ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns with multi-Grammy-nominated Cuban-born singer-songwriter and actress Camila Cabello claiming her red chair alongside superstar returning coaches John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Carson Daly returns as host for Season 22.
The show's innovative format features four stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts and Live Performance Shows. This season's Battle Advisors include Charlie Puth (Team Camila), Jazmine Sullivan (Team Legend), Jimmie Allen (Team Blake) and Sean Paul (Team Gwen). For the first time ever, the third phase of the competition will include three-way knockouts.
In the Live Performance Shows, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast, and the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

Oh no. I will tell you because of the job I had that the majority and I mean the vast majority of the votes come from the south Southwest like Texas. On a Monday night when I was speaking with people everybody was home watching and voting and I mean father mother grandfather Etc. I am amazed some of his people made it Blake because that's who they want to vote for his team irregardless of their talent. They also want to give him a win because he's leaving next year. And he has one eight times. This is a great show to do he gets paid about $20 million a season. There used to be two seasons now there's one so I hope the 20 million will last a little bit. LOL

PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE VOTED. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT PARIJTA AND JUSTIN are no longer there. Don't rip Blake, he is the only judge that helps these contestant's after the show. I think the big productions took away from sone of these singers last night and some of them sounded Karoke and like cruise ship singers. Thr top ten got millions of exposure, if they are good, they will land contracts. This show has never been about the singers but always about the judges. People don't realize country voters come out and vote.

I only know of Carly Pearce and Blake Shelton I don't know the Third but what they are is country singers and that is who votes in the country by far more than any other group. The reason I have knowledge is I worked with that for a while and I can tell you that the South votes 10 times more often than the northeast or the Midwest

A couple choices for the bottom 4 were shocking beyond belief. Kim was my pick to win the whole competition. Justin should've been in the finale. I will watch the finale but at this point, I have no clue who will win.
I think it will be Morgan... But then again, Bodie has quite a following.. But I think they will still to country and Morgan is amazing.. Can't help the demographics. Why others don't tune in and vote is beyond me. I voted for Kim and Justin every time.

