- On Valentines Day 1992, WXGZ of Green Bay, Wisconsin said goodbye. The sign-off included retrospects and behind-the-scenes footage from the station. After Ed Myers (the announcer for the station) and Roy Smith (general manager for the station) said their last goodbyes, the station signs of after nearly 8 years.
A couple of notes:
1. Addressing the elephant in the room; this a reupload. The original uploader was terminated last year.
2. I got this footage from @damianvhs4127 . All credit goes to him.
3. I apologize for the sound cutting out at around 5:35. The sound was most likely copyrighted.
After the message with static was shown a black screen showed for a few more seconds before the transmitter was shut down, and static appeared on people’s TV sets.
All the employees were laid off.
At what time did this happen at, 12:00AM?
How does this date to 1992? This footage looks of better quality than it claims to be. It's ridiculous 😂
Is there any possibility of an uncut version (with the music included) being uploaded the Internet Archive?
I’ll try.
