I think that one of the major reasons we don't see the Philip Morris Cigarettes opening is because of how PC things are today wouldn't want to see PM promoting cigs on a youth oriented show. Such nonsense because the show was actually aimed at adults when new anyhow. I'd love to see the open close with the original sponsors shown on the screen. You know CBS has them in their vaults too. They just refuse to release them
This is a RECREATION. The theme NEVER aired in this form. As a matter of fact, the original theme hasn't been heard since the 1970s. It also included on screen introductions of the entire cast.

My Three Sons and Family Affair had a very similar premise (same creators) but the latter always had a cloud of sadness. Probably because the characters of Family Affair never really fully adjusted to their new reality during the series run.
Envision this; The year is 1975, as kid watching these re-runs seeing this intro, and not quite understanding the correlation of photographing a cigarette ash tray with a kaleidoscope effect to it. Why a cigarette ash tray? Because grandmother had this ultra fancy lead crystal/glass ash tray that looked like it was encrusted with sparkly large gemstones.
The twist of the show, everyone was all dead and Mr. French was their devil Butler that catered to their needs. "Whatever gave you the idea you were in Heaven?" "This is the other place!"
I watched this show....the opening reminded me of Walt Disney Wonderful World of Color which by far, was my Favorite!

I grew up seeing this show (even them a little nauseous); Anissa Jones' drug overdose was a huge shock to everyone in 1976.
