Thanks for putting this up. I picked up a Tecsun PL-680 recently and have been looking to improve its shortwave reception. The Youloop was recommended to me so your video has been extremely helpful.

The waterfall and spectrum are not running smoothly suggesting that your sample rate is way too high for your computer to handle. Am I correct or is this a problem with your video capture software???
Probably a combination of both. My 'radio' computer is fairly old. Cheers

I've been playing around with the airspy youloop and rtl sdr but I also have a nooelec LANA LNA attached to the balun. It appears to make a big difference in the number of frequencies received indoors. I'm also able to get good VHF reception even without folding into dipole. I don't know if there will be a big difference if I test outdoors.

Excellent!...Do you know if these Youloops will also work with a standard desktop HF receiver (Such as an Yaesu 7700 or 8800) or do they only work with SDR recievers...?
I'm not sure. I haven't tried that. I suspect the answer is going to be yes but how well it works will be the issue. If nothing else, it's a wire in the air. The recommended use with a high dynamic range SDR likely has to do with overall sensitivity. As I describe in the video, it works with my RTL/SDR which is not an HDR device.
