- www.playbill.com/video Shoshanna Bean (she doesn't "go by" ShoBean, but people seem to call her that for some reason) joined Seth Rudetsky in the studio for the latest and greatest episode of OBSESSED! Bean and Seth go back a ways - he saw her in the 2000 Off-Broadway production of "Godspell" and knows all the tech-based details of her "Defying Gravity" epic fail. The pair performs a mashup of several of Seth's ShoBean obsessions including "Coronet Man," "sassafras" mixed with Foghorn Leghorn (yes, this sounds too nutty even for Seth, we know) and signature whistle tone to top it all off.

Not sure if I was at the specific show she is talking about in this video, but I saw a Shoshana no fly show on Broadway on July 15, 2005 (I remember the specific date because my cousin was born that day). I had seen the show before with Idina, so I knew something was wrong when she didn't go up.
Her voice reminds me of sister Mary Robert from sister act the film.

Idina didn't have a full no fly show, but she did have one where the lift rose way too late, while she was singing "everyone deserves the chance to fly!", and well, like Shoshana, she riffed a lot during that performance

....Yeah Seth Where did "Defying Gravity" go? you forgot to let her sing it!. 😆 By the way, I Did Love her "whistle tone". As a very amateur singer I've tried hitting a note like that (even with a lot of warming up singing other songs, and singing songs with a similar note) and it is tough, but of course Shoshana is a professional singer so she would know the trick to get it done.

You find him obnoxious, most of us find him incredibly fun. Also: hugely talented, experienced, full of good stories, and able to get all kinds of artists to come tell their stories, and sing, and he raises a lot of money for very good causes.
