- Today we take a look at my friend's 400bhp Meth Injected Stage 3 6C Polo GTI! This car's power is thanks to the is38 turbo from the MK7 Golf R, but what's interesting here is that it's running the EXACT turbo from my Golf R!

In Germany VW used to sell 2litre of these called Polo R WRC with 220ps which been limited to 2500 pieces.
Not the same engine. Ea113 to ea888.3.

Prefer this shape to the newer. Just wondering, with this setup you are over twice the stock power on stock internals. How would you rate the longevity of such a setup? Cracking little pocket rocket!
I can't imagine longevity is high when your pushing all the stock internals to their max more wear and tear
Running similar power on my 6P Cupra same engine, 2 years no issues, EA888 Gen3 engines are strong when looked after.
@@rsc8841 it’s more the drive train, clutch etc that I’d be concerned about. The engine is used in the S3, Golf R etc so it’s obviously gonna hold the power okay.
Sorry never realised the clutch was upgraded. Just the rest of the internals that will be fucked
@@jimjamthebananaman1 02M/02Q gearboxes are strong af, drag 1.9tdi's use the same box (different ratios obviously) but they can take 800-900nm easy. There's also a 4th gear support bracket you can get for them just to keep things safe. Overall very strong engines and gearboxes.

The insurance cost must be eye-watering after all these mods. But great to see the passion for tuning these VAG cars.

Insurance doesn’t account for mods if he crashes he don’t get upgrade parts back
@@danielhozan6927 higher insurance has nothing to do with getting modded parts back. insurance will be higher because a faster car equals a higher risk of getting in a car crash therefore you have to pay more for your insurance
@Daniel Hozan depends who your insured with, my last policy covered all parts at retail price.

I own a polo 6r 1.4, not a GTI, and I feel like Polo's are more for affordable VW looks, Music quality, comfort and stance than performance, but i definitely wouldn't mind owning this Polo. Nice one mate.

That 4th gear pull was insane!
I would recommend doing e40 tune rather than bigger turbo and spend the money on the the LSD diff it can't be that expensive to get a drum of it

IT IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS! The road has many bits that catch people unfamiliar out all the time. Even temperature and animals come into play (with the odd rambler lol). Stay safe people.
How do these high HP FWD cars do in the wet? I struggle with a stock GTI at times, how do people do it with an extra 100hp? haha
A LSD helps quite alot 👍 cuts down torque steer quite abit

Spend some money on suspension modifications, LSD, and tires like the other two guys suggested really help a ton!

anything more than st1 and these need an LSD. Cant get the power down in the twisties. Mines st 2 and on the straights it just spins, if its wet itll spin in 3rd.
I actually think the polo is the golf of old especially with the is38 no problem

If I were the owner I would be getting the car down to unicorn or EcoTune and scrap RTMG off tbh
Also I know the 1.8 TSI very well, 420bhp is your limit stock block, don’t listen to christof at RTMG otherwise you’ll end up with a box full of bits from the side of the road and forking out for a new engine and forge kit

Everyone hating cause you can achieve 400 with a bigger turbo and intake .... the catch can and coils are some what cosmetic , does help but not necessary to get that
i'am really not into gti's because here in the netherlands they are litteraly in every street. but this one is damn clean!

The 1.8 and 2.0 are physically the same size mate, it's not like the 2.0 is a bigger engine.
Right...just the bore and stroke are slightly different which is why there is that slight variation in cc

It's the same engine as the mk7 gti/R and it's faster than those golfs because it's lighter and more agile.
Also there is not much difference between this car stock and an mk7 GTI.

Is it easy to get insurance for these mods?
From 6R or which is with 1.8 192Ps, the series is not bad. But with 400ps this is a Porsche killer

@jacquesvanstaden Straight away that tells me, you never sat in a 25th Anniversary [with all the extras it came with]...an R32...or even the V6 4Motion....They never failed...were more bullet-proof than the more breakable MK5's. They simply had their time....
