounds are red at sunset world because the color red pops in pictures and makes the park look more appealing. Also for the scents, they said they put certain scents around the park not to make it feel authentic but to subliminally give guests the urge to spend money. For example they will make it smell like popcorn and you will want to buy popcorn.
