Just seen this for the first time. Every credit to Rachel for the control here. I couldn't imagine getting down that course faster than her with a ten minute headstart! It was so technical and dangerous but she made it look so easy. But that's why she was world champion. Well done, Rachel, truly amazing.

That was REALLY fast and clear. Rachel Atherton has really stepped out of the shadows of her brothers lately, she is really good.

Perhaps this time, but they've had Chainsaws at DH events even before the tragedy of Stevie. It's just a culture thing I think, perhaps because chainsaws are the most used item to build DH tracks

Probably the same as in ski jump where if you don't pass the gate within 10 sec you're disqualified idk
Notice the rope in front the wheel, it starts the timer when the wheel detaches it.

Steve Smith? His nickname was chainsaw and he died a few weeks ago, but fans have been using chainsaws for far longer than that.
