I love all kinds of music, but between Dave Matthews Band and Rush, the hair on my arms still stand up!!! I guess it doesnt hurt that i play drums as well..Carter & Neil..God Bless Him..!!😊
Remember seeing this live, nights 1 and 2 both had unbelievable set lists. I also think this is the best performance of the stone ever. I could listen to jeff's sax solo over and over again and never get sick of it especially @ 8:38
From the future: he doesn’t hit the notes the same but the old songs are still just as good, really. The new ones are mostly meh, which you probably wouldn’t understand.
Oh, my darling..If I could relive these 10 years with you all over again, with all the joy and pain they brought me, I will..I will...My one and only Love...
I always forget that good things happened on the 2009 tour. I remember it as a ton of Big Whiskey with some classics thrown in that were played really up-tempo and aggressively, without as much soul. Good to remember a gem like this.
The moment in 03:57 shows how musically sensitive and talented this band is. The ability to make a mistake sounds very natural without no disturbances..
@@borischakalov7973 So that chorus on 03:57 was not supposed to end quietly.. Carter was supposed to bang the hell out the drum on that particular part, but he got mixed up so he ended quietly.. Then he realized the mistake, and then he build it up the to the next verse. The right part where Carter was supposed to end quietly is actually on the next chorus, which happened on 04:45.
Great tune. The band is the perfect combo of people for the job. The stone is one of my favorites by them. They had a quartet or some shit in the studio. Kudos Boyd for sounding like more than one person.
Just ignore him. he clearly needs a damn hug. (Opens arms) Comon Kurt, ... Bring it in buddy, comon ... got a big hug for ya... Let it out.... shhhhhhh ... just let it out .... there there ... it will be alright... shhhhhh (wipes tears from Kurt's eyes) everything will be okay.
Okay, maybe you need a hug (from a distance) and a medical professional.... but not here..... elsewhere .... far away from here ..... far far away.... Where there is no access to CZcams .... or internet .... or computers .... or kids.
Sorry, but there's a typo in the title. This is not "The Stone" ... This is "THE Stone" Please show some respect for the best rendition of the best song ever performed! Thanks ;-)
I take it you never listened to Listener Supported? Sorry, but any version of any Dave Matthews Band song without Roi is not the "best rendition ever". My opinion though :-)
Don't mean to be trolling and I get that some people love Roi no matter what, but on this particular song the horns were very limited during Roi's time. So if I have to think about what I'm looking for in the best version of the Stone, horns would be the last instrument to consider... Not to mention that Jeff basically created a whole new section here...
Please Dave will you play this at Camden 6/29, this Saturday? I am going with my one friend who has never seen you before and The Stone is his favorite song of all time......
Actually I think Carter accidentally was going into the respite part where just the verse is played, AND Dave sang the wrong part. You can see Stefan smiling at the flub, but Carter fucking picked up on it and saved the day.
I really dont like the new saxo player, i miss LeRoi, he was a brilliant creator, he new when and how play his solos not trying to get attention, just flowing in the wind.
I love all kinds of music, but between Dave Matthews Band and Rush, the hair on my arms still stand up!!! I guess it doesnt hurt that i play drums as well..Carter & Neil..God Bless Him..!!😊
I was there that night and it was my birthday, I remember that night was killer. Best birthday ever!!!!
Remember seeing this live, nights 1 and 2 both had unbelievable set lists. I also think this is the best performance of the stone ever. I could listen to jeff's sax solo over and over again and never get sick of it especially @ 8:38
Since it was the first time i had heard Jeff play,I remember being in in the crowd thinking, wow LeRoi would be proud
I have seen many bands live...this is "THEE BAND." So talented and so tight!!!!
One of my deep down forever favorites.
One of my favorite songs from my favorite show I’ve ever been to…what a night! What a performance of “The Stone”!! I couldn’t help but fall in love 😊
this is one badass song and group!!! been seeing them since 12/27/95 @ the onmi in Atlanta-been in love since. i love REAL music!!!
Amazing this was five years ago. I pray dave can hit notes like this for years to come
From the future: he doesn’t hit the notes the same but the old songs are still just as good, really. The new ones are mostly meh, which you probably wouldn’t understand.
I love to watch Boyd's magnificent arms playing his fiddle. He adds so much to this band. I will be missing him.
'
Finally a Dave Matthews performance with no dislikes. There are some sensible people out there
incredible dave as always...see you this summer...not one show yet has disappointed
No song by any artist could ever top this...... NOBODY!!
Oh, my darling..If I could relive these 10 years with you all over again, with all the joy and pain they brought me, I will..I will...My one and only Love...
Omg I'm so happy i found this :). I was there too, VERY hot and humid day. This is great.
Look up the story about Dave's sister and this song. Amazing. My go to when people say they don't like DMB.
I go to "Don't Drink the Water."
Kevin T ...same!
I love to watch Carter. He has these amazing parts and always has a smile and chewing gum. he's incredible.
This song. This outro. Carter bouncing on his stool. Gets me every single time.
One of their best songs, great version too..
I always forget that good things happened on the 2009 tour. I remember it as a ton of Big Whiskey with some classics thrown in that were played really up-tempo and aggressively, without as much soul. Good to remember a gem like this.
I loved this, thank you so much for sharing!
Yup. And you see Stefan looking over, Carter smiling, and Dave smirking. That was definitely the best save ever...
Haha. I'm still rockin' this performance. Very moving.
this is one of the most beautiful versions of this song ive ever seen. love dave and his happiness @7:25. hes the best.
sierra paul U don't want to play it out either, looses some magic.
such a beautiful outro
well.... this is the best thing ever. The passion here is just, second to none. DMB are the best!!!!
this song is the shit!!!!! i can't wait to see them in september.
The Range of sound is mind blowing.
The moment in 03:57 shows how musically sensitive and talented this band is. The ability to make a mistake sounds very natural without no disturbances..
Not sure what you call a mistake? Carter's pause? Boyd's or Steffan's build-up?

