Kubota Powered GMC Sierra 1500!!!

- Kubota 3.3L Common Rail Diesel swapped GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. Originally this engine came from a skid steer. I built a compounded turbo setup for more potential horsepower in the future. As it stands right now, its 70hp and 200Lb torque. Cruises at highway speeds and gets around 30MPG.

It’s been a while now since I built it. But I have been driving it daily, approx 20,000km so far, with no hiccups. Getting over 30mph now on highway, 25 in town
Mph or mpg? I assume mpg but just curious
Mph:) the engine rev limit is 3000rpm so top speed is 140kph
@@nissannation oh wow. Ok I didn’t expect that haha. That’s a cool build regardless. It would be cool to see you do a rear end swap for higher speed or something like that.

It’s currently only 70hp with 205-215ft/lbs torque… so it wouldn’t have the power to go any faster . I need to find something or someone that can tune a Kubota (Denso) ecu
@@nissannation ah ok.
I wish Toyota would build a truck with an engine like this. Nothing fancy needed. Just cheap and reliable to run
They do.....
@@Bmr4ten but.... I can't get it..
Cheap to run...can't say that about the price of Diesel fuel, currently. In my community it's still CA$2/L or above, or not available at fuel stations.
The problems all come from government regulations so you've got to do it yourself.
This man has single handily made a gm reliable
I don’t get it… gm vehicles are typically pretty reliable in general.
@@littledeel Until GM skimps on working ignition switches and kills a baker's dozen of people. I would rather have a Ford. Too bad Honda or Toyota doesn't make utility vans and trucks. EDIT: Toyota makes trucks, almost forgot about that.
That hurts since it’s true for the last 10+ years. Bout to break and buy a Tundra. Take it back to my high school years and my 85.5’ Supra! Don’t tell anyone, but she was 1 and 0 in the highest of stakes racing… So was my 84 GTI. Bwahaha
Pps my tadpole count has plummeted since those day.
It's sad really
@@WJCTechymanimagine still talking about that stupid scam of a lawsuit because you consoom muh media stories like the dumb boomer cattle you are
Nice photos, Tim Hortons coffee, drive by Kubota dealer, and even turned the truck off at the end, what a beauty
Great video!
Plz make more videos on this truck !
Outstanding work man. Just finished a 2203 in my 48 Willy’s
UNIQUE pickup engine swap, NICE!! (I also got a GMC Sierra 4 door, 2012, and is white.)
Awesome job. Hope to get on this level some day.
Thanks Man. Appreciate the comment :)
I like it! Thinking about the F5802 in my F150
Grate job guys!
Awesome guys
Lot of work for those low number. A bit like Shifted Interest from ontario with his kubota powered Ranger Nice work none the less!!
Thank you. 70hp is just the stock ecu program. We will bump it up a little more in time, but the main goal of this project is to have a full size truck with a kubota engine that gets 30mpg+ and does highway speeds.
Man that really is some quality work, Is it getting 30 mpg and will it do highway speeds. Did you go with a lower stall converter. As the stall on that tmbx converter a little high. I cant think of the code that uses a 1100-1300. Been wanting to do the same thing except to use a mercedes/dodge sprinter drivetrain.
That is BADASS!
This is really cool man could you make more videos on it?
Very nice!
I wonder what the Kubota dealer thought of this mod? I wish I had the time, money, knowledge and patience to do something like this.
I was a mechanic at the kubota dealership for 11 years:) they were very supportive of me doing it after hours in the shop. Took 1 year to make the engine and electronics work together, and another 4 months to mate the transmission and accessories. Over 30,000 km without issue, and 0ver 30mpg
@@nissannation Nice. Better than the old engine, I would think, it probably increases resale value too...now if Diesel fuel could drop in price.
Please do a more in-depth video, Awesome build
That post was supposed to be a reply, thank you Cory for the compliment 👍👍
@@nissannation What transmission is that? 4l80E? Did you get a low stall converter?
Sweet 👌
More reliable than the chevy powertrain :))))))
Does your machinist still have the files to duplicate the accessory brackets and bell housing adapter bracket?
Nice build. I’m doing similar swap into a Jeep. What size turbo/model did you end up using?
Could you make a video going over the wiring on keeping the factory gauges and transmission working with it? I have 2010 gmc 1500 with a 5.3 and want to put a Cummins in it! Thanks
Also how to get the fly by wire pedal to work
Considering doing a Kubota into a S10. Or first gen tundra what will be the best fit for that vehicle?
Is the factory gm ecu and engine harness still there or how did you keep the gauges working and the bcm stuff functioning?
👍👍
What is this slice of steel round stock pictured in your hand at 1:39? It's has many groves cut into its face giving it the resemblances of a clock face
That’s the weighted fuel pickup for in the fuel tank. It sits on the bottom of tank
I’ve got an engine same as yours with the ecu but no wiring harness. From a 2015 Yale forklift. Did you have a harness that you modified or start one from scratch?
Thanks
Made a harness from scratch. The hardest part was sourcing all of the connectors. The biggest was the 2 ecu plugs, found them on Alibaba I believe.
How much for the truck?
I have the just newer model v3800 common rail. How did you do the wiring?
What year of engine is it? Where did it come from? I built my own harness from scratch.
How many hp and torque you putting down thinking of building a Kubota engine
Description says 70hp 200lb/ft
Is the truck forsale if not how much would you charge for the same swap ?
I suppose that everything is for sale for the right price? :) it’s my daily driver so I wasn’t really planning on it. It was a very time consuming project and I wouldn’t be interested in doing it again.

Hey man sell this truck to me I live in Canada
Make me an offer
@@nissannation I know there is A LOT of time and money in that truck from what I seen I wouldn’t even know where to start on a price range tbh .. but throw a number at me plz !
I’d trade my civic typeR plus cash for it or if you want just straight cash we can do that too if it’s not something crazy crazy
Well after it rolled over 40,000km on the kubota engine, I sold my new truck and it is now my daily driver. I dont really want to sell it but thank you for the interest!!
I am currently working on a 9sec 8th gen civic. Caged, awd, 1000hp.
