*This fan is everything I wanted in a desk fan and more. It looks great for **Fastly.Cool** my room , it puts out a wonderful amount of air. Is very easy to use.I just keep it plugged in.*
That would be perfect for throwing paper planes through.
Ours first turn on was displaying 70. It is supposed to calibrate to 1 degree above room temperature when you first turn it on. Why yours was set at 81 I have no idea straight out of the box. Wonder if you got an error code, ours did.

Got ours today, from HSN, first order they sent us the COOLING one not the AM05 Heat+Cool. Plugged it in, 3 minutes, E7 error code on the screen. Second time, after leaving it unplugged a few minutes to "reset" itself, same thing. Dyson said tell HSN to send us another one if I want but will probably credit our money back. The plastic is cheap, the price is ridiculous. It's OK for a small room, but not for a larger area.
I was just about to order one off of QVC.. Bad idea you say? The way you put it sounds like a waste of money. I need it to cool me down in the summer...
It does not cool like an AC. Costco just put these out on the floor and HSN told us they did not get the letter until last week. Ours had a E7 code, which is an Engineering Code for them to repair. Not to mention earlier this year the AM04 models were recalled after the CSPC and a few models which melted and or caught fire. Woot has them on sale refurbished at $149 but some of those same serial numbers one customer said was also uinder the recall. I have no idea how you would know if a refurbished product was taken care of or not.
Our unit did not have the L shaped stickers on the front that yours did, makes me wonder if we got a unit that was returned already once before.
I see these on Ebay right now for $154.00. Is it worth it? That is a damn fine looking fan.
Dyson has a RECALL on certain serial numbers of these fans. Due to customers having FIRE issues. They say "although it was only a small amount of fires, we think it was appropriate to issue a recall", this was after the CPSC complained. Ours was not shown as a recalled model yet it had a E7 error code first use and even after unplugging it for a few minutes and using it again, E7 error code, AGAIN. Price is ridiculous, it gets NOISY when you increase the fan speeds. Consumer Reports gave Holmes $40 USD model the best small fan and another Holmes I believe large CUBE model for $189 as the best for larger rooms.

1500 watts isn't efficient pal. thats 300 dollars of your hard earned money for a piece of plastic.

Technically it is 100% efficient if you want it to heat the room. But I agree with you.

Does it produce cold air?
It's not an air conditioner. It simply moves the air around that's in the room. It keeps it the same temperature.
It doesn't cool air, but it can heat it though.
That device has blades they are just in the bottom.
