I had no idea he won Australian Idol. I discovered him watching The Voice. He’s so good!! Loved him singing Bryan Adams.
Fun fact, the guy that came 2nd Shannon had a bigger Hit after season One….. but Guy kept pushing and finally exploded a few years after his win….
I didn't know he was on there either. I found him a few years ago. I saw him performing with someone and I thought to myself, That guy is amazing, he should win. Little did I know he was a judge on X factor and then I started looking him up to see what he can do. It was love 😘 at first listen

It's wonderful to see such a talented man succeed, and yet choose the important things of life: the love of a good woman and his children. And he still remains a humble soul. One of the world's best voices! And I'm not even an Aussie. :^)

I already massive fan here since 2005 when he won AUSTRALIA IDOL. back then when i was elementary i was 13 years old. Guy Sebastian is very famous here in the Philippines. And my the most favorite song of him is "ANGELS BROUGHT ME HERE." On our radio for all the years. Until now.. such a legend. Love from Philippines ❤😢😮

If you were not born in 2003 or missed it this is your chance to follow Guy on his journey performing each week on Australian Idol no. 1. The final twelve lived together in the Idol house and performed to large crowds in shopping centres and at various outdoor venues including the MCG The exposure would match the current excitement of the present World Cup. Remember Guy was only just 22 when he became first idol.

Guy proved , he has star quality since the day one he went on stage.He usually sings a song full of lyrics , and it’s hardest thing to do . Means , he doesn’t need to catch a breath too much , or take a break by music between lyrics .He’s simply amazing 🧿💙

It's interesting how the contestants back then wore jeans and casual outfit like they were going to hang around with friends.
Back in those days the whole point of Idol and the like was “take a rando from complete obscurity and make them a star”, like a Cinderella story. Even the “bad” auditions were feasible at the time because a lot of them (not all) were well-meaning people who legitimately thought they could sing and take on the opportunity (rather than just be obnoxious on TV) - and often the judges would be more charitable to them because some of them might have been set up by people who didn’t have their best interests in mind. Now everyone has social media and the internet has made music distribution so easy that contestants are now extremely polished and have existing fanbases already, and the shows are more about the celebrity judges (who don’t want to be seen as being “mean” to the contestants) than the contestants themselves.
Personally I think it’s much more exciting to watch someone like Jess Mauboy sing outside out the front of a country pub with flies blowing all over the place and being able to watch an incredible talent being discovered rather than watch someone who had a pop single or who won Idol/AGT/X factor over a decade ago try their hand at the Voice. And it’s way more fun to watch people get the styling situation sorted on TV rather than come on looking like they’ve been on TV for years.

Marcia is a truly beautiful person both inside and out and a truly talented singer, and that’s why we love her, and probably why she stayed here with us, and didn’t go back to the US, because here she is just Marcia. If you only think that she is beautiful because she is black, then you have some issues.

I had my first little flip Motorola when he started Australian idol . I think I got into so much trouble because all I did was vote guy Sebastian, my husband well he had no choice lol, I’m 51 now

He is definitely not underrated, his song Battle Scars was the number 2 song in all of Australia and the US for a longgggg time, and hes gone multi platinum multiple times. He's also currently the judge of Australia's The Voice for the past few years and was the Australia XFactor judge for over half a decade. Hes seriously so famous it isn't even funny. Definitely not underrated my friend. He really is so damn good.
