@Chuka Torres I messed my hair up some kinda serious the other week thanks to Corona shuttin down all the shops & forcing me to cut my own hair, but instead of giving up I am gonna keep trying cause everybody says that’s how you learn... I’m spending the next few weeks really trying to study the blending technique (which I struggled with) & out of all the vids I’m watching rn, I feel most comfortable with yours cause you’re literally going step by step & ALSO explain every step in plain English so that it makes sense even to non-barbers like myself... Still have a lot of learning/studying to do, but thank you so much for taking the time to post this. It’s one thing to have a gift & use it to your own advantage, but when you use that gift to help others to be great, that’s priceless. Thanks again bro ✊🏾💯
@@tmoney5976 Thankfully I did! It’s still a work in process for me because I have no siblings & you can’t legally cut out here without a license (which means I can only practice on myself & my hair only grows back so fast lol). It legit takes me 2-3 hours to cut my hair, mainly because I’m tryin so hard to NOT mess up my hair lol. Dummy heads would be nice, but that ain’t an option for me rn considering the cost. So yea, it’s been a slow process lol but I’m learning something new each time I give myself a cut, I’m avoiding previous mistakes & gradually improving. Just takes a lot of patience in my case, since I have nobody else to practice on 🤦🏾♂️ lol. Tapering the back, clipper over comb & adding texture to the top w/ shears are prob my 3 biggest struggles rn because of the awkward angles you gotta place your wrist in when doing any of the above on your own head smh. I also broke my half guard, but that’s another conversation lmao.
I'm not a barber but I want to be. I think what you do is dope. I like the transition that the barber make happen for the people. The people come in rough but leave smooth...
I like that black barber pole , in the back ... great advice man. One of my goals this year is to master shear cutting straight hair. I handle the bottom but I feel my way around the top. So I'm investing in some videos but also searching for a one or two day workshop in the USA. Eric , ATL by way of DMV 👍🏽
Shit so hard to do when you cut your own hair, but I am mastering this. Would love to link with other self-barbers. Been cutting my own hair since 6th grade....I still want to know how to zero gap the blades properly or better yet where I can send them to to have them done.
definitely feel you on the tighter blend at the bottom, my only question is what tips/strategies do you have on shortening the time of a cut, i average about an hour for a really detailed clean fade, any tips on how to save time
NOW YOU ARE TEACHING US THE BARBER ,,, I WILL KEEP WATCHING YOUR DIDEO UNTELL I WILL LEARN FROM YOU ALSO I LIKE THE WAY YOU EXPLAIN TO US MAY ALMIGHTY GOD BLESS YOUR HANDS WORK FOREVER IN JESUS NAME
great job once again, what are, and how much are those clippers you are using for the fade? they are strong for a rechargeable clipper I was in doubt about getting some for not being sure if they would be strong enough. but now I know. if they wasn't good you wouldn't be using them. great job B stay up.
I appreciate the comment if your fade is loose then it's not tight enough at the bottom and if u can make a video showing how stretch a blend like a drop fade or something like that over all thanx bruh I really be tryin to get my shit up watchin
I am currently doing an apprenticeship in cosmetology and barbering. What can you share that will prepare those in a position like myself improve in all areas of the profession? Thank you for the videos, I enjoy them and they are very informative. Peace
Find a barber you admire in your city and take him out to coffee. Watch barbers on here. perfect the craft and have a pleasing personality. I just posted a video about goal setting on the rich barber tv. Check it out and let me know if it helps.
Rashaan Wesley chuka usually starts his fades off with the clipper in the closed position working his way to the open position .. and when he put on guards he starts at the open position and works to the closed position..
Makes it look easy. Looked a little high at first but came out clean as hell!!!!
was thinking same. dont know if that was intentional or not
Please explain me what he mean with “tight”
@@valentinarabadjiev7708 like shorter hair in that area or hair length closer to head. Mainly closer to head I believe.
looking back he fucked up but he fixed it
This explanation about the tightness at the start of the blend is GOLD!!! I started doing this and it just took my blends to the next level.
I mess with you and your movement because you are one hell of a barber and you're not afraid to share your knowledge... Keep doing ya thing!
I've been cutting hair 4 about 13 yrs. and I had to grind to learn seems like you have a natural gift

I generally struggle with blending, but this video and tips about moving the blend and making it tight really helps
I agree with staying in rhythm with your clippers. I always feel I cut the best when I got that rhythm going.

Now that's some gifted hands I couldn't visualize how the cut was going to end but it was a lesson not to second guess a visual of a cut 🖒🖒🖒
a vid on specifying what a low fade or low drop fade is. I find a lot of barbers go really high, but maybe that's standard?
Alexis Harris sup
Ya, to me I’d consider this more of a mid-high

Fresh ass cut and good tips
Can u explain keeping the rhythm of the clippers to get a more smoother cut
So basically to make a blend tighter, make small adjustments and keep pushing the line up?
Yup. you want to push the guideline up and its important to keep the rhythm of your clippers and really be in tune with them.
Chuka Torres how important is it to switch the blade on your magic clips
Thanks man, i'll use it !
can you do another one about the blend on a shadow fade
im learning a lot from you thanks for shering bro
Could you make more videos using the whal really took a lot of this ... and what clips do you prefer as a barber
What type of of machine do you use for edge up?? It seems like it cuts clean and better than the And is T-liner.
great job once again, what are, and how much are those clippers you are using for the fade? they are strong for a rechargeable clipper I was in doubt about getting some for not being sure if they would be strong enough. but now I know. if they wasn't good you wouldn't be using them. great job B stay up.

good video as always but can u explain what notch you put it on before u make a guideline and take one one out
Rashaan Wesley chuka usually starts his fades off with the clipper in the closed position working his way to the open position .. and when he put on guards he starts at the open position and works to the closed position..
Rashaan Wesley if you are using the andis masters u would start the fade at the second knotch..
Thankz homie really preciate it
Tour of your shop or station set up ;)
That's a great idea. Thank you salute
Chuka Torres did u keep the snagger tooth blade on or did u change it to a regular fade blade??
mario simmons changed it to the standard blade