I believe that the the finale will be between Morgan miles and Omar Cardona. Just speaking on who votes in the country and where they're from Morgan has a much higher chance of winning the whole thing. Omar is from Florida and that really is the South but Orlando is not thought of in those terms. People in the South and Southwest like Texas vote disproportionately by a New York City mile for country music. That is why Blake's team has won so much even if his team is not far superior to the other Talent. For the finale it is the weakest in many years for me as the strongest voices were sent home. Because they did not represent the South or Southwest. What is your opinion? Because of the way it works I've decided next year not to watch it. And if you think about it not one person has emerged with a successful consistent career since winning. In fact you don't even hear about some of them at all. A girl named Tom nothing? Wendy Moten I made some news because she performed with Blake in Vegas. She had a phenomenal voice and it wasn't just that screaming belting Diva voice but she is 55 so it is likely that A&R record labels will never sign her because of it.
@@gloryakiepper7918 I would be fine with Morgan winning the whole thing. Personally, I am not a fan of Omar at all. It's the song choices as to why. One of Blake's will offer stiff competition though. I live in Michigan and Brayden lives within 20 miles of me. Do I think he's the strongest singer? No. But, being 16, his potential is through the roof. Will he win? No. He's had my votes the whole season among others.
I do understand the South votes for Blake's group and that's fine. I would be fine with Bodie or Bryce giving Morgan competition for the win.
I am in complete agreement that the finale is gonna be the weakest in years. There is no one breakout star left among the 5. There is potential there for stars to emerge.
I agree that Girl Named Tom has done nothing since winning. Wendy had a career before the Voice. Jordan Smith has probably had the biggest career since appearing.
My whole point for the post was the shock that the two strongest voices (in my opinion) got eliminated last night. I wish it wasn't a popularity contest but unfortunately, it is. Having said that, I will watch the upcoming season.
@@Goliath691975 I forgot about Jordan Smith. I guess he is fairly popular but I don't believe on a national level. I agree with you and it the best singer is a very subjective thing. I just don't think that it is a good way to run a show called The Voice if the program and the producers don't make it about the voice. This is a money making machine for NBC and they want to tap into it they don't have very many successful shows. I really don't want Netflix TV because all I hear is SVU crime shows and rehashing old ideas. I would say the voice was the only one I watched consistently that is considered a Network show. They spend about a million dollars each week putting it together and between the four judges there's probably 65 to 75 million dollars in salaries per per season. There used to be two seasons and now there's one. Feels like a very short season so I have difficulty comprehending that each judge earns a minimum minimum of 1.5 million for each show. Call me crazy. That is crazy. One of the one things I don't understand is the voice producers extend invitations to the various people to audition in the blinds. So they go around the country I'm told and visit tick tock daily to see who is a voice a star that should try out for the show because they're not really known. I have nothing against Brayden but when you match him up to Aaron voice it is a orange and apple thing no contest. The Voting is tilted unbelievably towards the South and country singers because that is their main audience. I don't like knowing too much about shows like that because I find it really isn't a competition nobody verifies the votes and nobody becomes well known even if they win. They only get a believe 100,000 which is fabulous but not a lot compared to America's Got Talent and they get a million dollars. @@gloryakiepper7918 It is a money making machine for NBC I agree. The ratings haven't been stellar the last few years and I think part of the reason is (like you said) it's not about the voice...It's a popularity contest. It's not a good way to run the Voice.
Luckily, there will be a 2nd season this year. I will be working during the season but I will be able to watch it on demand on days off. I knew going into this year that Blake is going to win either this time around or in the 2nd season in the spring.
The salaries for the judges is about right. I don't have an issue with them making 20-30million per season. Plus, it's not like this is the only thing they do per year.
The winner gets $100,000 and I do agree with you it should be up near a million like the AGT winner.
I would love to see a breakdown of the voting by region. I think you are right with the South and Southwest sending in the most votes.
I'll watch the next season (Blake's last and Kelly coming back). After that, I'm unsure. In the fall, I can find other shows to watch.

@@userunknown1578 I will say that this is no longer based on your voice it is based on where you come from in the country and what kind of music you sing. I had the opportunity to have knowledge of the way people voted throughout the country. By far by far by far the South and Southwest flight Texas vote 10 times more often than the Northeast and the Midwest. Country music has dominated because that's the dominant music there. So pop rap is on the plate but it isn't on the main course. It is a shame and the South wants Blake to win because he's going next year. He has won the most often not because his talent is far superior to the other teams but it's from the south. Check American Idol check the voice and I will make more sense after you see who the winners were. Monday night and Tuesday you could catch anybody at home because they were glued to that show and I can tell you this from my experience. It's a shame though

The show is named the Voice yet those with the most gifted voices are being sent home because more people like country music and Blake regardless of who the best talent is. It has become a popularity contest and there is never a question who will go through. A contestants Voice has nothing to do with it.

Last year both top two finalists on idol were country singers. I wish different genres would win but it is a platform to be seen. Adam Lambert and Jennifer Hudson didn't need to win to be successful. I watch for fun. I like Brayden. He has an it/xfactor star quality. Charisma and good looks will sell records and concert tickets. The music business knows that. Loud voices don't necessarily mean they are better if pitch is on point for both. Everyone is different.

Omar was good, parijita was good too, but she wasn't good enough to win. Regardless, they will still succeed even if they didn't win. Popularity - who the audience decides to vote for.

@@MindOFAvery there's a big difference between singing better and the whole package. Kim absolutely could outsing anyone on this season cept for maybe Omar. But she never proved she could do anything outside of the big note songs. Bryce already has picked up a huge audience which will get even bigger after the show. Brayden has the tweens. Morgan hits notes with passion. Bodie is prob the most unique.
