The Black Album has been an essential ever since it came out, when I was in 8th grade. The first time I heard it I was speechless! ❤
I was born in 81 I wanna say I was in 7th. I felt the same way.
My uncle/big brother gifted me that cd when I was in 6th grade. I, too, was speechless. 😵💫
I still lean “And Justice for All” but “Black” album is my #2. Then it’s “Master of Puppets” “Ride* the Lightning” then “Kill Em All”
I never could get into anything after Black Album.
The Black Album was my first metal album I bought as a kid on cassette back in 92 when I was 11 (I know it came out in Aug 91). It'll always hold a special place for me. Been a Thrash and Death Metal fan ever since.I dig all genres of Metal but Thrash and Death Metal are my top 2 favorites. Gorefest - False is my favorite Death Metal album of all time and the album cover is my av. I also highly recommend Gorefest performance at Dynamo in 1993. The live album The Eindhoven Insanity is the greatest Death Metal live album of all time imo. Tremendous.🤘
@@MichaelMeherg-pq7mh Born the same year as you 1981. I was in grade 7 in 93/94. Though I was in Canada. Not sure the grades are the same elsewhere. Just trying to help give a reference point.
I've listened to this song a million times - I've played it a millions times (guitarist here)... I never broke it down. A lot of people can knock Metallica - but they are always meticulous songwriters.
yeah too bad the solo sucks man
Also played it million times, both drums and bass
The song “Sad But True” by Metallica deals with themes of addiction and betrayal. It’s about the struggle with one’s inner demons and how those struggles can control one’s life, much like an addiction. The lyrics suggest a presence that is always there, no matter what, which could be interpreted as the addiction itself. James Hetfield, Metallica’s lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, has been open about his own struggles with addiction, which adds a personal dimension to the song. The most recent estimates suggest that Metallica’s “Black Album” which this song is from has sold more than 48.5 million copies worldwide as of March 2023.
Whoever does Metallica's recordings is top notch you can hear everything on the highest level no distortion I find that amazing.
Again...my Mom (RIP) would say...SHUT UP DRUM SOLO!!! 🤣 as she cranks it
Tbf it was recorded analogue, so broadly speaking what was played is what was recorded. There's also not that much instrument distortion by modern standards, and the quality of speakers back then were comparatively bad so if it would play on something from the 80s it should play well on something modern. This is one of the few albums where Lars sounded good too :P
They will always be the GOATS to me, no matter what anyone else says
The Black Album was the first CD I ever owned. Christmas present from my dad. Exposed me something other than country and I'm forever grateful.
Flaws Fade To Black is the deepest song to me and the hardest riff love Metallica since they came out R.I.P Cliff😢😢😢
These men rock!🤘
Anyone else raised on Metallica? Shit these guys had a huge impact on my life. Never had a father so many life lessons and hard times... Metallica raised me. Made connections in my brain with certain things.
Especially the song "my friend of misery" and that era of metallica.
And yes i had a addiction problem too. lol
Kinda funny... Grew up on Eminem and Metallica. No leaf clover is another amazing track. Metallica doesnt actually get enough credit for their lyrics. They are really great writers in everyway.
My First Ever Concert was THIS ACTUAL TOUR...HAWAII 1992...Iwas in 5th Grade
You've probably heard this sample used by Kid Rock in the song "American badass" that The Undertaker also used as his walk in song when he had his "American Badass" face of his career!
Kid Rock samples/covers this song in "American Badass" WWE Undertaker's theme in his biker persona
Heaviest Riff of all time in the opinions of MANY
It's More of a mental health song then drugs. It's in your Head. It's the person in your head. You blame others for your life but it's nobody's fault but your own. If you don't like your life it's nobody's fault but yours. " I'm inside open your eyes, I'm you.
Amazing ❤
Black Album was my intro to metal and the first metal album i bought as an 11 year old kid in 1992. Check out Gorefest - The Glorious Dead. Incredible song. It's from the Gorefest album False also from 1992. The album cover is my av. My favorite Death Metal album of all time. Can't recommend it or praise it enough.🤘
Yes! One of my favorites!🤟🔥
Love you guys 🙏🏼
Misheard lyrics (that work especially in the social media age)
🎶 SAID THE TROLLLLLLLLL 🎶
I recall lifting weights in the basement to the cassette tape of the l Black Album including this Song O-L-D
The Kings 🤘
Don't Tread on Me is another good one.... Volbeat also did an excellent cover of it.
