I’m old enough to remember when markets were where you would go to to get a bargain & food was good value for money … ah the good old days sigh … £15 for a fancy burger 🍔 that’s £60 for a family of four .. what the heck?!

The problem today is that everyone wants to sell their own food or drink at extortionate prices, instead of aiming for a 25% profit margin, they're trying to get 200% profit ! Pure greed, so i never buy from street vendors anymore, i search for bargains online.
I honestly dont think thats the case.. remember vendors have to account not just for ingredients but other overheads like how much the council charge for the stall to pitch there, labour costs etc.
Rice and peas is actually red kidney beans and nothing to do with peas.

£10 for a mock, fake paella 😵💫🤮🤕. You have to use good ingredients - extra virgin olive oil, saffron, Spanish paprika all cooked in a paella pan using good stock preferly fish with lots of seafood and alioli. Those guys in the market can't be bothered, they know people won't complain so they carry on peddling muck unfortunately 😭😭😭
