Btw Miss Goldenweek's power is often misconstrued as a Devil Fruit power but it's not, it's essentially a form of hypnosis or emotional stimulation, which isn't that out there when a hypnotist character like Jango already exists.
Anyway a lot of the inspiration for her power comes from color theory and classical color symbolism. Most magical girl shows tend to draw from this type of color symbolism, e.g. red being aggressive and direct and often the leader, blue being the withdrawn one, yellow being the bright and cheerful one, etc.
Oda even color codes the Straw Hats, Luffy is red (straightforward leader), Zoro is green (calm and goal-oriented), Nami is orange (emotional and adaptable), Usopp is yellow (cowardly but creative), Sanji is blue (cool and analytical). Those are broad strokes associations and there's some overlap between colors but you get the gist. Incidentally pink is associated with innocence while purple is associated with mystery, that may or may not be relevant in the future.
