I'm revisiting this after 11 years. What a BEAUTIFULLY filmed video. Thank you so much for recording & sharing. Symphonica was cancelled here due to his poor health & I had to sell my London tickets due to my own poor health, surgery etc. Big regrets that I couldn't see this. Such a fine cover, did not expect this. Chills. He managed to capture something from the original version of the song which wasn't prominent there enough. The mix of melancholy and anger is better than in the original version. The original Rufus version sounds very young, and it's lovely. It's rawer, the pain and desperation of it sound like the pain and desperation of a young man. But this? This sounds like a more experienced man, experiencing these things in his own way.

I've actually seen this show and it was just amazing. One thing I noticed was how deep his speaking voice was, but as soon as he sang "A Different Corner" or "Cowboys And Angels" he still had that angelic, bell-clear vocal sound that we all know.
I've always marveled that while his speaking voice did in fact deepen (let's face it he smoked A LOT- by his own admission), yet, his singing voice was unaffected entirely!
