      The guy that says it can't be done didn't make himself clear.
      What he meant to say that HE can't recover data (probably because he doesn't understand electronics.)
      Special life lesson for anybody - What can't be done today might be possible tomorrow and what you can't do could possibly be done by someone else.
      Can anybody remember that everybody believed the earth is flat, Now only a few stubborn people (Apple) believe that while the rest knows the truth.

    • @Lollllllz
      @Lollllllz Před 5 lety +6

      @@MsUltrafox The way he worded it though is the problem as he was suggesting that he has 100% knowledge of the situation by presenting half truths when presenting ideas the oppose what he claimed.

      He’s an arrogant POS, he’s been arguing with me that Apple wont do a paid repair on a device which has a third party display even after I replied with a Genius Bar work authorisation receipt and screenshots of a chat with apple support telling me that they do. They think they’re Apple employees on there and know more than the company’s actual representatives 😂

      @@JasperJanssen It clearly is as there are businesses dedicated to it. But even that is beside the point. People are told on the apple support site, that it's literally impossible, and anyone who says they can do it are scamming you. Clearly, demonstrably, false.

    • @DanniV8
      @DanniV8 Před 5 lety +3

      @@JasperJanssen It doesn't matter if it's economically feasible or not. What matters is they say that it cannot be done at all, not even by a third party. Apple can say that THEY can't, or won't do data recovery and that's completely fine. But they shouldn't say that because they're not gonna do it, it cannot be done at all. And then delete everyone who corrects them and says this is in fact possible.

    It's all about shorts and opens :). When I was in the Navy and attending Advanced First Term Avionics our practical tests usually wound up with almost the same type of sequence. Isolate the block by using resistance and voltage analysis. You zero in after that. Honestly though, what I learned in AFTA I took and am able to apply to just about any problem that needs to be solved. I'm a software engineer now and I feel my debugging tasks are better because of that experience. Watching you do the same analysis for board repair just validates that. I came from Louis Rossman's channel and I'm really enjoying the content.

    In my experience with micro controllers and various logic level ICs, Reset and Enable pins (usually labeled as RST and EN) are usually triggered by pulling the pin high or low. In this case I would have simply tried connecting pin 32 to ground and booting the phone to test. If that didn't work, I would have injected .5 or 1 Volt to the pin. Enable and Reset functions are never connected to a data line and since the APU is not on the line there is no chance to damage it. Let me know if you think this makes sense. Love your videos. Cheers!

    Just curios, in this part of Europe mac products are not that common... Too expensive for what they offer... Was there an option to hook up a mouse to get the pin in? I did that trick on android devices with the touch damaged. Just curious😁 oh, and great video.

    Can you help me? My iphone 6 is broken and I want to get all of my data back but I dont know how. The LCD has a grey and white strip that goes vertically down the center. And the iphone boots up and turns off after a little bit. This is repeated until i turn off the phone by holding the power button. Can you help? I would take it to a specialist but I really dont have that much money

    How about wire it through a switch and operate the digitiser reset line manually. Maybe that would make it start up.

    What about manually injecting the reset signal instead of trying to solder to the trace? It might come alive if you force the reset signal.
