I want to mention something that came to my attention in some comments people where taking. When making this video I was more or less unaware of the bullies previous appearances that the artist mullberry made on her deviantart. One of the girls is actually half-black. When I was making these videos I was mainly referring to the website when it came to the characters appearances which never showed these previous designs and which ones belonged to who. When designing these characters I barely even used the ingame designs and just wanted to create a more original designs. At the time I only believed that the characters had tans rather than that relating to their actual appearance. I was referring to different parts of garyu fashion when it came to helping redesign these characters, including some that don’t feature tans. Doing this I unintentionally lighted up a characters skin with about being aware of their actual race. I apologize if this offended anyone as it wasn’t my intention. I know representation in media is very important to many different people. I promise in the future I’ll try to do more thorough research to prevent something like this from happening.
The age system in the game annoys me because alex always banged on about trying to make akademi resemble a real life japanese highschool but he has oh so conveniently missed out how the grade systems in japan work.
First year senior high school students are 15-16 y/o
second year 16-17 y/o
3rd year 17-18 y/o (depends on when in the year you're born)
So this would mean a good majority of students at akademi are NOT 18 at all no matter how much Alex wants to say they are. This is why imo he should've set yansim in university instead of a highschool not only would it have given him more opportunities for him to explore darker mature themes and implement certain things in the game since he's actually using adults removing the morally questionable aspects he would have faced by using minors but honestly it would've been a unique concept since it would've set yansim apart even further from other games.

Also when it comes to the teacher rival, it doesn’t matter, a teacher inherently has power over a student.
The age of consent in Japan isn’t thirteen. Every prefecture has the ability to choose the age of consent. The lowest they can put it is thirteen so that’s what made the mistake of people thinking the age of consent was thirteen throughout ALL of Japan. In fact, many prefectures’ ages of consent are ABOVE eighteen. The only place in all of Japan that the age of consent IS thirteen is on an island off the coast of Japan and the only reason that’s the case is because there’s no government to choose that age so they make it the default: thirteen. Sorry about this rant, I just get really annoyed when people say the age of consent in Japan is thirteen.

Actually 13 is the lowest prefectures in japan can set their age of consent to, however most of them set it to 18 with very few actually setting as low as 13 so yeah even by japan's standards most of yansims characters are not of legal age to consent. Also I'm not sure but if iirc I think japan a few years ago decided to lower the age of being an legal adult from 20 to 18 taking affect next year.

Do you intend to make the delinquents in the future? They are also very similar, I know it's for history reasons, but it's kind of weird 😅 They have the same voice, the same personality and the same actions, but they were not like that in the past and it is interesting to think about what they were like before, Umeji for example, the artist who made the drawings made an illustration of him saying that an idea of why Umeji suffered bullying is because he was a bit overweight and very fond of sweets, his weight and stature changed as he grew up, but that is still part of his past. What kinds of things did the others delinquents like to do and what were they like before?
Honestly yandere Sim should take place in university not in high school. Also Alex was homeschooled so of course he doesn't know how real school is like.
If I'm honest, the only reason I finished the Yandere Simulator demo is because it has a checklist. After I started on the checklist, I could not stop...
But to be honest Yandere Simulator, no matter how much it has evolved, or grown. Is still pretty much not that good. There's not much to do, and that's why I resorted to the checklist because that was the only thing to complete. I mean, some games aren't even complete but still have plenty of stuff to do even if you finished what's left in the game. I mean, other than the checklist, I mean sure you could just do random stuff, play with pose mod, make oc's and stuff but after a while it gets boring. My problem is that, Alex could just literally put the rivals in and not give them designated use. So they're just like normal students or something? But yandere simulator is super un-natural, and so scripted in the fact that every person in one club looks alike, and acts alike. The use of stereotypes is IMMENSE. It's like nobody in the school has a personality unless it's Osana, or a few other characters. EVEN THE MAIN LEADING INTEREST IS BORING. Taro literally looks like he could be Ayano's twin brother or something. There's no character, personality or anything that has a realistic vibe. Some games I actually cry, or feel emotion because of the characters or events. But this game? I just run around killing random people for fun. The characters don't have a personality that you can attach to. That can make you feel guilty, or make you feel sad. It's just like as if they're just little mannequins there to fill up space. Yandere Simulator can be so much more deep, and have more personality. I mean I wouldn't even feel guilty killing Osana or something, other than Raibaru because she has an actual reaction to Osana's death that makes me feel a little guilty but it's like, whatever man. Seriously this game has immense potential but is instead half a quarter of what it could be. (For context half a quarter is basically 0.5/4)