@@brammurti oh, I see. I thought that was intentional.
magical.. Can't wait for July.. Goosebumps..
i was just wondering if you'd come along. love it.
I agree, this is simply amazing.......Awsome
I love how Dave at 6:23 starts singing the bit "But I can't help falling in love with you", caught me off guard at first.
His band is awesome / but it's incredible when he does this one solo !!!###
i was here, amazing!
Great tune. The band is the perfect combo of people for the job. The stone is one of my favorites by them.

Are you talking to yourself? This entire thread is nothing but you, do you need a hug and a visit to a local therapist?
Don't try to give me shit for cracking a joke, I love Dave Matthews. Lighten up.
any chance the sound of this gets updated with the one from the upcoming warehouse 10.6 disc?
Sorry, but there's a typo in the title. This is not "The Stone" ... This is "THE Stone"

Great tune
The best version of The Stone since Jeff Coffin joined the band...
Chills EVERY time at 5:22 and 7:25
brilliant
I wish I knew how to play guitar like this....
It's cute how Dave lets his dad play saxophone with him.
Please Dave will you play this at Camden 6/29, this Saturday? I am going with my one friend who has never seen you before and The Stone is his favorite song of all time......
Man how long has Leroi been gone…
I love how after he forgets his lines at 3:57, the next line is ... "from that fools mistake, and i forever pay"... lol
Actually I think Carter accidentally was going into the respite part where just the verse is played, AND Dave sang the wrong part. You can see Stefan smiling at the flub, but Carter fucking picked up on it and saved the day.
"The Common Core.. IS The Stone."
only at SPAC BABY!!!!!!
@ 9:23 Elvis is in heaven eating a peanut butter, hone and banana sandwich singing along with the crowd.
I noticed it too. I'm glad. Now I know they're human.
That screaming at 7:25 moves me so hard.
This horn outro of Only Fools Fall in Love is epic. That's all.
thats what makes it no mistake
I love the intro in this song, where's the intro? where is it? that violin that sounds like a horror vintage movie!!!
The "Wisemen" is the shit!
Nice catch dude, but your very right

The Band is so great but it lost when they lost BOYD!!!!
Miss Leroi

I really dont like the new saxo player, i miss LeRoi, he was a brilliant creator, he new when and how play his solos not trying to get attention, just flowing in the wind.
Jealous...
