I'm from Greece and I traveled almost all Europe. After 2 visits to Bulgaria, we liked it so much that the 3rd time we went with our own car and drove around almost all of Bulgaria. It is a very beautiful country with incredible places to visit and very beautiful nature. The issue is not only the well-known tourist cities-countries, but to be willing to discover the hidden but perhaps most beautiful parts of a country. I do this on almost all trips and the most beautiful places are also the least known. Many countries are underestimated for no reason and unfortunately Bulgaria is one of them

When I go for summer to Slokakia for 1 month I'm so glad to see no emigrants, no turist only local people, local meal, local things. I'm glad no many turist like to go to Slovakia so I enjoyed it much more without been crowded. There are only Polisch, Hungarian and Czech tourism.

Bulgaria has so many stunning mountain sites but also it has the Black sea with some nice beaches. It also has so many roman antique architecure. Plovdiv for example , oldest city in europe, is a must see. And everything is so affordable

I always know when I watch those videos to skip to the end where they talk about the bad experience and I know Bulgaria will be there (sorry to say it but Moldova also is always there for some reason) sometimes I think all the people see in Bulgaria is like Sunny Beach or something, I really believe u can’t hate Sozopol, Nesebar or Veliko Tarnovo, even Plovdiv and Sofia as visitor are amazing, mountains, sea, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, divers wildlife and endemic flora, rich traditional and delicious food, I really don’t know beside better marketing what can we do better to get at least some recognition😃

    • @vvorttexx
      @vvorttexx Před 8 měsíci +2

This is precisely what she said - if you do not know a local is practically impossible to get the most out of it. So yeah - marketing, improved tourist information centers, combined advertisement and trips (for example sea+mountain or historical sites+natural wonders) to show that even though geographically speaking not very big, I believe in terms of variety we are up there with the best (for example everything that Italy has to offer we have the same).

Bulgaria is such a diverse country - you have the Black sea, multiple mountains, rivers, lakes, epic nature and scenery. Not to mention the amount of history here - Bulgaria is in top 30 list of most UNESCOs sites in the world, oldest city in Europe is in Bulgaria and many, many other things, so much culture of so many nations that have lived here in just one place. Would love to know where did you go when you were in Bulgaria and also if you come by again - count me for your local guide, so you will have an amazing experience :)

Yeah, but typically you visit the beach and I've never heard anyone who came home and said that I want to go there again.
Also I've never heard a story from an other country that someone was kidnapped from a bar and the employees say that his friends shouldn't worry, these guys were only the local drunk mob and they will release him by the morning...
Like this story literally happened with my friend. Luckily the kidnapped person was so drunk that he didn't even remember. He just woke up on the side of the road without most of his clothes...
And I'm from Hungary, and I don't want to be rude, I could do hours of sttalk about my country too, but I believe Bg has a very bad reputation. (BTW I work with Bulgarian people and I love them )

I've only seen the capitals of Belarus, Slovakia and Moldova and I can't disagree there. But I would say Bulgaria is really worth exploring, especially up in the mountains around Bansko and Plovdiv is a very nice city. Santorini is definitely overrun, but if you visit in off season then it really is one of the most stunning Greek islands with a lot of hidden gems. Meanwhile there are 227 inhabited islands in Greece, many of which are little known yet absolutely amazing, like Anafi, right next to Santorini, or Amorgos, Donousa, Astypalea, Tilos, Folegandros. I would say that Romania is one of the most underrated countries in Europe, as well as Ireland. If you rent a car to get beyond the main attractions there are tons of incredible little known historical sites in both countries. Are you planning to film more of Greece while you're there?

Sorry, but if you've visited just Bratislavy (99% because you were travelling from Vienna to Budapest or back), you saw and experienced absolutely nothing from that country. It is like you went to the Red Square in Moscow and say "I have visited Russia". And judging a country from walking on 5 streets in one city... Slovakia is mostly a rural/mountainous country, just look on the map, how much of it you've visited. So please, don't judge a country, when you've skipped it.

