I have the same chipper/shredder. I bought it new back in 1996ish. It has been used and abused since then. All I have done to it is the regular maintenance and a new pull cord. Over the past few years, it has been VERY hard to start. Once I get it running, it runs well. I think it is time to clean it up. This video was very informative. So if I decide to clean it up on my own, I know what to expect and where things go.

You did an excellent job on this video - Congrats! I'm working on mine, looks to be the same machine. I bought it back 1997/98, not sure when you got yours. Mine is getting a carb swap, gas tank sealing for rust and flail blade oiling. Hoping it'll be done and running in the next month. Good job for what time you spent in actually rebuilding it and got it in a 25 min video! I'm sure the actual time spent was way more than 25 minutes.

Background music totally unnecessary and very obnoxious. Great closeups. A for effort, B- for execution.

The problem here is he has the Breaks & Scrap Em motor on that thing... My girl friends son brought one home here any he tried he tried really hard that he did but I told him about the Governors on em seize up on occasion after the carbs get corroded really bad. He didn't listen to my advice. We had a temporary fireball in the back work spaces that singed the picnic table really good. Come spring he is gonna fix that boo boo...

I have the original motor on mine and have had it apart many times to fix things here and there and kept it clean. Now it’s BLEEDING oil from the seal around the main shaft right by the pull rope area. Can’t find parts for it anymore.
Is there some kind of replacement motor I can use for this chipper? I love this thing cause it eats anything I throw at it.

I’m not sure but to me it looked as if it would have been easier to install the gas tank, then the carb. What do you feel after having done it your way. Thanks

Hi, any chance you’d have the part number on this engine or some of the parts ? My part plate is not there and I need either a new carb or at least a diaphragm, can’t locate anything...
