  • #2 of a new ranked season, a push for a Gold rank! A fun game, with a lot of resistence. Hope you enjoy this 1v1 of the RTS game Planetary Annihilation: Titans! And, you know, subscribe if you want to :) This game was with the new unit balance update and season reset!

Planetary Annihilation: Titans is a great Real Time Strategy (RTS) game, noted as a spritual successor to Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance. A massive intergallictic war of robots! I am aiming for gold or better rank in 20 games, but I am aware that I need to put in a lot of work to get there! This ranked series is an attempt at levelling me up, rather than actually getting a great ranking so any tips welcomed!
Ranked Games are fast, but also very fun and challenging. Pick up a copy of PA yourself and have fun!

Excellent vid, thanks for posting. For the boombot spam, you can usually defend with dox as they shred boombots and trade positively. I think factory disparity was a big killer this game since you didn't have enough units on the map to defend all your metal or harass theirs.

Thanks mate, appreciated. Thank's for the strat here. I will get more bots coming out next time!

You weee building metal extractors and enegey when you were floating both. Use that as a signal to build more fabs or production.

Yea. I've started to notice this more now. It tends to happen when I'm distracted by the opposition and fail to look at everything happening!

You need metal storage early on, you wasted loads 👍

Definately did, store it, or use it! So many things to think about under pressure :)

locusts are definitively not rubbish ... your opponent just didn't use them well except in 30:15 ..
have them dropped in a power or production line and ... that line is gone

I'm totally with you, locusts can be great if managed correctly, but they are very weak units and this player was sending them in blind :)

You lost this one because you stopped expanding after grabbing the metal in your base. It seems like you just never queued up a second group of fabricators until you needed T2? Maybe I'm not paying enough attention to the run, but I see you build your first 3 fabs, then nothing until you panic about T2. I'd say this is a classic case of getting so caught up reacting to your opponent that you forget to expand your own economy.
Back when I played (I made an earnest attempt at Gold a couple summers ago, only made it into Silver before classes started back) I would include two or three fabs in the build order for one factory. Something like "make 30 dox, then 3 fabs". I usually had too many fabs by late game, but it kept me on pace in the early and mid game. Whenever I wanted to select some idle fabs, there were usually a few in the base ready.

Hey, thanks for the tips and for watching! Yea I failed in doing so with this game. I normally do 3-4 fab opening, but the first 2-3 would be 'one offs (using ctrl)' and I'd leave one in the queue. I think I failed to do that this game, and then got flustered when I kept being hit. It's a lot to think about when you are running around defending!

Heh I do have it but only tend to use it with the very first lot of commander building. Not in the habit of using it all the time as yet!

Haha I really do. Sometimes I'm better at using it, today's vid I think I'm a bit better!
Edit: heh actually, I'm not better at all in the next game. I will try to remember!
