Subs are worth more hitting CA BB and Carriers. Since they cost so much in this game risking them with destroyers around generally is not worth it on low value targets. Defending the invasion task force convoys is what they are for. Each invasion convoy has a damage limit and then they turn around to repair. If you can stop them you get to build up and they stop bombarding your ports. I could risk it but since the supply situation is so hard until you hit 200 ships sunk I have to turn in subs just to rearm them when I buy a new sub when I get the refund. ASW is much improved over base game or even tokyo express.

That was the for the other comment. lol. Radar I believe can only be used on the surface if I am not mistaken. Also not even sure they have radar.