Slovenia is quite a gem indeed! It was a shame that I only got to go for 2 days, but I absolutely loved it, and I would love to go back again someday especially to see the area around the Julian Alps. I've been to a lot of European countries so far, and I really enjoyed Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, and Czechia. Although it's technically on the border of Europe and Asia, Georgia is also a beautiful hidden gem too. About Northern lights, I am hunting them for 3 years. Glass igloos are not the best become glass blocks some of the auroras AND it usually iced so not transparent. Also Finland is way too cold (-30C), try Norway or Iceland! For northern lights, you have to stay at least 2-3 weeks (or even more) because it is way more difficult to see a crazy show that what people think. Most tourists see little auroras and think it is the real deal but it is not!!! ;). Aurora hunting is actually quite complex... In summer or winter, I can only recommend you Norway (where I moved now), south or north, it is incredible!

People usually go to either to the coast, Madrid, Barcelona or Balearic Islands, but there’s so many amazing cities all around Spain. You must visit the north, Galicia is an amazing place, also Cantabria, Asturias and the Basque Country for sure. If you to go the Pyrenees through Huesca, you’re gonna enjoy mountains. Visit Toledo, Segovia, Burgos, Granada, Córdoba… not only the big cities, and then it will for sure be on your top3. Amazing video btw!

I think you should give Bulgaria another shot. There's mountains, beautiful lakes, waterfalls, endless fields, the black sea and some of the oldest cities and landmarks in all of Europe.
Definitely worth making a bit of research on, I think when it comes to nature and sightseeing it's a lovely place. Not politically tho lol
    Also, the food absolutely slaps.

I was just in Bulgaria for 3 months and had the best time. Fantastic place and really affordable for anyone on a budget. I had people showing me around since my gf is from there. As mentioned in the video having a local show you around is the best. My gf's uncle took me to a bagpipe festival in the Rhodope Mountains completely epic.

@@oliverinmga I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay! I studied abroad for 5 years and all the friends that I've brought back to Bulgaria for a visit have loved it. I genuinely think its a lovely place to visit as a tourist, living there full time is a different story and certainly has downsides.
And yes, having someone to show you around definitely helps a lot.

As a Slovenian I’m really happy to see my home country mentioned as a hidden gem. But lately I’ve noticed that we really need to get from a hidden gem to just a gem. Most tourists stay just for a day and see only Ljubljana and Bled but miss out on the best spots like the ones you mentioned in the Soča valley

Mostar during the Season is always crowded. Most of the Tourists travel from Dubrovnik to Mostar on a one day trip. However, from 17 h the majority of tourists are gone back to Croatia or Sarajevo and the city feels lot better to explore. The crowds vanish magically.

You didn't say where you were in Bulgaria. You just as if told other people that our country is not worth visiting. But it is the oldest place in Europe with amazing nature and culture. Just go prepared and read more, then there is not even that much of a need to go around with locals. I have met a lot of foreigners randomly walking , excited to explore and asking me where they shoud go and they liked it.

Don't forget to mention Flixbus instead of trains. In eastern Europe it's so cheap but the Netherlands is pretty expensive. Taking Flix busses from the Netherlands to other countries is the cheapest way.
Another suggestion is to buy the Germany pass and next year the French pass.

Do you want to travel together? Since we both visited every country in the world, it would make for an interesting duo. We could compare our experiences and visit new places in the countries where we haven't been to before. I'm going to go to Bolivia next for a week then to Madeira for another week then to the Azores. You could join my itinerary or I could join your itineraries. These days, I have a flexible schedule and have a lot of free time since all the countries have been checked off the list. What do you think of this idea? I'm also good at videography, so I could take your videos and you could hold the camera for me too.

As a Syrian Christian person, I feel connected to countries like Greece and Italy, and I feel that we are similar in appearance, customs, and history, especially since we are peoples very closely linked to the Mediterranean. These two countries are my favorites, in addition to Switzerland. If there is a country in Europe that I must spend the rest of my life in, I will choose Switzerland because it is a very peaceful country. It is beautiful and has land borders with wonderful and beautiful countries such as Austria, Germany and France❤