Personally my idea for ayano redesign is shoulder length hair with a side ponytail and blue eyes where was a colored news for innocent character so that contrast with her being Innocent but dangerous

AND more defining features. Honestly, all of the characters have the same base, just different hairs eyes, the bullies are the only ones that are slightly different and unique. Other than the student council, the bullies are pretty much the only unique characters that can have a big impact in the storyline. The bullies are the only ones with personality. They skip cleaning time, and they have different activities, AND patrol halls, AND take pictures and contact police. They're complex and brilliant, but of pretty bad people.
Though the designs are all pretty, I think you should have exagerated the bullies' designs a little bit more since they're based in the japanese urban tribe Ganguro.
But again, your designs were really nice!

It certainly doesn't help that the models used for characters can be literally bought by anyone making it ridiculously easy to recreate them yourself.

@@helicopter9806 if Alex was had the nuance to pull this off maybe just maybe he could go somewhere with the nurse and teacher rivals. He could call attention to the predatory nature of teacher student relationships through both rivals perhaps showing the power imbalance and the detrimental impact these relationships can have on the victims. But I'm sure Alex is gonna take it in the other direction

1st design: Looks close enough to the original that it looks like a nice touch-up.
2nd design: The difference is like night and day, but that’s not a bad thing. If anything, it’s good that they don’t look like the same person with slightly different clothes & hairstyles. In fact, it’s very good!
3rd design: Good call on giving her bubblegum to blow to show off that care-less attitude that’s attempted to be displayed from these characters.
4th design: Good use of the lipstick to show off the tan better.
5th design: Liking the toothpick she’s rocking! It’s not as subtle as the bubblegum, but it still shows off a dominating attitude.

im gyaru and i noticed u got a lot of things wrong in this video relating the subculture!
first of all, gyaru was NOT inspired by baywatch, at all.
gyaru started as a reformative movement in japan to protest the standard of the perfect schoolgirl. adults wanted young students to be modest, conservative, simple, and wear little to no makeup or accessories as well as keep their natural dark hair and pale skin.
not everything is about western culture.
gals were and still are protesting AGAINST JAPANESE BEAUTY STANDARDS, *NOT* CONFORMING TO WESTERN ONES.
lots of young women were against this and showed their self expression by tanning, dressing more provocatively, and accessorizing. most people/adults at the time viewed them as delinquents (hence there being no female delinquents in present day yansim)
this is also why many of the girls have crushes on the male delinquents, while the male delinquents hate them and view them as posers.
there was many MANY other mistakes, but i'd like to keep this as curt and respectful as i can.

A lot of this information I got from the original Wikipedia. Its a fashion demographic and has many sources from where it comes from. Yes some of it was about not confirming to beauty standards of Asia but also inspiration from western trends. I may have been mistaken about that baywatch part because I believe that there is a certain subculture of gyaru’s insipired by that specifically. Female delinquents were also present in yandere sim? This was another movement occurring prior also routed into rejecting social norms it wasn’t just Gyaru’s.
Also I have a horrible speech impediment making it awkward to pronounce words let alone something from a different language.

I like the first one the best, since to me it looks the most like the og version of it, but not too similar to the point where you'd think it's copying! And the fact they all have different color hair, is so much better! And they look more like bullies too! The original designs of the bullies, looked way to friendly!

When I was doing this I didn’t base it off of the actual designs in the game rather different types of gyaru fashions. It was a major oversight at the time and I never meant to do it intentionally. If you go on my community tab I actually redrew her properly.
In Japan, the age of consent is no longer 13, it was 13 for a while!!!! Which I won’t lie very questionable, however, they bumped it up to 16, with that being said though, having sex with minor is illegal and there are consequences for it! Not to mention the paedophilia as well!!!!
What I personally think would’ve been a smart idea is to have yes, these two characters in however, Senpai is disgusted, and feels extremely uncomfortable of them, finding it disgusting that his teacher and nurse are attracted to him, that way the way to eliminate them is by catching them in the act and getting them sent to jail, which would be a much better message, but with that being said this game doesn’t really have any good messages now does it!? Maybe you could take a picture with the teacher being inappropriate with Senpai or write secret letters to him to get him to confess to the police. I would personally really enjoy this because not only is it stopping a criminal it’s s stopping a predator.
