What a relief that these babies only had to jump 10 feet down. Artic geese chicks had to jump 400 feet down cliffs and half of them don't make it.

Rarely. They are very light so the impact is not that big. They also fall down on a grass. Some ducks make their nests on big cliffs making the jump much more dangerous. Check this video v=rxGuNJ-nEYg
