I remember this with the young jetli. I love how they changed the story but still kept it original.

While that may be true, the cinematic technics applied in almost all highly budgeted wuxia pian, majority of which are mainland China made nowadays, have evolved from the once revolutionary technics started by Tsui Hark by leaps so that comparing the past Era with the present is like comparing Windows 2000 with Windows 10. The CGI effects alone and the robust and athletic acrobatics employed in the fights are in levels more sophisticated and artistically appealing than the Jet Li era wuxia pian. I would nonetheless acknowledge Tsui Hark for paving the way to this development. I'm sure many of the present breed of directors could be his "disciples".

I love the comments about the original. I'm not sure who else noticed but this is the same director. The part 2 of his original was not made and it looks like he's resetting the series. I hope part 2 gets made this time.

If it wasn't for the character names, I wouldn't have figured out this was the Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre story. At least that's what it was called when I watched it dubbed in my language. Seems a little different from the older variations of the story though.

This is not the original video u are showing, this movie real name is dragon sabre and the heavenly sword, I've watched it twice, and it's a great movie with the same story, i don't where did u find this video, but the original episode of this series are on CZcams itself, and overall the movie is good, wuji is indeed a sincere and righteous man, who later on becomes a king who unites all other clans even going against the government of their country

These newer wuxia films are crap. All CGI and no actual fighting. I've seen the original Kung Fu Cult Master with Jet Li and Sammo Hung. It had wire works but had some kick ass choreography and fighting.