Ah, the album that started the Metallica hate. I always liked it and never understood why people flipped out, it’s not that far off from the earlier 3, they just had more money for production from being successful 😂
The notable reaction to a sad truth is the beginning of the recovery.
9:48 🤣🤣🤣now I feel oooooooooooooold AF.
I like what's behind yall BTW💪
Let’s go!!!
Love Metallica ❤❤
I think it's about our awful instincts, our deepest and darkest thoughts and actions.
The worst part of us, we've all had some evil thought at some point or other, anyway that's what I thought it was about.
Also, I know they are talking about addiction, but this song has gotten me through one of the most toxic relationships I had ever been in. To me the lyrics were just a reminder of what type of person he was.
GOAT
James Hetfield (vocals/ guitar) of Metallica struggled w/ alcoholism since the early days of the band... Other members of Metallica had also struggled w/ drug and alcohol addictions, so 'Sad but true' was a song that the band could relate to personally... James' addiction would cause him to get into fights... cause problems in his marriage... and within Metallica itself.
If u watch drunk drivers busted by police, they never accept responsibility for their actions... They have to drink, no matter what the cost to others around them. And they've done nothing wrong in their minds because it wasn't them; it was the booze... But it is them - just another aspect of their personality that emerges while intoxicated... That's what addiction is: a selfish disease of self-medicating to cope w/ everyday life... simply because of their inability to tolerate reality and the truth that is in their faces... They want the lie to be the truth and that is what alcohol and drugs do to people - they make them believe that they are better off intoxicated when they are clearly not well.
I now need to see you react on Nick Thurl's new song end up dead 😍
MoneyBagg Yo & Morgan Wallen Whiskey Whiskey Let's Go!!!
Metallica “disposable heroes”
Oh man could you guys do either fade to black from the 1.6 million people Moscow show or battery from the 1989 Seattle show please and thanks!
Great!. :)
I have never heard sad but true described quite like that before lol
We try to be original with our reactions.
Appreciate you noticing.
Try ¨¨Wherever i may roam¨ next time if you love this kind of vibe!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was just listening to them. In my Em skin🤭
Metallica is my shit 👌🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤟🏼🤟🏼
Jesus of Suburbia by Green Day
I think you guys will love some Avenged Sevenfold 🤘🔥
Hog bless you ❤
How about some Layne Staley
Can you guys please react to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness?! Their lead singer, Justin Hawkins, started a CZcams channel fairly recently and he digs the reactions and gives love to covers. (JustinHawkinsRidesAgain - channel name) 😉
Oh and fun fact, the drummer for The Darkness is the son of the drummer for Queen. It’s such a fun song and the video is… definitely interesting. 🤣
🤘👍👍🤘ed
Metallica was also just brought on to Fortnite lmao
#HOGZILLA
So you get 100k views and haven't returned to XG? Two recommended options: (1) if you want to stick to rap exclusively, watch 5 short XG Tape #4s (from rap line Harvey, Maya, Cocona & Jurin, and "Trampoline" group song), or (2) for more of a fusion sound, do very short Hesonoo & X-gene Performance Video (with drill beat) and then Offical MV for GIRL GVNG (short), followed by (dance) performance video of GIRL GVNG which is amazing chair choreo and includes missing rap verses from MV.
You must have missed the comment where I said we will be reacting to another XG video this week.
I do more than just reactions. Gotta give things time.
@@FlawdTV I did. Thanks in advance. I like you you both very much.
Get your lighters out 🤟😎🤘 One mean 🎸 riff
React to megadeth holy wars
It's the drug talking to him
So many better songs. This is too Comercial but still a popular favorite. Right around this time they lost most of their fans lost that edge they had
😅
I mean with the narcissist comment you’re not exactly wrong, because drug addiction is like a narcissist. It’s all about feeding the drug addiction much like it’s all about feeding the narcissists ego
It’s actually about religion.
Definitely about drug addiction not a cat😂😂😂😂
This song is all about drugs your right.
Everything after injustice for all was is CRAP
🔥🔥
Back when they had hair and fucking ROCKED..........
