That very cool green jacket makes an appearance again. What a fun time to be alive
Does pale in comparison with Barry Lee's turtleneck and spangled driving suit LOL
Saw Barry Lee many a Sunday night at Wimbledon back in the day. Great days ☺
Incredibly well spoken guys!!!
138 ... that's my dad talking posh 💙😉😁
Dave Thompson!!
Hi Dad !
Seems like a jolly nice chap 😃
Barry what a legend. 😎
Love hot rods in the early 70s, spent many a saturday evening at Wimbledon.
We're all people from the 70s skinny and tall lol
Barry Lee such a legend
What decent bunch of chaps ...
That’s my mum’s boyfriend at the time in the red and white mk1 escort with the Union Jack on the back (504) TERRY SELBY
The video cameras and all their associated gear were so large in those days they couldn't get them in the cars.
I want to go Hot Rodding !
Barry Lee's shirt!
Barry is a cool dood :)
Newcastle Brough park me and my Dad used to go the racing every time it was on they used to call it stock car racing then in 1975
I remember watching ford anglias with 3.8 jag engines shoe horned into them race.
Nice
That tweed cap
Great video that. I would guess those mk2 escort were still production cars when the video was shot. Does anyone know which track this was????
Michael Matthews spedeworth Foxham Rd Ipswich.
@@PaulabJohnson No, that was Aldershot.
Definitely Aldershot.
The Mark 2 Escort had only been in production 12months when this was filmed.
Didn't see 1976 on there LOL....
Tony Bastable ?! Where is he
Sat in the car at 1:45 and going by the name of Dave Thompson by the look of it!
Tony would have ragged the hell out of a hot rod
Used go to the stock cars in New Brighton in the 70's. They didn't call them hot rods! Was that Tony Bastable moonlighting as a driver camouflaging his voice. Barry Lee .. I remember him, Belle Vue perhaps.
I AM AMAZED THAT THE DOORS AEN'T WELDED THOUGHT THAT THEY WOULD BE FOR SAFETY
they all need a haircut!
Where was it filmed Chernobyl
Brilliant Aldershot, my dad took me their in early 70's and was so special. Pleased to be alive then, not now though, but i was lucky and so many memories when life was so much better.
Bastaple wouldn't have put up with any of that bollocks
First 🤟🤟
But all those classic cars wasted 😳😳
The Officer they weren't classics then, just rusty worthless MOT failures on one last blast
Escort mk2 Could only be 2 years old at the Max in 1976
Graham Stanton yea,but still could be a rusty heap by then, all cars rusted quick in the 70s,not just the BL stuff
I used to to scrap cars in the 90,s weighed in loads of escorts, transits, cortinas, mk1 and 2 granadas, they were everywhere around then 2 a penny almost, who knew what silly money people pay now for crapped out old bodyshells!
The Mark 2 Escort would not have rusted away inside 14 months , it was probably built from an accident write off shell or possibly a new blank shell bought off Ford.
Everybody is so white......
yeah now look around you.
Shame how times change.
That's because everyone worked back then no time for sitting out in the sun unless you was on a weeks holiday at Blackpool
pfft this is not hot rodding, its banger racing, 130hp? 😆
it was 1977 . you must be some kind of idiot
