Drones are such a game-changing tool for search & rescue/recovery operations. Kudos to the drone operators. Condolences to the families and friends for the heartbreaking news.
unleash the robot dog armies!
And yet the FAA's remote ID is ruining that by requiring a network connection to fly. So SAR is affected, and they're making it so even practice on your own property will prohibited. It's all because they want a commercial "drone super highway" from 0-400ft.

@Anal Astronaut Gooood Boy SPOT!
Yep I have been practicing flying for this exact reason
If multiple vehicles have gone over the edge there, at what point does the state come in and put road barriers and signs and other safety measures in?
That usually is state by state-
Illinois needs so many deaths at a intersection before the state approves money for a red light at an intersection-
I’m sure this may be the same situation and if so possibly worth reading about -
The report stated “other vehicles have gone off the highway” in the past.
The DOT has mathematical formulas that dictate when such barriers are put in place. As to signage, I’m sure there’s plenty.
We should not expect Big Daddy Gov to protect us at all times!
When someone sues them and they have to pay out money, usually.
Shouldnt have to im 20 and i drive 50 miles into the mtns everyday from the city yet ive never even been close to coming off the edge due to me knowing my limits when driving i even go on night togue drives where i speed but i only speed on roads i know arent busy and roads i know by heart dont drive in the mtns if you cant even drive in the city
I lived next to a death trap curve on the end of a bridge. My now late mother always told me “enough people have to die before the county will fix it”. That seems crazy to me. She’s gone now, and the county did fix it, 20 years later. Wish she had lived to see it, but she knew. Those tidbits of truth your mom tells you as a child, they are the real truths.

Why doesn't this road have guard rails the state needs to be responsible and give these families money for not providing safety.

@@TheGeenat they said that multiple accidents and cars have gone over before. If you KNOW a place is prone to accidents you should try doing something to prevent it. Obviously if they were drunk or something and this was just a freak accident then off course it’s not the governments fault. But the fact that they knew it was prone to things like this happening ESPECIALLY with a steep cliff/hill beside the road something should have been placed to prevent cars from going over.

Looks like these kids shouldn’t have drove over the side if there’s no rail lol
They don't have them on mountain passes in Colorado because they interfere with snow removal. Idk anything about where these teens where at. Does it get snow?
The video itself says that there have been other cars that have gone off the road in that area. While it may not prevent all accidents, surely a guard rail would decrease the likelihood of vehicles going over the edge.
Not in California, that would mean spending money on something useful, when they would rather spend money on crt and wokeism and hotels for the homeless
Being from another state, I was outraged the first time I accidentally found myself on this road.
Something wrong with even allowing such a dangerous stretch of road to exist.
Driving has its inherent dangers already, but this is a nightmarish place to drive.

This is extremely sad and heartbreaking. Praying for both families. May their souls rest in peace.
What I don't understand is that if there's gonna be roads made in areas like this, why on earth are there not enough precautions put in place to prevent horrific accidents like this from occurring? Just looking at where the car fell from is terrifying. I would never want to drive on that road.
What??
@@shotforshot5983 what did you not understand?
unfortunately a lot of roads up in forests are like that... we just went to Kings Canyon and Inyo national forest... just like that... there was a path like that with no 2 ways roads.. very narrow too and buses passed by there... kinda scary.
Any road can be dangerous. It’s your responsibility to drive safely and know the area. Accountability lies with the driver. This was a tragic loss and we can never know the circumstances.
clearly the world is a bigger place than you've experienced, Jonan. News-flash - not every location and experience is cotton-padded for your maximum personal safety. The demand for the (imaginary) mommy-society to swathe every linear foot of the universe in perfect safety is unreasonable and really, your own statement "I would never want to drive that road" is the actual answer - people need to take responsibility for their own lives and choices to some extent, and yeah, caution and restraint are part of that.
The question is, why aren't there guard rails along the side of the highway?
Landslides- most likely washed awa
@Bob Grey or hear me out, when driving along a mountain road with cliffs on the side, you drive the appropriate speed so you don't go flying off the edge?

I literally just passed by there and told my daughters that there’s always people being found dead at Angeles forest ! They need to start warning signs etc !
They need some railings
Definitely rails
Speed limit signs ARE the warning signs. If you follow those limits, this kind of thing won't happen. That, and paying attention to the road at all times, as per the driver's education handbook.
Signs are powerful. They need reminders to stay off your phone. Keep eyes on road.
Bunch of tide pod eating fools.
U gotta drive slow goin up those roads people. I know going slow sucks but there are reasons for it. Pay attention, check your speeds. Probably no more than 25-35mph on roads with high altitude wide or sharp turns. I'm lookin at u young people
